## What is Bariqo?

Bariqo puts your day in order around prayer.

Accurate prayer times, calculated on your device — no account, no network needed. A countdown to the next prayer, the qibla direction, and reminders you can set for each prayer.

THE COMPLETE QUR'AN, OFFLINE
All 6,236 verses in Uthmani script, with the Pickthall English translation and classical tafsir from al-Jalalayn. Bookmarks open exactly where you left off. Set the Arabic and the translation to different sizes, independently.

WIDGETS FOR YOUR HOME SCREEN
Qur'an verses, hadith, azkar, prayer countdowns, Hijri dates, analog clock faces and more — in small, medium and large. Choose the calligraphy, the colours and the clock face.

A LIBRARY WORTH RETURNING TO
548 passages: hadith, azkar, classical Arabic poetry and wisdom. Share any of them as a card.

MADE TO LOOK RIGHT
Twelve themes, from Andalusian Night to Pearl White. Arabic calligraphy in Aref Ruqaa, Reem Kufi and Amiri Quran. A full Arabic interface with right-to-left layout.

FREE AND AD-SUPPORTED
Bariqo is free and supported by ads. Ads appear only on the Home, Widgets, Settings and Library screens. No ads are shown in the Qur'an, hadith or azkar readers, in prayer times, or in the qibla compass — reading and prayer stay clear.

BARIQO PREMIUM
Removes all advertising and unlocks unlimited widgets, every theme, all clock faces and every calligraphy style. Monthly, yearly and lifetime options are available.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time in your Apple Account settings.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-23

New in 1.2.0

- Three new premium themes, inspired by Mamluk Qur'an bindings, Fatimid tilework and the Ramadan lantern, each with a faint calligraphic backdrop.
- Four new Arabic-Indic clock faces for your Home Screen: Ruqah, Naskh, Kufi Block and Katibeh.
- Qibla compass: a steady haptic pulse while you face the qibla that fades as you turn away, a drawn Kaaba at the tip of the needle, and a wider, steadier "aligned" window. You can switch the haptics off in Settings.
- Location lookup is more reliable after an interruption.
- Small wording fixes.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-10-21

• Seven new Qur'an translations: German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Romanian and Turkish, from QuranEnc.com. Each shows its translator, source and version, with footnotes in their own section. They all work fully offline.

• A more accurate Qibla compass: it now uses true north, and the Kaaba position has been corrected. The dial turns smoothly through north, and "Facing the qibla" no longer flickers or appears on an unreliable reading.

• More reliable "Use my current location": it keeps looking for a moment instead of failing straight away, and keeps your chosen city if it can't find you.

• Improvements to the Arabic interface for the Qur'an reader.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-03

Widgets now follow the theme you chose and switch with Light and Dark Mode.

This also fixes Arabic being hard to read in Qur'an widgets, where the text could disappear into a dark background.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-27
