For Barstool it has been an up and down experience. On the good side: 1) User interface is good not over crowded and can find different things 2) Customer support has been friendly and helpful. I had a promotion expire and they were quick to explain and willing to deactivate it. 3) The free bets last longer than most other places On the bad side: 1) The other apps I used were much clearer on when the free bets expired. Out of 6 apps Barstool was the only one I had the free bets expire. 2) I used the refer a friend bonus and the first time the person used the link and neither of us got the bonus. My friend has since decided to move on to other apps. 3) Using the refer a friend promotion you cannot take winnings out until all the bonus bets are wagered which is much more aggressive then the other sites 4) The double authentication typically fails with password entry so it takes longer and multiple tries to complete At the end of the day if it was my only option, I would use it and deal with the disadvantages since they are not miserably bad. However, since it is not the only option I will use different apps. ### 2/5 — Screws their customers over without concern *2022-12-30, version 1.27.0* I’ve used barstool sportsbook for multiple years and enjoyed their service.. until I actually needed them to provide some customer service. I bet the under on the Buffalo bills game that was supposed to get 6 ft of snow, based on that entire premise. When the game changed to being played at Ford Field, they immediately moved the under/over up 7.5 pts without voiding any of the prior bets, even though it was a completely different circumstance than the bet they offered, and they moved the line on their own accord. They refused to void the bet and basically stole my money even though 90% of the other sportsbooks choose to do the right thing. Don’t trust these crooks to do the honorable thing. Good platform, but they will screw you over if given the chance. ### 2/5 — Needs work *2022-10-02, version 1.23.0* The Sportsbook end of things is solid. They give you information like trends players and teams have which helps. The casino end however, is pretty bad. I opted in to their casino bonuses and had to take screenshots of me opting in to specific bonuses because they didn’t know what I was talking about. I had to contact support several times after their 72-hour window because I never received my bonus. Contacted them 6-7 times and got the runaround on half of those. Tonight was it for me. They owed me $25 from their promotion and only credited me with $10. They have a great promotion called “coin boys” but if I have to contact support every time just to get my bonus, that’s not worth the hassle anymore. Hopefully it improves or others don’t have the same issue, but I’ve deleted it for now. ### 1/5 — DONT DOWNLOAD *2022-09-23, version 1.23.0* By far the worst app I have ever used in my entire life. Their selection of games is subpar to say the least if I could give them zero stars I would. I’ve deposited over 1300 and have never been above my deposit other than one time. Not even close. I’ve deposited over 1300 and have withdrew 140. Completely a waist of money and the casino is a joke. Their customer service is rude and the whole site is a complete mess. Keeps kicking me out of games. The games they do have are so lopsided it’s doesn’t give anyone a chance to even play. If you want to spend money on this site I suggest you walk outside throw what you want to spend on the ground. And grab some gasoline and pour it on the money and then light a match and watch it burn. It would be more enjoyable than watching it disappear like Houdini on this Sportsbook app. I would have had a better time listening to a Jessica Simpson auto tuned fart on replay for hours than to throw money at this site. Do yourself a favor and get any other gambling site other than this one. Even if the site seems sketchy and might give you rabies and an STD it would be better than waist if your money on this dumpster fire. ### 2/5 — App is alright, customer service is lacking and very disorganized *2022-09-12, version 1.23.0* I’m very disappointed in barstool Sportsbook. For some reason the baccarat game wouldnt allow me to place pair bets, so after contacting in-game support, they said reach out to barstool. Unfortunately I kept having to reiterate the same point three times over and all the rep keep saying the most basic things that don’t help, have you tried logging in/out?, have you updated the app, etc etc. obviously I did this before contacting support and communicated that. I even sent a screenshot of the problem and the agent once again failed to say anything about the issue, trying to say something about a balance even when I had money in the account. Complete lack of effort or knowledge. Even when visiting in person at the Hollywood casino for a barstool Sportsbook promotion, the workers were literally ripping barstool Sportsbook saying the systems don’t communicate at all and the merger has been an absolute headache. Can you email us at support@barstoolsportsbook.com so we can look into this for you? ### 1/5 — Don’t bet until major changes happen *2022-05-11, version 1.18.0* There is a big problem with the way bets get finalized on this app. My most recent example is when a bet had to go through an “approval process.” After the approval process, my bet was altered to a lesser amount. There was no acceptance process on my end and no way for me to take my action somewhere else because this book didn’t want to handle my bet. Immediately upon noticing my bet was changed without my approval or even alert, I contacted support multiple times to have the bet canceled. The best I was offered was a cash out which pays a fraction of my initial bet. Don’t use this app until the policies, process, and support improve. As it is now, a book in person is much better to deal with. If they can’t handle your action, they’d let you walk away with your money. Barstool tied up parts of my big bets on their own terms. ### 1/5 — Scam casino *2022-05-11, version 1.18.0* If you’re thinking about wagering money on online casino games, this is the last app you want to choose. Think it’s impossible to wager 1k on casino games and not get a single free spin? Well with Barstool it’s not! 