### 5/5 — Excellent

*2020-10-22, version 1.12.2*

Excellent implementation of the tabletop card game!!!

### 5/5 — So Good!

*2020-08-02, version 1.12.2*

This expertly combines deck building with the thematic feel of baseball. The AI is pretty good and challenging.

### 4/5 — Fun game with so much potential to be expanded on

*2020-07-23, version 1.12.2*

Overall the game is very fun to play. I do wish there was more expansions though to be quite honest. As of currently the game seems very bare if you don’t buy the 3 expansions in the game already. Money is worth it though. Reminds me of an old card game I used to play with family.

### 5/5 — Perfect for the Times we Live In

*2020-06-24, version 1.12.2*

Baseball Highlights 2045 is perfection: whether you've played the board game or not; whether you love baseball or have never watched a game, you will love this game! The app is seamless and joy to play.

### 4/5 — Fantastic game

*2020-03-26, version 1.12.2*

I enjoy the board game and love this version. The expansion makes for a variety of games. Would like to see total win loss records or stats for a team saved. Thanks for less sleep
Where are the other teams and more game content? I have read the reasons for not being updated, but it is time

### 5/5 — Awesome game

*2019-12-22, version 1.12.2*

I have almost everything for the physical version of this game. But I can play it on iOS way more often. Peter has done a great job with this. I have all the available expansions for this iOS game and would buy any more that Peter includes in the future. Go Wiffle!

### 5/5 — Great fun

*2019-12-19, version 1.12.2*

However, Cloning does not work as a visitor save when coming from the lineup deck. We should be able to choose a defensive card that has been played.

### 5/5 — Masterpiece!

*2019-09-06*

My favourite app game and an excellent adaptation of the board game. Would spend another £30+ on more cards if possible.

### 5/5 — Great Execution!

*2019-07-25, version 1.12.2*

This is a fantastic app, runs perfectly and is a ton of fun! I would highly recommend it.

### 4/5 — Great fun, needs another challenge now

*2019-04-18*

Bit of a learning curve to get the hang of it but once you’ve got it it’s great fun, however it won’t take long to get on top of the cpu on normal difficulty.

Would love to see a tougher cpu or some fresh cards/alternative decks to extend the game’s life a bit!!

### 5/5 — Buy the Hardcopy BOARD GAME!!!!!

*2019-04-09*

Amazing Board Game translated to iOS.

So much fun!!!
GO and buy the actually Board Game that has many additional expansion too!!

I own the Deluxe version of the board game.

### 4/5 — Needs work but still great

*2019-04-05, version 1.12.2*

App needs a little work just to make it look more modern. Animations can be a little much when playing someone else. Would love to see more teams and expansions added. Gameplay wise the app is worth every penny.

### 5/5 — Great, but slow down the screen shift!

*2019-03-21, version 1.12.2*

Totally fun game, fairly easy to get going. But I wish the screen could pause when the opposing player plays a card. Instead it moves back to my screen almost instantly, so I have to keep going back to see what just happened. I'd like to be able to see what is going on as it happens, instead of afterwards. Otherwise, great game!

### 5/5 — Great implementation of a great game!

*2019-03-08, version 1.12.2*

The board game itself is excellent and this digital implementation of it works very well.

### 5/5 — Diamond (ha) in the rough

*2019-01-16*

The UI is a bit rough, but don’t let that put you off a great game. Having played the iOS version many times, I think I’m going to go ahead and grab the physical version too.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Riddled with bugs

*2023-10-04*

A lot of the UI is stretched offscreen and some important buttons unresponsive. Feels like I bought the iPad version on my iPhone.

Waste of money.

### 1/5 — AI is way too hard

*2022-04-12, version 1.12.2*

Holy crap can you make it more obvious that the AI pulls every card at the right time and has all the money after each round. I can only buy one player that is mediocre and as soon as I do some 10-12 dollar player pops up and the AI buys him and one other player. Every card I play he has the counter for. I’m pretty good at the board game and thought this would be fun to have while killing time but crap I’m sticking to the board game.

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2017-08-03, version 1.10.4*

I love the board game version but the graphics issues on this make it difficult to play. Grabbing a card re-positions where your finger is so you can't move the card to where you want. In other words if you have your finger on the corner of a card, as soon as you begin to move it, the card has jumped so your now on the center of the card. And from there you can't get it to where you want to move it. Also similarly 3 times it's put a different DH in standby than the one I've tried to put there. Pretty much spoils an otherwise good game.

### 3/5 — Can we get some win/loss records!?

*2018-12-01, version 1.12.2*

Nice few updates... next update, can you please add win/loss records for solo players vs ai? Its BASEBALL. WHAT are you waiting for developer? STATS!!! WINS/LOSSES!!!

Ai wins most of the time. Would like to see my record. It (ai) ways seems to get the perfect cards... seriously, thats not fun. In multiple games in a row, the AI uses the SAME single-single-single card. Thats BS, luck... not fun.

