## What is BaseStats?

BaseStats is the friendly way to understand your iPhone or iPad — no jargon required.

Meet your buddy
A little character that IS your phone, reacting in real time to how it feels: sleepy on low battery, warm when it's hot, stuffed when storage is full, happy when all is well.

Is my phone OK?
A single 0–100 health score answers the question everyone has, backed by a plain-English breakdown of exactly what's helping or hurting — storage, temperature, battery, power mode and more.

Every stat, explained
See a value you don't recognise? Tap the ⓘ next to it for a calm, one-paragraph explanation. IDFV, BSSID, RSS, ProMotion — all in plain language a non-techie can actually read.

Five tidy tabs
• Identity — your device's vendor identifier (IDFV), with a clear explainer of why apps can't see the hardware UUID. Copy, share, or scan as a QR code.
• Device — model, chip, OS, kernel, display, ProMotion refresh rate and more.
• Live — a real-time CPU graph plus memory, thermal state, and live accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer and barometer.
• Storage — a clean gauge, the honest free-vs-purgeable breakdown, and what BaseStats itself uses.
• Network — Wi-Fi name, IP addresses, and cellular carrier with the current radio (5G, LTE).

Share anything
Export a full diagnostic report as Markdown, JSON or CSV to send to a developer or IT — or share a beautiful spec card image of your device.

Private by design
Everything runs on your device. BaseStats never tracks you, never asks to, and shares nothing. No advertising identifier is ever read. Your data stays yours.

Now in 24 languages
Switch language instantly, right inside the app — no restart needed.

Designed for iOS 17+ · iPhone, iPad and Mac · dark-mode native.

### 1/5 — Unreliable information

*2019-02-11*

Not sure how this app is deriving the device UUID, however, what is displays is not correct nor does it match up with the real device information when cross-referencing the UUID as reporter by Apple Configurator.

**Developer response:** Hello Giuseppe :)

Thanks for the feedback. I'm currently working on a major update to the app, including a complete visual refresh.

The app actually wasn't actively maintained for many years, so some parts of it haven't kept up with changes Apple has made over time. The UUID shown in the app may not match what you see in Apple Configurator because apps no longer have access to the same device identifiers they once did.

I appreciate you reporting this, and improving the device information shown in the app is something I'm looking into as part of the ongoing update!

Welcome to BaseStats v2 — a top-to-bottom rebuild from a clean sheet.

What's new:
• All-new SwiftUI design, dark mode native, designed for iOS 17.
• Five tabs instead of one endless scroll: Identity, Device, Live, Storage, Network.
• Live 60-second CPU sparkline with colour-coded thresholds.
• Circular storage gauge with iOS-honest "purgeable cache" reporting.
• Built-in QR code for your device's vendor identifier, IDFV.
• One-tap "Send to developer" with pre-filled mail and copy-as-JSON shortcuts.
• Markdown diagnostic export for bug reports and support tickets.
• Actionable tips on every card — battery, thermal, storage, jailbreak heuristic.
• Privacy manifest filled in. Apple's privacy details warning is gone.
• iPad and Mac Catalyst support.

What v1 users will recognise:
• The same focus on showing your device's vendor identifier clearly.
• The same UUID share flow — but with a modern share sheet and an explainer about why iOS apps see IDFV instead of the hardware UUID shown by Apple Configurator.

Thanks for nine years of being patient with the old BaseStats. This one's worth the wait.