😃.. literally over 100+ spins on multiple games and not a single bonus was given. On top of that the 1 game I actually wanted to play (King Of Atlantis) just doesn’t work on their site and they have no real reason why. I asked the 1st day why it didn’t work (seeing as how it was the only game I wanted to play) and they told me it might be down for maintenance. Fast forward 3 days later and it’s still telling me it’s not supported, yet ever other game works? I’ve played on Draftkings, fanduel, wynnbet, mgm, etc…. And it’s one of the most profitable games. Kind of weird it’s the one game they won’t let people play on barstool. And when you’re betting $10+ dollars a spin, it’s very weird to not at least get one profitable spin. The most they probably gave me while wagering that high was like 15 dollars lol.. this app is laughable. Lesson learned though. I’d give it a half star if I could. Be safe people. ### 1/5 — Partnership with collection agency *2022-04-29, version 1.18.0* I made a small deposit of $70 using a bank account that I have used previously on barstool, fanduel, and draftkings. For whatever reason on this deposit barstool decided to put the money in my account but decline the transaction with my bank. They made no effort to contact me and I had no idea they did this until I started getting calls from a collection agency saying I owe $70 as well as a $35 processing fee. Decided to contact barstool to see if this was a scam and learned that they have a partnership with this collection agency and there is nothing I can do. I was not provided with any reason as to why my transaction was declined. As I said I have used this account to make deposits many times on many sites. I even used it to make deposits on barstool after they declined one of the transactions before I found out. I’m very disappointed. I’m a big barstool fan and I really wanted barstool to be the top Sportsbook but given the amount of glitches the app has and their disgraceful treatment of customers there’s just no way I can use the app again. All of that I love, don’t want that to change. To be honest these are the things that have kept me with BSS instead of using DK or FD more. The BSS app itself is absolutely atrocious. I often times have to login multiple times before it registers I’m logged in. I sometimes enter a bet amount but the “Wager *amount*” box is greyed out, not allowing me to place the bet (this isn’t just when bets are suspended or closed, that’s different and I understand not being able to wager on a closed/suspended bet). Often times takes 2-3 minutes for my active and settled bets to show up after opening the app. Like I said, I’m a big stoolie so I don’t see myself leaving this sportsbook but would like some small quality of life updates to make the experience better #VIVA ### 1/5 — Slots *2022-03-30, version 1.17.1* I been trying this app about a week now, not once have a had a win worth mentioning or even telling all the people I know about this app.. not to mention spending more then enough money on here, I have yet to get credits, free plays or any of that promotional stuff. I’m gonna probably try it out one more time if I’m up to it and if it’s another loss I’m gonna just delete the whole app and never look back because at this point I’m just dishing out money just because, it doesn’t even give you nothing worth coming back and spending more money with them which is weird. I have been trying to withdrawal my money for 6 plus months now. They want a copy of debit cards that have expired and then when I tell them I don’t have them because they expired and old they want a bank statement. I provide that through there automated service because you can’t contact anyone to speak with personally. You can request a callback but you won’t receive the callback or the link for a callback doesn’t work. I consistently send emails explaining the situation and requesting to speak with someone but I only receive automated responses and the same links that I have done countless times. Extremely frustrated and disturbed by this. I was able to speak with a representative one time and they didn’t seem qualified for the job and made the same unrealistic demands. With that being said, until this point in time, I have not had any issues or problems with them and their customer service and responsiveness to any problems that come up has been fantastic. Recently I won a decent sum of money and decided to cash out my winnings. Per their FAQ page, the timetable for cashing out via paper check says “ Please note it can take up to 14 days to arrive”. Based on my own research I have seen most receive within 5-10 days. My withdrawal was approved within hours and I have not heard back since. I reached out to their live chat and was notified by the customer service representative that I should expect my check to arrive