## What is Batá Pro?

Turn your rhythmic ideas into layered batá patterns with Batá Pro, a hands-on percussion instrument and pattern recorder for iPhone and iPad.

PLAY THREE INSTRUMENTS
Explore Iya, Okonkolo, and Itotele with sampled low and slap sounds. Tap the drum image to play live, or practice with the adjustable metronome.

RECORD AND BUILD LAYERS
Choose one, two, or four bars, hear a one-bar count-in, and record your performance. Triggers played during the last beat of the count-in are captured, so a slightly early first hit is not lost. Early hits play at the start of bar one. Add more parts with DUB while listening to your existing layers. Undo the latest overdub without losing the earlier parts.

SHAPE EACH INSTRUMENT
Keep your original timing or choose quarter-note, eighth-note, or sixteenth-note quantization, including triplets for each grid (1/4T, 1/8T, and 1/16T). Each instrument has its own quantize and stereo pan settings, so you can shape one part without changing the others. Double-tap the pan control to center it or the tempo slider to return to 120 BPM.

EDIT THE TEMPO
Record comfortably at a slower tempo, then adjust BPM and quantization before saving. With playback stopped, choose a tempo from 60 to 200 BPM and press Play to preview your pattern faster or slower without changing the drum sounds’ pitch. Tap the checkmark when it feels right. You can also swipe left on a saved playlist pattern, choose Tempo, and save a new BPM while keeping its layers, quantization, and pan settings.

SAVE YOUR PATTERNS
Your active workspace is saved locally so you can return to it later. Tap the checkmark to save a finished pattern to your playlist with its quantize and pan settings. Rename patterns and drag them into the order you want.

PLAY TOGETHER WITH MERGE
Build instrumental parts as separate patterns, then select Merge to hear them together in sync. Merge works with patterns that share the same tempo and bar length, preserving each pattern's saved settings and leaving the originals unchanged.

PRACTICE YOUR WAY
Use the playlist's master Play, Stop, Loop, metronome, and automatic advance controls to rehearse individual patterns or move through your list.

Batá Pro records your in-app drum performances, not microphone audio. No account is required. Patterns stay on your device, and the instruments work offline.
