### 3/5 — Interesting concept but not fully baked

I feel like this game is close to being very fun but some of the mechanics make openings highly predictable, and the AI player is quite bad. Even the hardest is easy to dominate and when I played concedes the game by running out of time. I hope the developer continues to make progress!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback!  it was specific enough to act on, and you
were right on all three counts.

Version 1.0.2 rebuilds the AI from the ground up. The time loss problem is
gone: the AI now manages its clock and can't run itself out. It's also
substantially stronger, especially at reading pinch tactics it used to miss
entirely, and it varies its openings so games no longer start the same way.

If you get a chance to try the new Hard mode, I'd genuinely like to know whether you think it
puts up a better fight, and if it does, I'd be grateful if you'd consider
updating your rating. Either way, thanks for taking the time to write it up.
