## What is Baseline?

On-device by design: recording and analysis happen on your phone. Your video and audio never leave the device.

Eight channels of analysis: voice (pitch, pace, pauses), face (expression, gaze, movement), and language.

Learns your baseline: early sessions calibrate, and your scores become meaningful as it learns what is normal for you.

Research-grounded prompts to record against, so every session gives the analysis something real to work with.

Interview mode (Pro): analyze a two-person interview - the questioner's voice is filtered out, so only the answers are scored.

Baseline is not a lie detector. It shows you where you deviate from your own patterns - a signal for self-reflection, never a verdict about you or anyone else.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-08-25

Journeys
A journey now starts by building your own baseline — a few sessions to begin, then a guided set to finish it — with a short video at each milestone and clearer guidance on what to notice while you answer.

Two people, one phone
You can share a journey with someone else and build separate baselines side by side, taking turns. Each person records against their own normal; nothing of one person’s read is shown to the other.

Fixes
Fixed a problem that could interrupt a recording, and the screen no longer sleeps part-way through a session.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-08-22

### 1.0.4 — 2026-08-18

Pathways come first

Guided pathways now lead the home screen instead of sitting below the record button, and you choose between a pathway and a straight session as soon as you finish the intro. Each one still starts by building your own baseline before it moves into its theme.

Four pathways

Self Reflection, Relationship Growth & Trust Repair, Discovery, and a new one — Validation, on the skill of making someone feel heard. Discovery has been rewritten around unfamiliar ground, changing your mind, and what genuinely lights you up.

Walk a pathway together

Two people can now take turns on one phone. You each record your own sessions against your own baseline, and the pathway screen shows how far along you both are. Nothing else crosses between you — scores, moments and recordings stay with whoever made them.

Clearer along the way

The pathway screen tells you when both baselines are established and readings start being your own. Interview mode is suggested when you are talking back and forth, and explains plainly that only the person on camera is analysed.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-17

Fixes a crash on launch

Some devices could not open Baseline after updating. That is fixed, and the video player that caused it can no longer affect startup at all.

Your read comes first

The reveal now opens with your score instead of the notes about it. Everything underneath is unchanged — the caveats are still there, just after the result rather than in front of it.

A guide that stays put

Both explainer videos, and written guidance on recording an accurate session, now live in Settings so you can come back to them any time.

Coaching in your language

The coach now speaks Spanish, French, German and Portuguese.

Clearer throughout

Guided paths state how many sessions they take before you start, calibration says plainly that it does not use your free sessions, and the results screen keeps the technical detail one tap away instead of stacked on the page.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-13

Your first read now comes first

Baseline no longer asks for setup before you have seen anything. Record straight away and get a real read; calibration is offered afterwards, once it can show you why it is worth doing.

A coach on every reveal

Each session now ends with one specific thing to try next time, drawn from the moments that were actually flagged in your recording — and the next session opens with an honest before/after on it. If a change cannot be measured, Baseline says nothing rather than inventing a number.

Video walkthroughs

Short explainers covering what Baseline does, and how to record a baseline that is actually accurate.