in 3-4 weeks. If I would have known it would have taken this long I would have cashed out electronically as I probably should have done anyways. Upon asking why the FAQ page says what it says I was told “I’m very sorry about the miscommunication but that is how long it takes”. I have cashed out from DraftKings multiple times via check and it has taken 5-10 days from time it is approved. If you want your winnings in a reasonable amount of time stay away from this book. Can you email us at support@barstoolsportsbook.com so we can look into this for you? ### 4/5 — Barstool Sportsbook App Overall Good *2021-12-16, version 1.14.0* As a huge stoolie for years, I was extremely excited for the sportsbook to finally be live in New Jersey. The sportsbook did not disappoint the hype around it and is overall a good sportsbook in my opinion. I really enjoy the interactive bet features with barstool personalities and all the merch giveaways it has to offer. The promos are usually pretty solid and I enjoy looking out for them weekly. One thing I would suggest to improve the app that fanduel recently starting doing is placing the stats and progress in the betslip during the live games. For example, say I have a parlay with Pat Mahomes over 292.5 yards, I would love to be able to see how many yards he has thrown for right underneath his over/under in the bet slip so I don’t have to go back and forth from ESPN to see how many yards he needs to hit my bet. Overall, it’s a very solid bet and I’ve been enjoying using it since it’s been live in jersey. **Developer response:** Hey. Glad you are enjoying the app. Thanks for the feedback. ### 3/5 — Barstool Sportsbook has great potential *2021-12-16, version 1.14.0* I like Barstool Sportsbook a lot better than FanDuel, DraftKings, etc. There are three small issues I have with the app. First, the promotions do not seem to payout automatically. I have opted into certain promotions and then had to chase customer service to receive the Sportsbook bonus promised in the promotion details. Second, the app sometimes lags when updating live scores. For example, the odds will update while the score remains the same. This may be misleading to new users. Lastly, the app has closed and required me to log back in a handful of times. This was very frustrating when trying to place a live bet. However, Barstool Sportsbook has the best customer service I’ve dealt with among Sportsbooks. They are extremely helpful, polite and responsive. Barstool Sportsbook is far newer than Fanduel, DraftKings, etc. but has the potential to become the best Sportsbook with minor improvements! ### 4/5 — User Friendly App *2021-12-16, version 1.14.0* In my opinion, barstool has by far the most user-friendly and visually appealing app on the market. Other sites have way too much going on and are hard to sift through. Very easy to use and makes wagering enjoyable. Love the promos and barstool exclusive bets as well. One piece of feedback I have would be though is to be able to filter down on pages. For example on college basketball, filter down to see just top 25 matchups, or only ACC teams, etc. Lastly, the only complaint I have is (and this is only recently) I have had trouble receiving bonus funds for promotions. It seems to be so hit or miss if I will get them or not that I screenshot every promotion and wager for that promotion in anticipation I will need to contact support. Luckily, they are easy to work with, but never the less frustrating. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Horrible Company Absolute Crooks *2023-06-04* This is the worst betting site and app I’ve ever been on. I have multiple, I mean multiple double charges on my bank account which has added up to a very significant amount of money. The app is constantly glitching and messing up during bets, cash-outs,deposits and withdrawals. I reached out to a customer service agent on a live chat about some concerns I had and she was very rude and unprofessional. After speaking with her I try logging in my account and she suspended my account while I had several bets going for no real reason. I get a email saying my account suspended because of concern for my well being!!! They will not give me access to my account at all I can’t see any of my bets , transactions or any of my own personal account info including my bank account and debit cards that are on file. I will be contacting my attorney to see what i can do about this. They are absolute crooks and if your thinking about using this app or company I would highly suggest going with someone else. I have everything screen recorded and screenshots I suggest you do the same if you use this app and check ur accounts for over charges and double charges ### 1/5 — Worst sports book out there go to draft kings instead *2023-04-04* Degenerate gambler here. This is the worst sports book app out of all of them. The app is constantly freezing and takes forever to load. I find myself constantly having to close the app and reopen it and sign in all over again. The app does not transition smoothly between pages. My active bets take forever to appear on screen if they even load at all. I couldn’t connect my bank account when I went to go cash out. It would freeze on the last part of the setup to cash out. If you want to gamble on an app, I would recommend Draft Kings where everything runs smoothly. Sincerely, A degenerate ### 1/5 — Disaster *2023-03-11* I have used your Sportsbook for over a year now and I’m starting to have problems. Before the Super Bowl this year I placed bets and won money. When I