### 5/5 — The new wave of adult friendship-making

*2025-08-25, version v1.7.1*

I’ve had such an incredible experience with Base here in Boston. At my very first event, I met some of the most incredible women who I now regularly spend time with outside of Base events. The circles boost meaningful conversations, the experiences are super fun, and the people are intentional, down to earth, and excited to connect.
Base is the new wave of meaningful adult friendship-making and I’m grateful to be a part of it!

### 5/5 — Incredible Concept

*2025-08-25, version v1.7.1*

Base provides a really great alternative to meet people that aren’t in your immediate circles like mutual friends or work while also maintaining a controlled environment. Everyone is very open to connecting and the conversations are deeper than surface level ice breakers.

### 5/5 — Base is the definition of meaningful community

*2025-08-25, version v1.7.0*

I joined Base two months ago because I wanted more than surface level networking.

Here’s the truth: Base isn’t networking. It’s connecting.

Every convo is thoughtful. Every event is intentional. Every person brings a perspective worth hearing.

The app is well designed and easy to navigate so I can focus on what matters…real conversations, real connections.

If you’re craving depth, not business cards—this is it.

### 5/5 — Finally—Third Places are back

*2025-08-22, version v1.7.0*

Americans suffer from a lack of “Third Places”—those locations aside from just work and home where they can congregate and connect with their community. Base provides opportunities to restore that crucial, lost component of modern life.

Also, Base manages to beautifully navigate cultivating a community of very professionally successful people—who still maintain humility, intellectual curiosity, and drive. I’ve really enjoyed my exposure to the members and the events, and I recommend Base to all my friends in other cities where they currently operate.

Looking forward to Base’s expansion so I can continue to seamlessly plug in to the social scene anywhere I go! (Hey guys! Please add LA/NYC soon!)

### 5/5 — Cool App

*2025-08-21, version v1.7.0*

Cool app, it’s simple to use. I’ve been able to connect with people all over the city and it honestly feels effortless. Setting up a profile and finding events is quick, and meeting new people through Base has been a smooth experience. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking to grow your network

### 5/5 — Easy to use and so helpful!

*2025-08-21, version v1.7.0*

The Base app makes signing up for events seamless for me. I can sign up in the app, get immediate Chat support and see the full calendar whenever I like. Love it, thanks for making this such a great experience!!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-08-21, version v1.7.0*

The base app has made it exceptionally easy to book different experiences to join with other members. I love how it suggests experiences for me based on my interests/profile, and how it lets me connect with other members in the app. Every time they update it, I am more and more impressed, keep up the great work!

### 5/5 — Base is everything I’ve been looking for

*2025-08-21, version v1.7.0*

I moved to Miami years ago and found myself constantly hanging around the same crowds, same environments, lacking that intellectual and high touch connection that really fosters friendships and good conversations. Until I joined Base! I’ve not only met some incredible people but I have also found myself opening up in comfortable spaces to discuss topics that actually interest me, actually have me thinking… and I always walk out with amazing memories!

### 5/5 — Love.

*2025-08-21, version v1.7.0*

Very well thought-out, and user friendly. Great updates with new features from time to time.

### 5/5 — Fun way to connect with the community!

*2025-08-21, version v1.7.0*

Base does an excellent job offering a wide array of events from nice dinners to health and wellness events, art events, tastings, etc that are customized to my city! I specifically enjoy the topics. It’s so interesting getting to speak to all types of people about psychology, personal habits, travel, healthy, sports, etc! I leave every event feeling like I’ve connected with someone that allows me a new viewpoint on life.

### 5/5 — Base has

*2025-08-21, version v1.7.0*

I have met so many genuine people through the Base app and I’ve only been a member for 3 months. They create curated events and find cool activities around my city that gives me an excuse to be social and explore. The team seems to really put thought into the details! Thank you Base!

### 5/5 — Life Changing

*2025-08-21, version v1.7.0*

This app and community has changed my life. The events that became available to me once I accepted membership are so awesome and the conversations I have with people I’ve just met are mind blowing. I feel like I’m meeting friends for life! There are so many cool things to choose from on the app. Highly recommend!!

