I need to keep track of barometric pressure thanks to migraines and tinnitus. With that in mind, I would like to request that the dev re-add the ability to have a notification/alarm when the barometric pressure goes up. Changes in either direction are important to monitor for a certain population. Everything else is great! I need an app to help predict migraines and this app has not notified me of any significant changes at all. We have had volatile weather the last few weeks and while it will show the change on the graph, it does not notify. ### 1/5 — Location Svcs REQUIRED *2025-05-25* App won’t allow input of a static location setting and the battery usage of that service on the iphone is horrible to phone batteries. Also it stated that it uses your location EVEN WHEN THE APP IS NOT EVEN OPEN !!!??? No thank-you! **Developer response:** UPDATE: To display the barometric pressure at sea level, the app needs to get the altitude as long as the device’s pressure. Depending on the iOS version it requires either Motion & Fitness or GPS permissions. Everything happens offline in your device without any server involved. This is explained in detail in the Settings of the app. To clarify, It doesn’t check location while you are not using the app. Also, it doesn’t drain the battery at all. We are a small independent team of 2. This kind of misleading and inaccurate reviews have a real impact. In case of doubts or support you can contact us via Settings in the app. Thanks for your comprehension. ### 2/5 — Not worth the money *2026-03-29, version 1.5.0* It will show you the pressure but will not refresh unless you keep going into the app. I want an app that will show you the barometric pressure history over the night to determine if the changes are contributing to my headaches. This is not that app. It says it will tell you drastic changes but it doesn’t. I’ve checked settings and it’s not me. It’s just not a great app. Wish I could get a refund ### 2/5 — Pressure to Bar(e) *2025-05-24* Experience was.. disappointing for me. I was glad to discover an “offline” barometric pressure access and altitude app and for free at that, through the promotion. However, after onboarding the app blurred out data readings with a “motion data access” needed wall with no explanation or direction to resolve it (iOS 18.5). After wasting time exploring settings options to try and diagnose the issue in vain, it became a hard delete. Further still, note that the app wants access to your financial data. Offline functionality is an enticing lure, the switch comes in an undercooked app with an instant data access wall (my experience) without any clarity as to how to proceed, and it suspiciously wants entitlement to your financial info- Recap: So far in this transaction, one party has access to data and it’s clearly prioritized over the other party… always a red flag. 🚩 Developers would do well to sort things out before they go to market. This keeps a good name and it shows integrity is a guarded priority. Hope these guys are on the level and sort it all out (namely users that may need to make settings changes and have a clear and transparent understanding of the data surrendered and privacy issues involved). 2 Stars for concept. **Developer response:** Hi, and thanks for taking the time to share your experience. To clarify: the app does not access your financial data in any way. That assumption is simply incorrect. The mention of financial permissions in the App Store is due to the presence of in-app purchases (handled entirely by Apple). We have zero access to your payment info — that’s fully managed by Apple’s system, not by us. As for the “motion and fitness” permission — this is required by Apple to access the iPhone’s barometric sensor, which is the entire foundation of the app. We don’t use or collect motion or fitness data. We don’t track users. We don’t send any data anywhere. The app is fully offline and private. We built this app specifically for the sailing community, where offline tools are essential. It’s disappointing to see a 2-star review based on assumptions that don’t reflect what the app actually does. We’re a small indie team — just the two of us — and reviews like this really hurt our chances of reaching the people who might actually benefit from what we’re trying to build. If you’re open to revisiting the app with that context in mind, we’d truly appreciate it. I was glad to discover an “offline” barometric pressure access and altitude app and for free at that, through the promotion (that’s always a nice and yet often under appreciated gesture and imo a smart way to get the word out about your work). However, after onboarding the app blurred out data readings with a “motion data access needed” screen but with no explanation or direction to resolve it (iOS 18.5, iPhone 11). After time spent exploring settings options (trying this and that to enable it) in vain, I gave up and deleted it in disappointment. Further still, I noted that the app description in store wants access to your financial data, something that I haven’t seen too often in apps that I explore or use, prioritizing security and privacy over brand and developer where possible. Transparency on what data you are in fact surrendering and to whom it is given is a legitimate consideration. This reviewer tends to be suspicious when apps go free, have rushed or incomplete menus or onboarding, but want financials. In this case, it was asserted that only Apple has access to that data- probably so… so don’t let me spoil the barrel. Having said that, offline functionality is an enticing attraction but the breakdown for me came in the lack of clarity as to enabling the access the app needs to function. I still don’t have that info and as such I cannot rate the app’s merit or efforts sufficiently or objectively. As they are a two man developer team, I can respect the effort but if I can’t use it yet.. ### 4/5 — Question to the developers *2025-07-17, version 1.1.1* What is the current mechanism of the lock screen widget? The widget never updates unless I open the app where it loads the latest barometer readings. Love to know more about how the lock screen widget functions. Thx ### 4/5 — Works, could use more features *2025-05-24, version 1.1.1* It works fine, but is spare on features. I’ve tried a few barometer/altimeter apps, but I always end up comparing them to Bar-o-meter, which I’ve used the longest. I like that Bar-o-meter, in addition to just showing the pressure reading from the internal pressure sensor, also shows the GPS altitude, an indication of the current relative GPS accuracy, the sea level pressure from online weather maps, and the predicted altitude from the difference between the measured pressure and the sea level pressure. Unfortunately, its reading of the internal sensor stopped working when I got my 16e. It would be nice to have another app with similar functionality, but I get that you’re aiming for this one to be fully offline. One suggestion would be a self-adjusting vertical scale for the pressure trend graph so that you can see finer changes. You also have a typo in “deteriorated”. It might be nice for the notification threshold to be user-selectable, too. Finally, I think $10 for the pro version is too much considering how much I will be using the app. It’ll mostly just be interesting during plane flights. ### 5/5 — Appreciate you *2026-07-30, version 1.5.2* I would like to see more frequent updates and readings to evaluate my elevated radon level readings relays ### 5/5 — Amazing app and developers *2026-03-22, version 1.5.0* Firstly, this app is exactly what I've been looking for to help me track barometric pressure, notice past trends as they correlate to my migraines, and get alerts for the future so I can hopefully prevent migraines before they start. There is an incredibly reasonable one time fee, which is SO refreshing to see in an app these days, which I was more than happy to pay for. Secondly, I had some minor difficulty figuring something out, so I contacted the developers, who replied WITHIN MINUTES with a kind, detailed, helpful response, that immediately fixed my issue. I don't think I've ever written a review for an app before, but between the nonpredatory, easy-to-use app interface and the clear dedication and care the creators have for their app and its users, I just had to sing their praises here for a bit. Oh, and we've also updated the graph. ### 5/5 — Perfect app, recommend for POTS/EDS/Hypermobile tracking *2025-11-12, version 1.2.0* This is a perfect app. First it’s pay once not a subscription and not expensive. Second it does one three things I need without other distracting/annoying extras: 1 record the barometric pressure, 2 warn me of sudden changes up or down and 3 it lets me export the data so I can overlay it against my health or other data. Oh! And it has widgets!!
