## What is BarkBus?

BarkBus is the operations app for pack-school dog walkers. The driver's phone runs the morning — turn-by-turn to every dog, gate codes when you pull up, one tap to pick up. Behind the scenes, AI quietly handles the admin, the billing and the bank reconciliation, so you can get back to the dogs.

Built in Cromwell, NZ, and trusted to run real runs every morning.

FIVE JOBS BARKBUS TAKES OFF YOUR PLATE

Mornings that run themselves
Today's Run is a cockpit: the next dog's photo, address and gate code up top, the live route map underneath, one tap to pick up or flag a no-show — the office is notified instantly. Reorder stops when traffic forces it. The lock-screen widget keeps working with the phone in your pocket, through all three phases of the day: Pickup, Roll Call, Dropoff.

Navigate dog to dog
Built-in turn-by-turn navigation, with every stop pinned by the dog's photo. Pull up and the app switches to arrival mode by itself — the gate code takes over the screen and one tap puts the dog aboard. No juggling a second maps app.

AI handles the admin
Paste a client message and the assistant reads it, looks up your owners, dogs and schedule, and drafts the booking as a confirm card. It catches scheduling conflicts you'd miss ("Monday isn't a van day") and proposes the fix before the card reaches you. Nothing in your database changes until you tap Confirm. Powered by Claude.

Your books do themselves
Charges generate from what actually happened on the runs. Upload your bank statement and reconciliation runs on autopilot: AI matches every deposit to an owner, remembers your payers month to month, and applies the confident matches itself. What's left is a tidy "who's behind" list, oldest first, with one-tap payment nudges.

Homestays, handled
A multi-night homestay is one record. Book it once — with a live price estimate as you type — and the schedule absorbs it, the dashboard counts it, the driver's run flags it, and the billing line just appears. One record of truth, zero double-entry.

YOUR CUSTOMERS GET AN APP TOO
Owners log in to see pickups and dropoffs live, get a notification as their dog comes aboard, mark away days, and request homestays — which land on your desk as one-tap approvals.

WORKS EVERYWHERE YOU DO
Phone in the van, tablet on the passenger seat, laptop on the desk. Plan the week on the calendar, run the morning from the lock screen, and let the books reconcile themselves by close of business.

First month free. No lock-in.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.7 — 2026-08-17

Another round of polish for the people driving the vans.

• Dog labels now travel with you. A label the office puts on a dog — Reactive, Meds, Muzzle, whatever they need — shows on the run list, the driving screen, the notification, the lock screen and the map pin, so you are not tapping back to check. When space is tight the labels condense rather than one being dropped.
• Voice guidance no longer talks over itself. When the route rebuilds mid-run, the instruction already playing is dropped instead of finishing over the top of the new one.
• The lock screen clears when the run is genuinely finished, instead of sitting on the last count.
• A van can now run two rounds in a day, with a round picker so a driver only sees the round they are on. Vans that run once a day look exactly as they did.
• Drivers can file an incident report from the run screen, with the time, location, van and dogs already filled in.
• Live shows when a round finished and how long it took.
• Every notification now has an off switch, and there are two new ones: a run starting, and drop-offs starting.
• Plus the usual fixes from real mornings — a schedule that would not load after tapping a notification, a button hanging off the edge of a sheet, a dog that would not stay deactivated, and error messages that told you to open a browser console.

### 2.6 — 2026-08-11

Driving a run is smoother this time around.

• Dog pins stay on the map while you drive — they no longer vanish when the run refreshes in the background.
• The route line reliably redraws when you come back into navigation.
• Dogs on the same street group together more sensibly, and the map advances to the next stop when it should.
• More reliable push notifications.

Plus a batch of smaller fixes and polish from driver feedback.

### 2.5 — 2026-08-09

Smoother mornings, top to bottom:

• Today's Run runs steadier from first pickup to last drop-off — on screen and on the lock-screen widget
• Homestays, billing and the account ledger got a good polish
• A batch of fixes from your feedback — thank you, and keep it coming

### 2.4 — 2026-08-03

This one's all fixes and polish — no new setup, just a steadier app.

- Homestays hold together better: reordering, van changes, and check-ins now land where they should.
- Owner portal: temp-address and away requests show the right status, an address change keeps the dog on the route, and the requests list loads reliably.
- Password reset now works every time.
- Lots of smaller fixes across scheduling and the daily run.

### 2.3 — 2026-07-27

• Fixed the lock-screen Live Activity tint on the run widget.
• Reliability and behind-the-scenes improvements.