### 5/5 — A couple of enhancement suggestions

*2025-04-07, version v1.5.5*

I’m really enjoying my time here with Base — keep up the great work!

A few suggestions that could make the experience even better:
	•	Include the day of the week alongside the event date. I often find myself flipping back and forth between the app and my calendar just to check what day it falls on.
	•	Let users choose what contact info to share. It would be ideal to default to just first name and phone number. Sharing full name and email feels like too much.
	•	A chat feature in the app would be super helpful for quick communication.
	•	More volunteering event options would be great to see.
	•	I really love the personalized dinner envelopes with your name — such a thoughtful touch!

Thanks again for creating such a welcoming and thoughtful community.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Values not aligning

*2026-04-03, version v1.7.8*

For an app/club that’s supposed to be about HUMAN connection, this company certainly isn’t valuing it. Base was great. But they just laid-off all of their city managers without any severance or notice in favor of switching to AI.
Maybe they’re losing money and about to go out of business?
But I don’t see how AI can physically make these events and build relationships with the venues we go to and make sure the space will work well in group settings, so I’m not optimistic that this business is gonna last much longer longer. I also really loved that you had to interview to get accepted, but recently heard that they’ve stopped doing that as well (probably an earlier round of layoffs).

### 1/5 — This app insults you

*2026-01-14, version v1.7.6*

This app wants to present itself as a curated social club but it’s really just an events aggregator that insults you at every turn.

On top of a subscription fee, every event costs more money. This would be fine if Base actually helped you, but instead they just give you a list and say “go for it”. No help. No suggestions.

For example, the new member event was booked solid weeks in advance and the next one was a month out on a Tuesday at noon.

And on top of everything the UX was designed by a child who wants to shove as much confusion at you at once.

No guided tours. No help from Base Inc. Disgusting

### 1/5 — Hustlers. Don’t give them your money.

*2025-10-23, version v1.7.3*

This app isn’t at all what it has presented itself to be. In short, it’s a con game: a third party interloper to make reservations, not connections.

Once I downloaded the app I was looking for the connection and social aspects promised by the recruiter. Crickets. It’s an art deco styled Yelp or Opendoor.
1) All of the experiences cost additional money. Literally nothing is included. And they’re all expensive.
2) Dinner events don’t have a menu. I’d like to know what I’m paying $150-200 for ahead of time, especially as someone with food sensitivities.
3)Where are the people? There’s no group organizer listed, no list of who is attending, no message board between the members of who is on the app. Nothing. Exactly who am I connecting with?
4) The circles and experiences are limited.
5) I messaged to cancel my membership both in the app and to the recruiter. I’ve heard nothing at all after 24 hours. On that note…
6) There isn’t anyway to delete your account or cancel the membership.

This whole thing is a racket. A con. A swindle. It’s one of the ways capitalism is trying exploit the human need for connection and the desire to have meaningful life experiences. I’m genuinely confused as to why it’s ranked so high.

I can promise you’ll have an easier time and better experiences through your local library, Meetup group, gym, or community center. And you will do so for FREE.

### 1/5 — Good Idea: Money Grab

*2025-06-27, version v1.6.4*

You pay $100 just to join, and then another $25–$100 per event. It’s basically a glorified Facebook group. Events are awkward, people show up late, and the vibe doesn’t match the branding. Most attendees are much older in the 50-60 range. Not worth the price.

### 1/5 — Rip

*2025-05-02*

Not a fan of

**Developer response:** We’re so happy you took a chance on Base - thank you for sharing this. Moving to a new city can be hard, and it’s incredibly rewarding to hear that you’ve found meaningful connections and conversations here. That’s the heart of what we’re building. Can’t wait to have you at more events soon!