The game tracks no overall cumulative (lifetime) stats. Not even your win/loss record. THATS BS! Play a season then world series, game ends, back to main screen. No lifetime stats to look at. Wow, thats lame. This is a digital game. Take advantage of what digital can do.

Touch zoom doesnt work where you need it. Hold-zoom works but I want the touch-zoom to work on any card, on any screen. Especially when playing on iPhone.

Btw, dont buy rally pack. It makes NO DIFF.

### 3/5 — Same solitaire as game

*2018-03-30, version 1.10.4*

I was hoping the app would be different from the physical game but it's exactly the same solitaire system. I was hoping for a team vs. team A.I. Where they build a team like I do throughout the series. Maybe in an update, hopefully.

A season would also be nice because I get bored with playing games that don ‘t lead anywhere. I played this game a lot when I 1st got it but the interest quickly faded.

**Developer response:** There are two solitaire modes included with the app. There is the normal solitaire mode from the boardgame with 5 skill levels and then there is a versus AI solitaire mode ( exactly what you are hoping for) with 2 skill levels.

### 3/5 — Great game w/ issues

*2017-08-27, version 1.10.4*

Would be 4 stars if not for glitch when clutch effects move AI's base runners one more base than they should. Would be 5 if interface was less clunky. Great game anyway. If you like the board game, you will love this. Worth the purchase even with the issues mentioned here and other reviews.

### 3/5 — Utilitarian - great game, OK app

*2016-02-11*

Having this game on an iPad is great, so 3 stars for that. The app, however, scrapes by as providing the bare minimum functionality and has obviously not had any input from a dedicated design or UX viewpoint. Apparently updates are coming, so I hope some things can be updated as it is a great playing game, packaged in a cumbersome app from yesteryear. (No save game, awkward pop ups, clip art 90s buttons) But it is a great game to play even with no AI... So support the Dev and hopefully it gets improved.

### 4/5 — Please prompt before ending buy round

*2022-09-27, version 1.12.2*

The app is generally a solid adaption of the game, which is fun. But, I wish there was a prompt before leaving the buy round screen if there are still cards that can be purchased.

I have on multiple occasions accidentally clicked the “Done” button before I was really done.

### 4/5 — Good game, but one annoying bug.

*2022-03-03*

So, I've been loving this game so far. It's a lot of fun, the pace is fast and it's not just luck. Maybe I'm bad at it, but I've only played against the computer so far and still found it pretty hard ! Here's the thing tough : you have multiple team to chose from and they're all a bit different, but if you chose any other team than the first team, be sure to finish the game in one sitting. Otherwise, there seems to be a issue where the a.i. Take the first team and you take any other, and then, when I load back in, I'm back in control of the first team and the A.i. Control the team I was playing. The score remains the same as well, so if you where having a pretty good game, good luck catching up, cause the a.i. Have your scores now... So, yeah, pretty good game, but be sure to have the time to finish a game if you start one. It's not that long to play. 15-20 minutes max once you get how things work, So it's not that big of a deal breaker and for the price, it's absolutely worth it !

### 4/5 — More expansions, pretty please?

*2020-08-19, version 1.12.2*

Since Football Highlights 2052 just came out, we know that Peter is still developing. Any chance we could get some more expansions implemented for Baseball Highlights?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Outstanding Game

*2024-08-30*

I am a fan of the table top game, this app gets played almost every day! Can’t say much more than that. It would be nice if they would add some of the additional content from the original, like more starting teams.

### 5/5 — What a Joy!

*2023-03-30*

This is such a fun boardgame and while it's very difficult to read the cards text on an iPhone, you can run this on your mac and then zoom. I play this game with a neighbor and we use the online function to play. It's just like the real board game, love it! I just wish you could crank the AI level to "expert" instead of Normal or Easy.

### 5/5 — A really fun baseball card game

*2022-06-01, version 1.12.2*

It’s been years since an update but the game still holds up really well. The AI is definitely worth playing against, and with all 3 expansions there’s plenty of variety.

### 5/5 — Very cool and original game

*2022-03-19, version 1.12.2*

Really fun and addictive twist on baseball. Wish there was a little more depth-maybe a full season mode or something similar-but still a great game. If you enjoy card games like Deck ‘Em, or any card games on iOS, this one is a worthy purchase. Honestly, if you’re considering it enough to be reading this review in the first place, just buy it. It’s worth it

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2021-12-05, version 1.12.2*

I bought this app to see I would be interested in the board game. This definitely sold me! Great implementation. I will definitely be buying the game. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Love love love!

*2021-10-29, version 1.12.2*

For any baseball fan, deck building fan or just nostalgic on MLB showdown cards. This is your game.

For the developer: any chance to add all the expansions???

### 5/5 — Great game

*2021-10-21*

I’m from the UK and still find it great fun. Not much knowledge of baseball needed, if any.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2020-11-12, version 1.12.2*

Like baseball and card drafting, you will love this. Pretty clever game that retains the baseball theme. I may have to pick up the physical game so my son and I can play.

### 5/5 — Easy to learn and excellent game play

*2020-10-30, version 1.12.2*

This game has a great tutorial and really intuitive and easy game play.
