### 3/5 — Flawed- Overstates speed

*2023-07-10*

As others have said, it doesn’t consider release point/ assumed pitcher releases from the mound. As a result speeds are 9-10% less than this tells you. They should spend a small bit of energy helping adjust for that.
But, if you just use this and adjust down by about 10%, you’ll get a pretty decent number.

### 4/5 — Wonderful

*2019-08-09*

Works great, very accurate and easy to use.

### 4/5 — Not bad

*2019-06-06*

Would have given five stars if the pitching rubber and plate had a distance point finder. Release points are only as good as camera to pinpoint.

### 3/5 — Ok, but no export functionality

*2018-10-25*

Fine for checking speed, but I’d like to be able to save and export the video.

### 4/5 — Great app, but need steady hands

*2018-07-20*

This app works really well except that when a video is a bit longer in length, the scrubber on the timeline is very sensitive to the point where lifting up your finger will accidentally advance or rewind the video a few frames or more, which results in a significantly different speed calc, especially at shorter distance settings. Perhaps a way to further “zoom in” on the timeline to have the frame separation spaced further apart would be a worthwhile effort. Great coaching tool though; helps dial in what is effective for mechanical changes and their affect on velocity.

### 4/5 — Good but

*2018-06-16*

I would give 5 star but I wish I could adjust the mound distance manually.

### 4/5 — Best app I found

*2017-07-11*

Pretty easy to use and I like having the whole video to look at.

### 4/5 — Very Good App but...

*2017-06-29*

I would gladly give this app 5 stars however there aren't enough pitching distance options. It is missing the pitching distances (43ft, 40ft, 35ft) for Girls Fastpitch or at least a custom pitching distance option.
I like this app better than the ones where you have to tap at release and tap again when the pitch is caught because I feel those apps leave too much room for error.

**Developer response:** Hi Bucket_Pinata, I specifically made a similar app for Girls Fastpitch softball which includes 35, 40, and 43 feet mount distances. You can find it by searching "softball radar gun" on the App Store. It has a purple/yellow icon. Please email me at mwnbdc@gmail.com if you have any additional questions and thank you for the positive feedback!

### 5/5 — Great App !

*2017-06-18*

Absolutely love this app ! Very easy to use and very accurate ! We have used expensive radar guns to track pitch speed and got the same reading using this app. I love the fact that it uses videos from my phone and with the frame by frame, it's very easy to pinpoint the release point and when the ball crosses the plate. Thank you for a great app !

### 5/5 — Great App!!

*2017-06-17*

I'll start by saying, I don't know this developer. But I like the concept of this app. Others make you set your phone on the ground while it calculates speed. Yea, not a fan of that when you have a bunch of 9 yr olds running around the field.

Two Thumbs up!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ok

*2025-09-14*

It is not accurate at all.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2022-06-23, version 1.0.5*

Terrible doesn’t even work. Waste of money

### 1/5 — ReSubmitting my Review

*2021-09-24*

This APP is terrific and the developer stands behind the use of the APP. I submitted a question and he responded right away with a solution. I highly recommend this App! A great way to improve speed and mechanics

### 1/5 — Just a calculator of time and distance

*2019-10-11, version 1.0.4*

No camera function. You don’t need an app for this.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2019-09-15, version 1.0.4*

This app is a waste of money I want my money back

### 1/5 — not too great

*2019-08-27, version 1.0.4*

i got this app for 3 bucks which was a waste of money and this doesn’t even work it’s a waste of money don’t buy.

### 1/5 — WASTE OF MONEY!

*2019-08-24, version 1.0.4*

This app is essentially using a stopwatch and calculating the speed with simple Division! It’s extremely difficult To get an accurate reading.

### 1/5 — This is a stopwatch.

*2018-06-21, version 1.0.1*

I did not like the app at all. It is exactly the same as the pitch counter apps. You press start when the ball is released and stop when it crosses the plate.

### 2/5 — Lacks features

*2019-11-15*

Good app but it needs the ability to export video clip that includes speed graphic and other info such as pitcher name team and event location etc

### 2/5 — Over estimates speed

*2019-08-06*

The app is really nice design but doesn’t take into account the distance from the pitching plate to the release point. So the distance is actually much shorter than the entered pitching distance so the calculated speed is too high. We tried this on our son’s 10U league and also at MLB games and it was 5 to 10 mph higher than the radar.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Learn how to use the app first!

*2023-12-11*

I don’t review apps, but I felt inclined to respond to the rash of one star ratings of this app based on not using it correctly. This app is a great option to buying an overly expensive speed gun (which aren’t accurate either unless you know how to use one). That said, it will over rate the speed if you don’t choose the exact release point and crossing home plate point as the developer states in the instructions. This app is not a tap tap stop watch. I would also add filming 90° to the mound/plate (and filing at 240fps as recommended) so you can choose the exact position of the ball leaving the hand (or mound if the pitcher’s release point still needs work ;). The developer brilliantly incorporated the mathematics behind calculating speed over a very specific distance using slo-mo video. Great job!

### 5/5 — Great

*2022-04-09, version 1.0.5*

Great accurate app uses math

### 5/5 — Well thought out app

*2020-04-21*

Well thought out app, surprisingly accurate. Easy to use as well. Only improvement I’d like to see would be to be able to go literally frame by frame for greater accuracy. But pretty on the money for ballpark of pitching speed.

### 5/5 — Meh

*2019-08-14*

ITS PRETTY GOOOOOD

### 5/5 — Very Easy to Use

*2019-04-26*

This app seems to be the easiest I’ve found. Use your own video, mark the release and when it crosses the plate. There’s nothing to it, and it’s extremely accurate.

### 5/5 — Awesome for young pitchers

*2019-03-08*

I’m a 15 year old freshman who wanted to know my velocity. I was going to buy a radar gun but I didn’t want to just in case I wasn’t good enough to pitch. This is a great investment, especially since some radar guns can be 100$+

### 5/5 — Pitching

*2018-06-13*

I love this app!! I can finally see what I can do to fix my mistakes by the frame by frame , and also if my rotation and break is good on the ball. I also used it with my batting to fix any errors I had . It really works to fix any mistakes you have in baseball , thank you !!

### 5/5 — Review

*2017-06-22, version 1.0.0*

This app was terrible

### 5/5 — Awesome App!

*2017-06-19*

Great app and easy to use. Since it works from a video it is more accurate than the ones you try to start and end while the pitcher is pitching. Great customer service too. Got back to me very quick with my question.

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2017-06-18*

Great app to have around all the time, very accurate app! I recommend highly after figuring out how easy it is to use!