### 1/5 — Scam - Cash Grab

*2025-04-20, version v1.5.7*

You pay $100 a month for an app where you can make a reservation. That’s all you’re paying for. There is no local coordinator. There is no email when you book telling you who the reservation is under. You pay and have to figure it out yourself. You don’t even know who’s showing up. It’s completely pointless

### 1/5 — Once you pay don’t expect much

*2024-11-03, version v1.4.2*

$100/mon and all events are extra $. Example dinner is $125. So one month, one event is $225 with no details and limited days available.

They keep emailing to fill out base index when I did already. Once you pay support is not responsive even when it says SLA is 2 hours.

Spend your money on better experiences!

### 1/5 — Inactive Customer Support

*2024-10-07, version v1.4.0*

I paid the $100 for the membership, downloaded the app as per the follow-up email, but my membership status was marked as inactive. I emailed customer support through the app twice, responded to 3 emails from Jasmine at new member support asking for assistance, and even reached out to the recruiter who interviewed me.

It’s been over a week and I haven’t heard back from ANY channels of communication. Additionally, I’ve received more automated emails asking me to download the app (I have, and I’m already logged in), which made me feel as though they as a company don’t truly prioritize customers and our experiences.

A shame, I was really looking forward to the opportunities this system could have potentially provided. I hope they respond to my emails soon, and if they do, I’ll be sure to come back and update this review.

### 1/5 — Not worth the money - don’t bother

*2024-08-28, version v1.3.7*

This social club is poorly organized, and the staff often comes across as entitled and defensive. For example, dinner was scheduled for 8 PM on the app, but a message was sent the day before stating that it would now be at 7 PM. This same issue occurred during our first dinner, where the incorrect time was posted, leading one person to arrive an hour early.

When I promptly informed Jasmine that I wouldn’t be available at 7 PM due to the original 8 PM timing, she quickly blamed me, suggesting I was in a different time zone. After confirming that I wasn’t, she immediately mentioned that they had already paid for dinner and couldn’t offer a full refund, even before I had a chance to discuss possible alternatives.

Given the lack of accountability and the unwillingness to address the situation, I decided to cancel my membership immediately. I hope this feedback encourages the club to improve its communication and customer service.

### 3/5 — great club but my app doesn’t work

*2025-03-24, version v1.5.3*

i’ve had so much fun at every event but for the last 2 weeks my app completely stops working for days at a time. thankfully i’ve screenshotted every address beforehand but it’s really not a great experience and semi stressful to not be able to access the app on days of events

### 5/5 — Worth every penny! Great Experiences!

*2025-09-04, version v1.7.1*

I’ve had such a great experience with Base Club. The events are always well-curated, fun-filled, and thoughtfully put together. Lauren, our city manager in Austin, TX is fantastic! She does an amazing job of making everyone feel included and welcome. I’ve met so many quality people through Base, and I genuinely look forward to each event. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Not your typical social app

*2025-08-26, version v1.7.1*

### 5/5 — Nice people deserve a nice app

*2025-08-25, version v1.7.1*

As Base is growing as a social platform, the app is evolving in quality and as a user friendly way to connect

### 5/5 — So much fun!!

*2025-08-25, version v1.7.1*

I moved from Silicon Valley back home to South Florida a few years ago. I was seriously missing the types of conversations and activities that stimulate my brain. And I was having trouble finding the kind of people I could have those types of conversations with. Base popped up when I was scrolling Instagram and I decided to apply. I’m so glad I did. The events are so much fun, like cooking classes and escape room competitions. And the matched dinners are incredible. Base truly is what I needed in my life!

### 5/5 — Curated Social Club

*2025-08-25, version v1.7.1*

Engaging private events that are both fun and educational, featuring a thoughtfully curated guest list and exceptional venue selections.

### 5/5 — Definitely worth it

*2025-08-25, version v1.7.1*

Over the years most of my friends have moved out of town and ,let’s face it, making friends as an adult isn’t always easy. Base has been a good bridge for me. I’ve met a lot of people, had some good laughs, explored new places I wouldn’t have otherwise known about — and most of all I’ve already formed a new friend group that meets outside of the Base events ! I definitely recommend it
