It's easy to navigate and the features are awesome. I especially like the map showing all of the dog friendly establishments around you. I'm new to Las Vegas, and I really wanted to meet other dog parents. My poodle is used to having friends. BarkHappy was released around the same time, and since then, we have met so many friends in our area! I love the Daily Matches because it puts different dogs into the spotlight. I enjoy the photos people share using the 'news feed.' There are discounts on dog products, a map of places that are dog-friendly (so helpful!), and you can even create events (like dog park meetups). They host public events, too, which are always awesome! I have discovered so many awesome dog friendly bars, restaurants and parks in my city! (Pittsburgh) I have also met some really rad dog owners who I schedule play dates with regularly, and I wouldn't have been able to do that without this app! They post so many events, meet-ups and special offers at your local dog store, and many of their events incorporate happy hour into them (major plus!) It directed us to a restaurant in an un-familiar area that had a great patio and water bowls for our pup. The user can add dog friendly places to the map as well. Local dog events are posted and the user can also create their own events and invite their “pack” of friends. A great way to meet new dogs and dog owners in your area! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 3/5 — Great concept but needs more *2018-09-24, version 1.13.27* Love the concept of this app!! However there are not many people near me using it (I guess it’s not that popular yet) but also the map was lacking for my town. I think users should be able to contribute to the map by adding locations and info about them (for example the dog friendly bars/restaurants in my town were not on the map but I didn’t see any where to add them myself). **Developer response:** Hi Michelle, The entire map is crowd-sourced from user contributions. Tap the blue "+ " button on the bottom right of the map or simply hold your finger down anywhere on the map and let go to add a dog friendly places anytime. Thanks for contributing! Also to see dogs near you by distance, tap the "by distance" view in dogs nearby. If you don't see many yet nearby in your city help us spread the word! Thanks for your support! ### 3/5 — Decent, But Public Event $10 Fee Is Ridiculous *2018-04-05, version 1.13.11* First off that public event might cost the host money anyhow, for them to be charged $10 just for some visibility is ridiculous. Secondly, this app isn’t extremely popular in my area—why would I pay $10 for an event I don’t even know people will show up for. Thirdly, I can advertise an event on Facebook and dog groups for free. Why would I pay you $10 to make a public event through your app!? I understand making money off an app. But I suggest doing it a different way, or at least waiting til the app is a bit more popular so a community can be built and the host’s fee might be worth it, but even then not charging $10. Otherwise, yeah, the app is decent. My only other complaint is there aren’t many users in my area, which the app makers have little control over. In the event the $10 fee is taken off I’ll be referring friends and family to the app. **Developer response:** Hi, we're glad to hear you like the app! We actually just made a few updates. First the cost to make an event public is now 1.99 also we've increased the dogs nearby distance view to 300 miles. Thanks for the feedback and support! ### 3/5 — New app *2016-06-23, version 1.11.12* This is a new app and will need people's input to make it better, it's a fun way for dogs and owners to meet up- it's a great app if people in your area uses it, which it will get there the more people get the app -right now the dogs that mostly match with my dogs live in Texas which is too far for them to play together because I live in Nevada-one thing that it needs to improve on is the profile for your second pet- the first pet gets to have a full profile and the second pet doesn't- great job but it's in the beginning stages ### 4/5 — Seems good so far— small improvements could be made *2020-01-26, version 1.15* Hi, just downloaded this app and it seems like a great concept! I just had some minor feedback: you should really be able to filter more in terms of the dogs that come up. For example, If I only want my dog to play with larger dogs as he’s fairly large and I don’t want him to hurt any smaller dogs while playing with them, or if I want to be able to filter by age/energy level as my dog is younger and has high energy and I want him to play with another dog with high energy. ### 4/5 — Much Potential! *2016-07-31, version 1.11.15* This app has the potential to be truly useful, especially as more people begin to use it and add to the dog-friendly locations. I met the most beautiful, animal loving human from the app and we (and our dogs) instantly clicked. The app allows you to browse for doggy (and human) buddies and it just so happens I met “the one”.
