## What is Basix?

The Basix:Mobile app for iPhone and iPad is to complement an existing Basix:Platform installation. It allows a user to run their custom mobile application and use it in conjunction with their Basix:Platform solution. A number of different applications are available from EMS to suit various business requirements.

### 2.1.5 — 2021-08-25

Fix for a bug that was stopping uploads from occurring under a particular scenario.

### 2.1.4 — 2021-08-06

* The first two welcome screens have been removed (appeared when the app was installed for the first time).
* When signing in from the welcome screen, the user is prompted to choose their environment (test/production).
* If the user cancels their sign in from the Azure B2C sign-in page, an error message is no longer shown or logged.
* Schema file updates are now specific to the environment the user is logged in to.
* Timeouts for each BMF cloud transfer increased to 15 minutes.
* Timeout for upload of all queued inspections increased to 1 hour.
* Debug sessions now log to new Development App in MS App Centre.
* Sessions from TestFlight installations now log to new Test App in MS App Centre.
* Only sessions from App Store installations log to Production App in MS App Centre (and integrate with Azure Application Insights).
* BMF files are no longer saved to local IOS file system before being uploaded to Azure. Instead, files are now uploaded directly from memory stream.
* If a file block upload is interrupted, exponential backoff retries will be applied to the block before continuing or abandoning the upload.
* When a file upload is abandoned, such as a persistent drop of internet connection, the partial file in Azure is deleted on next upload attempt and the Azure file lease is released.
* Landscape-oriented photos can now be taken.
* Photos are now resized and compressed at the time of taking photo rather than prior to uploading file.
* If image size setting is "Original" compression quality is set at 80% and if "Reduced" compression quality is set at 70%. Customers are welcome to use either setting but uploads will take longer for "Original" setting.
* Fixed crash when a photo is taken and then done or cancel button are pressed before the photo has finished being saved.
* A loading indicator is now displayed while a photo is being saved.
* Refreshing inspections through the down-swipe action will no longer result in completed inspections being uploaded. This has been changed as if completed inspections were already being uploaded from the upload tab it could cause the same file to be uploaded twice.
* Adding GPS coordinates to inspections has been made more robust.
* A new item has been added to the options menu that enables the user to specify GPS precision. Low is the default (within 10 metres). This can be changed to high if needed (higher precision means establishing coordinates takes longer).

Basix Mobile now integrates with Azure instead of DropBox for upload/download of inspections.
Users may self register and sign on to Azure AD B2C (OAuth2) using their email, Apple ID, LinkedIn or Microsoft social identities.
Condition inspections no longer require condition rating in schema.
Combo box spinner improved.
Error message for mandatory field is null now includes the field and table names.
Fixed a cross-thread call bug that would cause the application to crash when uploading files.
Maintenance label and add button made more prominent.
Metrics and error logs are now sent to MS App Centre for software improvement purposes.
Added inspection history screen accessible from options menu.
Added change/reset password screen accessible from options menu.
Removed re-uploading as no longer needed.
Improved file clean up after upload.

Remove action menu when taking photo for condition inspection as only had one item - "Take Photo"
Fixed up erase data from options menu - now will erase all currently downloaded inspections from local DB (as well as clearing out any files).
Handle upgrade so that existing inspections on device can seamlessly be associated with newly registered user.
Change sign out in options menu so that it signs user out of test and prod environments.
Remove waiting tab. Inspection uploads that are interrupted will now remain on the upload tab.
Change title ribbon and icon when user is in test environment to make it obvious that they are connected to the test environment.
