Case in point: I’ve tried FIVE times this morning to open the app to read the local news. It briefly opens to their news “teasers”. When I try to open the actual digital newspaper, I’m kicked off. This instability is the ONLY thing that I can rely on to regularly happen. I’ve restarted my phone. Deleted and reinstalled the app. Nothing changes this issue. Unacceptable for an app for which we pay handsomely. ### 2/5 — Non working widget and ads even when u pay *2021-04-27, version 6.4.0* See title. Pretty much standard Gannett junk app. Widget doesn’t work again since upgrade to 14.5. Pay monthly, still have to view terribly designed ads that look like the first generation of flash. It NEVER opens on the first attempt. (I have checked to be sure I’ve updated; that is not the issue. It’s the app.) Although I am a paid subscriber, I can’t open the stories associated with this app; the “gear” just spins and spins and eventually the app closes. What’s the point of paying (handsomely, I might add) for an app to works with do little reliability? ### 1/5 — Liberal, anti-Trump articles. *2025-02-07, version 8.0.0* Have subscribed to this local newspaper for over four decades and have witnessed it’s steady decline. I’m looking for the news and not biased reporting which is slanted in many of the news items covered. And it is difficult to even open the app on a daily basis. About every two months I’m told the paper does not recognize my password…have updated it 8 times and it didn’t work again today.
