## What is barrio.social?

barrio.social is a private social network for your real neighbourhood.

Not followers. Not an algorithm. Just the people around you — the ones you actually know, or want to know.

Your barrio is a living map of your network. See who knows who. Discover friends of friends. Every connection has a story.

Events are how the barrio moves. Create one, invite who you trust, let it travel through the network. Your neighbours find out because someone they know is going — not because of an ad.

Invite-only. No strangers. No noise.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.11 — 2026-07-28

- Minor bug fixing

### 1.3.9 — 2026-07-13

Co-hosts can now share events via WhatsApp, just like the host. If you're going to a public event, you'll also see a "Share invite link" option to bring people along.

### 1.3.7 — 2026-07-12

Bug fixes and polish based on user feedback.

• Typing multi-word phrases in your 5 words now works correctly — spaces are preserved as you type
• Shuffle keeps re-rolling suggestions on every tap; the button dims when there's nothing left to swap
• Share to WhatsApp no longer shows the link twice
• Pull down to refresh on event pages

### 1.3.6 — 2026-07-09

- Fixed bugs

### 1.3.2 — 2026-07-06

Barrio now surfaces curated local events — things worth showing up to, picked by the people who know the neighborhood. They appear alongside events from people you know.
New to the barrio? You'll land on a screen that shows who invited you and what's coming up — a softer start before the nebula fills in.
A few small improvements: word phrases are now allowed (not just single words), there's a Shuffle button if you need a nudge, and the app will ask once about notifications the first time you RSVP so you don't miss updates if plans change.
