We entered in all the payment fields and checked it over several times, but the app didn’t process payment after many attempts. I was told you join the waitlist just to walk inside to join the actual waitlist. ### 1/5 — Unable to Sign In with Apple, unable to pay with Apple Pay *2021-02-08, version 2.0.3* The app leads you to believe that you can Sign In with Apple but when you try, it gives a little error at the bottom saying “incomplete user information from Sign In with Apple” and doesn’t let you do anything about it, no idea what “information” it’s missing nor an option to provide it. Pushing along to the order process, trying to pay with Apple Pay yields a feedback-less error of “declined” no matter what card you choose in Apple Pay, until it decides to ban you. Then you can’t place an order anymore for an undetermined amount of time. Guess no food from Bartaco. ### 1/5 — Not mad. Just disappointed *2020-12-27, version 2.0* Not mad. Just disappointed. Good food, but not worth the aggravation of using this app. In this period of COVID-19, this is the worst implementation of technology to lessen the spread. Passing around a cell phone to everyone, including the wait to try and order food is exactly what should not be happening. ### 1/5 — Unforgivable *2020-10-09, version 1.2.5* If you wanted to create an app that completely destroys your brand and customer promise in a single engagement, here is your benchmark. Placing an order for delivery that then switches to pickup when no 3rd party drivers accept the job is not acceptable. Ever. Not allowing a customer to cancel an order, once it is clear their food will be made and waiting for them but with no way to pick it up in person, is not far behind. ### 1/5 — Can’t ever order!!!! *2020-10-04, version 1.2.5* the app is good for putting your name for reservations pre-Covid. However when you want to order food it takes you till the very end and then you can never fully check out. It works when it wants to. It’s just a total waste of time once you put your order together you hit the checkout button and the circle just keeps spinning and never processes your request. Try to access my favorites and won’t stay on screen so have to build reorders from scratch every single time. Uninstalled and reinstalled and lost favorite store setting. Tried to re-fav and won’t let me. But of course parts that take your money and save your card work flawlessly. And btw don’t default to an 18% tip for take out orders where all someone does is hand you a bag. Are you kidding me?? Using system when eating in restaurant also highly annoying. We automatically just ask for paper now. SO. MANY. ISSUES. Get a new app developer and do it right. Beyond frustrating and sometimes counterintuitive, esp when i just want take out. Numerous UI issues preventing cancel and backing out of pages meaning you have to close the app and start again. The web app is so much better. ### 1/5 — Terrible Consumer Experience *2022-06-15, version 2.6.8* You join the waitlist via the app to be told you need to check in within 30 minutes or lose your spot, just to drive up to find out it’s another addition 30, 45, or 60 minute wait. Don’t waste my time, tell me when to actually show up. The solution was to “wait at the bar” which had so many people at it you physically couldn’t reach it. Terrible app experience, give a more accurate wait time picture. ### 1/5 — App does not work at all *2022-05-26, version 2.6.8* Doesn’t let me join waitlist which is whole point of app ### 1/5 — Very strange concept *2022-05-18, version 2.6.8* I guess app does what is suppose to do, but the concept itself of installing an app just to wait in line is ridiculous. I expected that an app will allow me to make a reservation. ### 1/5 — You’ve Been Had By Bartaco *2022-03-19, version 2.6.4* This app has no reason to exist. It purports to create a spot “in line” for you to make a reservation, but what it’s really doing is putting you in a virtual line, which runs completely parallel to the actual “line” of reservations at the restaurant, yet never actually arrives at said restaurant (case in point, I secured a “spot in line” about 30 minutes prior to arrival via the app, only to find out there was a 45 minute wait upon arriving at the restaurant). Therefore, it has no purpose to exist, since your “spot” is only valid for an imaginary version of the restaurant, not the one you’re physically standing in right now impotently reading this review. ### 1/5 — Pointless *2022-03-05, version 2.6.4* Doesn’t tell you where you are on the waitlist…. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great Update *2021-01-21, version 2.0.2* The new version of the app is such a huge improvement over the last app. It looks amazing and functions much better than the last version. I love the menu images, the digital waitlist, Sign In with Apple and Apple Pay and the ability to easily add modifications to my order. I hope they’ll keep adding new features like favorite items and order history/reorder! Right now the hardest thing to do is finding the right location. ### 5/5 — Love the new version! *2021-01-07, version 2.0.1* The bartaco app was recently updated and wow! I am loving the improvements. It’s so easy to order and check out, the photos are great and the functionality is much improved. Tried to order and wouldn’t bring up the menu. When I tried to click on other areas to launch the menu app crashed...twice. Time for a new release. I’ll order more if the app works. Easy value prop to improve it. ### 2/5 — Takeout orders disappear *2019-02-01, version 1.0.8* I mostly use this app to order takeout. Last two times it has dropped items between selecting and paying. When you are on pay page, you can’t see that it has not charged for everything. After you pay you can see that items have been dropped. You are not charged for them. I triple checked my order this time but it happens after that. Please fix. ### 2/5 — Take out ordering needs work *2018-02-10, version 1.0.2* The app says it remembers your credit card but if you try to use a saved card you always get an “authentication error.” So you have to enter your card info again. And then your same card number is listed multiple times in the app. I wish the app were as good as the food. ### 2/5 — App Does Not Reflect In House iPad *2017-09-03, version 1.0.2* I put my group to "wait in line", and was given an incorrect wait time. Granted it may be that it was Labor Day weekend, by either way the 13 minute wait time in app is a little different than the 45 minute reality wait time. Great place either way. Would try again.
