Walks should not fill you with dread.

If your dog lunges, barks or freezes at other dogs, strangers, bikes or the doorbell, BarkBento is a calm, force-free way through it - expert behavior programs broken into five-minute daily exercises anyone can keep up.

Calm Foundations, Leash Reactivity, Dog-Dog, Strangers, Separation Anxiety, Window and Barrier, and Over-Arousal. Each is a repeatable week-long module grounded in real positive-reinforcement methods - Look At That, Engage-Disengage, pattern games, graduated departures.

FIVE MINUTES, GUIDED START TO FINISH
Every session gives you the steps, a timer, a plain-language "why this works", and a word of encouragement. It all works offline, so a bad-signal walk is never a blocker.

FINALLY SEE IT WORKING
Your simple session and walk logs become a Calm Score, a shrinking working distance (calm at 15 ft, down from 40), and gentle trends - so the small wins stop feeling invisible.

CELEBRATE THE PROGRESS
Build a before-and-after progress card from your dog's own numbers and photos, entirely on your device, and share how far you have come.

KIND, AND HONEST ABOUT ITS LIMITS
Reward-based only - no shock, no prong, no false promises. If your dog has ever bitten, BarkBento points you to a certified behavior consultant or veterinary behaviorist instead. It is training support, not veterinary advice, and no outcome is guaranteed.

Free includes Calm Foundations and Leash Reactivity, the daily session player, your Calm Score, 7-day trends, the trigger diary and the whole Toolkit for one dog. Pro unlocks all five specialist programs, unlimited dogs, 30-day trends and full distance analysis, pattern insights, progress cards and progress reports.

Spelling is now American English throughout the app - "practise" is "practice", and a handful of other words have been corrected alongside it.

Also in this update:
- The Name box in Settings accepts only the characters a name is made of, so a stray symbol can no longer end up in your name or your dog's.
- If you are already subscribed, the BarkBento Pro screen now shows your membership and a Manage subscription link instead of offering you the free trial again.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-29

Fixes a bug that could switch Pro off for subscribers.

If BarkBento ever stopped recognising your subscription - locking the specialist programs, extra dogs or your 30-day trends when you had paid for them - that is fixed. Your Pro access is restored as soon as you open this update. If anything still looks locked, tap Restore purchases in Settings.

Also in this update:
- The membership price now always shows in your own currency.
- Fixed a rare hang on the loading screen at launch.
- Removed the daily reminder setting. It was never able to send a reminder, so rather than leave a switch that quietly did nothing, we have taken it out until we can build it properly.