went to get my money out of my account it suspended my account saying I made a deposit not in my name (my wife’s PayPal). I took the necessary steps to unlock my account and y’all let me back into my account. I tried again to withdraw my money using my master card that is in my own name. I waited over a week for the funds to show up in my account and they never did. I reached out to support about where my money was and they told me “we will be sending you an email regarding further information.” The next email I got was telling me that my account was suspended, once again, for making a deposit using a payment method that’s not in my name. I did not even try to make a deposit again, all I’ve done is try to get my money out of my account. I’ve tried to reach out to support via email and live chat and I’ve gotten nowhere. This is all I know to do at this point. I recently had an issue where I placed a live bet that failed supposedly due to an odds change… within seconds grabbed the updated live Odds… only to find out BOTH ORIGINAL AND NEW bets were placed (original bet never successfully showed as being processed only after I placed the second)… eventually both lost… I instantly complained about the wager only to have this Mike K. (Customer support) not give a crap about the business I brought in. He could care less about me requesting to close my account if I was not compensated. He instantly closed my account on my request. How do you lose a customer who brings you business DAILY over a measly $200?? It’s the reason why businesses fail all the time…. They did not care at all in closing my account instantly BUT they did me a favor. She placed her first bet and won and barstool is refusing to pay out until she provides the additional information (exact message listed below). It seems like they should get this background information before you deposit, because I guarantee if she lost they would have had no problem taking her money. “Hey Christine, Thanks for submitting your recent withdrawal request. We need some additional information to complete your request. Please submit a selfie with you holding an active photo ID (e.g. passport, driver's license). Thanks, The Barstool Sportsbook & iCasino Team” ### 1/5 — DO NOT DOWNLOAD *2022-12-24, version 1.27.0* I deposited $200 about a week ago, the same day I withdrew my $200 as I it was my first time using Barstool Sportsbook and didn’t like any of the bets they were offering. I use Fanduel and DraftKings and find there bets to be a little more advantageous in my opinion. It has been several days since I withdrew my money and still had not received it in my bank account. I use the live chat customer service on the Barstool app to try to talk to someone and figure out what is taking so long. They tell me they sent me an email several days ago requesting that I SUBMIT A SELFIE OF MYSELF, HOLDING EITHER MY DRIVERS LICENSE OR PASSPORT, to provide sufficient proof to release my funds… even though they were all too ready to accept my deposit without this info. BEWARE This company purposely is creating an extra hurdle for people to get their money back in hopes that people miss the email or do not follow through with this IDIOTIC request to send a selfie of yourself! You could blame the victims by saying oh they don’t have to gamble but I think that’s very small picture / not how the human brain works - our society has most people spending everyday doing something they don’t want to do for little to no money so gambling to many seems like a chance to take a risk and find a way out of a hole. Anyhow with all that being said I’ve had multiple 15 hand losing streaks in blackjack here and although that does happen (1 in 16,000 chance) I don’t believe it’s something that happens 6-7 times in a week. Clearly something someone should look into! If I lose I lose fine I wagered my money you guys can take it and do idk with it spend it on leather seats in a car you don’t need (won’t buy your way into heaven). But it’s fishy and I will be spreading the good word of staying off these apps for all to hear - also it’s all the gambling apps this one’s just the one that’s bent me specifically over. ### 1/5 — Worst Sportsbook Support Team *2022-12-07, version 1.26.1* I’ve been a Barstool Sportsbook user for over a year now until I came across an issue where my payment account was comprised by another user, so my account was locked. I had to lock my PayPal account for this reason because Barstool would provide no further detail besides the fact that they had to lock my account. I immediately submitted all the documents they requested from me, and it was verified by their team but they continued to keep my account locked. I waited over a week and reached our daily for any updates but they kept telling me that in order to secure my account it had to remain locked. I had a substantial amount of funds deposited on their Sportsbook that they continued to keep locked away despite my compliance in their request without a legal/substantial reason to do so. I suggest to those who are considering Barstool to go with another Sportsbook who will protect your funds and seek to support the user rather than give shady reasons to keep your own funds from you. You can lose like crazy and that’s no problem! The moment I was able to get some of my money back now I’m having the hardest time. I was told to upload a selfie of holding my ID in which I did, after that I have not heard from anybody whatsoever besides the chat and each time I chat with someone on the app, I get told something different. Go to