## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 2.0.2 — 2026-08-16

2.0.2 is a quality release that hunts down and closes the paths where data you thought you had saved was quietly lost — even though the build was green and the tests passed. The whole codebase was audited and every defect it surfaced is fixed here.

There are four pillars.

1. Data that was never being saved — Notion number properties (a book's price and page count, a food item's nutrition values) had never once been saved. The same applied to the Food package's product name, Nutri-Score and product image, and to publish date and page count for non-Japanese books. Barcodes stocked while offline could also be pushed as an empty page; that is fixed too.

2. Sync reliability — fixed duplicate Notion pages created by repeated retry taps, history stuck at "sending", and auto-sync sometimes not starting after connectivity was restored.

3. Failures are visible now — errors that used to produce no reaction, or look like something else entirely, now explain themselves in place. A failed history load no longer shows up as "No history".

4. Custom API for BarNoR Plus — register your own API, let BarNoR discover the fields it returns from a sample barcode, and map them to your Notion properties.

Also fixed: the camera could stay on after closing the scanner, "pull to restore purchases" in Settings did not actually restore, and Japanese two-tier book barcodes could be missed.

Upgrading from 2.0.1 preserves your history and package settings.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-08-09

2.0.1 is a maintenance release that fixes two problems surfaced by the 2.0.0 launch: a broken onboarding path and missing English strings.

It has three pillars:

1. Reworked tutorial — a new page walks users through Notion integration-token setup, and the tutorial now resumes where you left off. The unreachable Plus intro slide has been removed.
2. Rebuilt Plus awareness — the upgrade path is now wired into all three Plus gates at the moment the user hits the wall, plus a dismissible awareness card on the package list.
3. Complete English localization — every untranslated string left over from the v2 feature work has been catalogued.

No behavioral changes to the core flow (barcode scan → Notion save, cover fetching, offline queue, App Attest authentication).

### 2.0.0 — 2026-07-08

Thank you for using BarNoR!
In version 2.0.0, we are thrilled to introduce highly anticipated features that make the app even more powerful and customizable!

New Feature: Introducing "BarNoR Plus" (One-Time Purchase)
For our power users, we've added a premium tier, "BarNoR Plus"—a lifetime unlock with a single purchase. Upgrading to Plus gives you access to the following powerful features:

・Custom API Integration
In addition to our default book and food APIs, you can now connect BarNoR to your own "Custom APIs" to fetch barcode data. Whether it's your company's internal system or a personal database, the possibilities are endless!

・Expanded Package Settings
We've increased the limit for Notion save settings (Packages). You can now register up to 10 packages (up from 3 in the free version), allowing for more flexible workflows across multiple databases.

・Increased Offline Queue Capacity
Scan more barcodes even when you're completely offline. The maximum capacity for your offline scan queue has been significantly expanded.

■ Other Improvements & Fixes
・Seamless Purchase Restoration: You can now easily restore your BarNoR Plus purchase (e.g., when changing devices) simply by pulling down to refresh on the Settings screen.

・Under-the-hood performance improvements and minor bug fixes.
Unleash the full potential of your barcode scanning with Custom APIs! If you enjoy using BarNoR, please consider leaving us a review on the App Store—it really helps support our development!
