You do not have to pay to activate the barometer - the purchase is purely optional to disable the ad banner, and activate a couple optional features that only certain power users need. If it’s. not working for you, it is probably because you have the system permissions disabled that are required for the barometer data. Aus Datenschutzgründen frage ich nicht nach dem genauesten Standort, sondern nur nach einer ungefähren Position, damit die Höhe für die Berechnung bestimmt werden kann. Wohnen Sie in einer Wohnung oder in einem höheren Gebäude? Oder sind die topografischen Daten an Ihrem Standort möglicherweise falsch? Die Kartendaten erfassen normalerweise nur die Geländehöhe, nicht die Höhe innerhalb eines Gebäudes. Ein Höhenfehler von etwa 20 m hat nur einen sehr kleinen Einfluss auf die Berechnung des Luftdrucks auf Meereshöhe, ungefähr 0,25 %. Great to understand even arthritis **Developer response:** Unfortunately Apple does not allow continuous background tasks. We comply with Apple's requirements by using "Background App Refresh" a feature which periodically requests new data, but the request rate is controlled by the operating system based on available battery life and how much iOS thinks you want to see the data. There's no way around it, but at least we are able to grab multiple data points per day (more than enough for pressure trends), and the more you use the app the more frequently the system will request data. I’m impressed that the developer has been maintaining this app for such a long time and keeps it modern and up to date as iOS evolves. I’m happy to see the current update uses Liquid Glass. It’s so sensitive I can see the pressure change when I walk up the stairs. It’s nice to see it get a facelift and new features after all these years. It works great for me in terms of measuring the atmospheric pressure and alerting me when the pressure hits a specific value. The ability to export data as CSV is really useful. ### 5/5 — Best barometer app *2025-02-24* If you’re interested in using your iPhone to measure the atmospheric pressure as if you owned a weather station, this is the app for you. It has a lot of nice features such as alarms and data export. The developer is also very responsive. ### 5/5 — Vital tool! *2024-08-21* First, I’m not the traditional user of this app. I’ve been using it to track the the pressure and changes throughout the day and week and how it effects my migraines. This has been a simple and vital tool in helping to prepare as well as give “reason” to why symptoms of migraine randomly start to crop up. “Oh look! The pressure has changed dramatically! No wonder I feel awful!” Along with this I’ve been able to see the elevation difference between home, work, in-laws (never pressure there 🤪), and vacation locations. My only wish would be a way to zoom in on the table to see the data. My chart is rather large since I don’t refresh or close the app. **Developer response:** Glad to know you find the app useful! The way I was using it I would just reset it from time totem but I see that does not work for everybody. Thanks for writing a review. I'm sorry I missed the regional date format - update is already incoming to fix that! As far as history, there's button on the toolbar to toggle between "all data" mode and last 48-hours which is what I think you want. Some people like the longer format for research etc. so I try to give options. The data points probably won't get chunkier but you can export to CSV and plot them with your preferred method if you like. I hope you enjoy Barograph after the date-fix update more than the star-rating shows! Feel free to reach out with any more ideas or suggestions. I'm just one guy and the app can maybe feel a little rough around the edges sometimes, and I'm sorry for that. I typically respond pretty quickly and hope that sets my app from the crowd a bit. Not even a testing opportunity, so this gets no stars unless I have to put one down to get this review to post, since I can’t use it at all except when I fly. It will be deleted in favour of an app that’s functional and useful. **Developer response:** If you live at sea-level then you wouldn’t gain anything from paying for the sea-level feature. What the sea-level feature does is take the measured pressure and adjusting it to what it would be if you were at sea-level using elevation and temperature, which would be a zero adjustment for you. Since you already live at sea level you can simply use the measured pressure for free - no need to upgrade unless you wish to support the app. I do ask for a small fee for the sea level feature because the API I source weather data from is not free. By the way nice to see that somebody tried it in Canada, the App has Canadian roots! 🇨🇦 Feel free to email me via the help section if you have any questions. ### 1/5 — Useless - No way to calibrate *2025-01-22* No way to calibrate. I do have a sea-level equivalent pressure adjustment feature for an extra fee. ### 1/5 — V2.8 Whiteout Screen *2024-06-18* Since the update to v2.8 nothing opens only a white screen appears even after deleting the app and reinstalling it. Considering this could potentially be a password, this poses a security risk. This is really unfortunate, as it was exactly what I was looking for in a barometer app aside from this issue! **Developer response:** As the developer who created that app I find it crazy that this happened given that I don’t even know what APIs to use to check the clipboard. The code literally is not even aware of the clipboard. It has seriously never happened to me and when I saw your review I opened the app myself to check this out and didn’t get any clipboard message. Can you email me and send a screenshot showing how to repeat the clipboard issue so I can fix it? Thank you. EDIT: I just saw it happen to me! I did some googling and I think I know what is happening. I think it’s a bug in the old version of google analytics services I am using. I have no idea why google would be reading the clipboard though. I will release an update shortly without the google services as this is completely unacceptable. ### 1/5 — Does Not Work - Ridiculous *2018-11-27* As above - doesn’t really do anything - a total waste of time. Certainly does not do anything claimed for it by the developer. There are many decent apps that utilise the barometer sensor in the iPad - this isn’t one of them. Originally it used Apple iAd which was quite nice and unobtrusive. Later versions used Google ads which got quite bad and we apologize for that. We always allowed users to remove the ads for a very low fee, but in latest released we've gotten rid of ads altogether and only have a few messages reminding you to upgrade. I first tried it back in 2013 or 2014. It’s great to see a modern user interface and the new style of home screen which they recently added. The best thing about this app is it measures the pressure in the background. I don’t get data every minute of the day, but I get enough data points during the day that I always have an idea of the pressure trend and I can spot storms before they hit. **Developer response:** Thank you so much for the review! My family had one in the hallway and now I have one It’s straight forward and presents the data in a clear graph so I get to see the history with useful additions like notifications , sharing , date spans etc.and I’m looking forward to tracking our pressure alongside my other instruments (yes I am a weather freak with my netatmo instruments) **Developer response:** Thanks for the review! When I lived in Texas and had to deal with hurricanes I always loved watching the pressure change. I actually bought a digital standalone barograph on eBay and used that for a few years, then a Netatmo as well. When Apple started shipping iPhones with a barometer on board I wanted to use the at a on my phone instead, and so I created Barograph! It was the first barometer app I ever used and it’s still the best. I like how accurate it is and how it plots the data in a chart. The alarms are useful as well.