another casino! This is a casino that has little money so they have the lowest odds of winning. Your better off going to the Borgata casino app with MGM or another that is connected to good casinos. First off you can’t even trade your points in for casino play on the app, they give little promotions with crazy play through. They will make you jump through so many obstacles just to cash out. You watch the slots literally rarely hit and you can tell the jackpots of the familiar slots do not match up with the other big casinos. All sports are easy to access via the menu icons along the top of the screen. This app includes several cool features for each bet, for example you can move the line of a given bet by simply sliding a “Move the Line” toggle in the direction you choose. Barstool Sportsbook also has daily exclusive “Bet with” props that have boosted odds, where you can choose to bet with experts from Barstool media platforms. They also have other daily boosted odds on a variety of games. Barstool Sportsbook also has some unique bet promotions where they will send you merchandise (hoodies, hats, shirts ,etc) if you choose a certain bet, for example I recently bet on a football game money line and got a free winter beanie hat, whether the bet won or lost. The odds are pretty close to other betting apps and I have never had an issue with using the app. Always seems to load and not much maintenance when I want to bet. The one thing that is frustrating is not knowing when you are using your money or the bonus cash awarded. I have missed out on some boosts because I didn’t use my money as All money is lumped together. It is nice being able to use it in whatever increment amounts I want as other apps only give you free bets for a locked in dollar amount. I’ve had trouble signing up for other books due to issues with ID verification. Barstool’s customer service was very quick to solve this issue whereas other books were in no rush. Their interface is very easy to navigate, the odds are competitive, and withdrawals are easy and fast. There are a wide variety of sports, although I wish there were additional betting options for the PGA Tour (e.g. the option to bet on missed/made cuts). My only complaint is with live betting… it can take a while to lock in a live bet because the changing odds constantly reset the countdown. It allows you to bet on any game that you wish. The functionality of the app is pretty intuitive as well. A recommendation for improvement is since there are so many sports to bet on, it’s sometimes difficult to get to the sport you want. There are only a few sports that I’m interested in and it would be nice if the app recognized those sports based on my action and take me to those sports automatically. If I want to bet on something that is not my core, then I would have to search for it. I didn’t like how long it took you to go live in Iowa but the wait was worth it. Login is simple. The new user bonus offer was one of the best. Navigating the app is a breeze. The speed of the app is unmatched. Betting and live betting is very easy and the app updates frequently so you can hit a live bet when you want and don’t have to go through multiple line changes before your bet registers. I would love it if there were more deposit matches throughout the months. I usually take advantage of deposit matches every time they come out. As soon as it became available in WV I jumped all over signing up for it because I had grown so frustrated with other sportsbooks. I love that Barstool let’s you deposit and withdraw directly from and onto a debit card. I really dig the “Bet With Barstool” bets. After using various sportsbooks for the past year and a half, I have to say that Barstool is by far the best one I’ve used so far. Everything seems to work the way it’s supposed to. The markets available, as well as the number and type of promotions means I use this book virtually every day. The website is good, and the app is great - clean interface, easy to navigate and intuitive. Once criticism is the website and the app can be a bit slow to load and having the website open in a browser can be a bit of a resource hog. Overall, however, I’m super pleased with this sportsbook and will continue to use them regularly. Picking alternate lines is way easier, combining multiple same-game parlay legs from different games is something that no other sports book has, and there are just generally more props to pick from. For the most part, they also provide better odds on games compared to most sports books. The only other one that is comparable is FanDuel. Also helps this the app rarely malfunctions pre or mid game! Overall I like this book the most. They also have sick promotional bets where you can win free Barstool apparel, win or lose. Def recommend. ### 5/5 — Great Design, Unique Promos, Easy to Use *2020-09-18, version 1.0.0* This app exceeded my already high expectations. The design is easy to use and the backend beats out the likes of DK and FD on sheer speed. There are also several unique features and on top of the standard promos on initial deposits that you could find at the other sportsbooks, they deposit money into your account without doing ANYTHING. $10 to start and another $5 on additional preference setting which takes about five seconds. The parlay feature is very cool and the separation of live betting vs pre game makes access to live betting much faster than the other apps. The discounted bets are great and the juiced props are also noteworthy. Can’t wait for the power hour! (5-6pm you get reduced odds).
