## What is Barnegat Bite?

Barnegat Bite tells you the one thing every angler wants to know: when will the fish bite?

Built just for Island Heights and the upper Barnegat Bay, it fuses the three things that actually drive the bite — tide movement, solunar feeding periods, and barometric pressure — into one honest, plain-language call for the day, with the best window highlighted. No clutter, no guesswork, no jargon you have to look up.

WHAT YOU GET

• Today's bite, at a glance — a plain verdict ("Good window to fish today — best around 4 PM") with a one-line why, so you know whether to go and when.

• The bite curve — an hourly chart with the day's tide shaded behind it, so you can see the bite track the tide. Drag any hour to see exactly what's driving the score: tide, feeding period, and pressure.

• To-the-minute tides — exact highs and lows with heights, straight from NOAA, for the Toms River station.

• What's biting now — the species in season this month with current size and bag limits, so you know what you can keep before you cast.

• Small-boat advisory — wind, gusts, and a plain "good for the open bay" or "stick to the river" read, for when conditions decide the trip.

• Your patterns — log a catch and the app automatically records the tide, moon, pressure, and wind. Over a season it learns how YOU fish: "You land most fish on an incoming tide and a feeding period." That's a personal edge nothing else gives you.

The score shows its work — tap any hour and see the points behind it. The fishing regulations come from NJ Fish & Wildlife and are clearly dated; always re-verify before you keep a fish. This is a planning tool, not a substitute for official marine forecasts.
