### 5/5 — Beautiful Design and Craftsmanship

*2026-05-13*

Day-one purchase for me, and this is actually my first time writing an App Store review.

Not a complaint — just a couple of minor observations regarding the app icon in dark mode:

1. It uses a true black background instead of the darker grey-to-black gradient style recommended by Apple. I understand this is likely intentional to reflect the app’s UI and aesthetic, but at times it can feel slightly out of place alongside other Home Screen icons.

2. The icon details (clock hand and numbers) always use the blue (lagoon) color, even when changing the app icon color. It might feel more cohesive if the dark icon also reflected the selected light-mode icon color.

5 out of 5 regardless — excellent work.

### 5/5 — Stunning

*2026-05-12*

This app is the epitome of the Charles Eames quote, “The details are not the details. They make the design.” Well done!

### 5/5 — The Craft of the Clock

*2026-05-11*

This is the most beautiful clock you can have on your screen. Every detail is so well done. Worth every penny.

**Developer response:** This genuinely means a lot. People like you are exactly why I keep pushing every detail as far as it can go.
Thank you Kris!

### 5/5 — Gorgeous!

*2026-05-08*

I have this app on my Mac and when it was released on iOS and iPadOS, I bought it right away.

This is such a beautiful app and each time you look at it, it’ll make you smile.

It also supports charging and standby mode, which is a nice alternative to Apple’s native options.

The developer updates the app frequently and is active with those who buy his apps.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much, this genuinely made my day!
There's more to come.

### 5/5 — Respect the craft 🫡

*2026-05-07, version 1.0.2*

Obviously not cheap but if you appreciate quality then this clock is top pick. Been using Bauhaus Clock as Mac Wallpaper for 2+ years and it’s beautiful. In a world of slop, this truly stands out.

### 5/5 — Beautiful clock

*2026-05-07, version 1.0.2*

The same beautiful clock from Mac now on iOS. Really like the new dual time mode.

### 5/5 — Worth it.

*2026-05-07, version 1.0.2*

Don’t quibble about price. The kind of care and attention that’s required for this kind of app deserves reward. You get what you pay for.

### 5/5 — Pure Design Love

*2026-05-07*

I’ve been using on Mac for a long time already, so I was incredibly happy when the iOS app finally arrived.

One of my favorite details is that it automatically starts when the phone is charging. That little moment when the clock slowly appears in a dark room on my Mac’s and now also on the phone just feels special every single time.

You can truly feel the love for detail and the appreciation for great design throughout the entire app.
The animations, the dark mode, the overall atmosphere — everything feels beautifully crafted and intentional.

Thank you for this, Atilla.
If I could, I’d give more than 5 stars.

For me, this is the perfect screensaver.

**Developer response:** This made me stop and read it twice. "The clock slowly appearing in a dark room" is exactly the feeling I was chasing when I built the auto-launch on charging feature. Thank you for following from Mac to iOS, and for words like these. Reviews like this are why I keep going. There is more to come, enjoy!

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-05-07, version 1.0.2*

Really nice options. And best of all no subscription. Would be an ideal click for standby.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2026-05-06*

So nice!

### 5/5 — Absolutely Radiant

*2026-05-06*

“The details are not the details. They make the design.” — Charles Eames.

**Developer response:** You couldn't have picked a more fitting quote. Thank you for this and enjoy!

### 5/5 — The Best .Period

*2026-05-05*

Hands down the best clock app in the App Store.

**Developer response:** That's the goal. Thank you so much. There is more to come, enjoy!

### 3/5 — Not totally sure how I feel about this one…

*2026-05-12, version 1.0.2*

I’ve had Bauhaus Clock on my Mac for ages now and absolutely love it. It’s probably the perfect screen saver! I love watches and clocks, and Atilla really did an amazing job capturing the “feel” of the movements, as well as the aesthetic of a real clock. As such, I bought this the second it released, and… idk.

Compared to the MacOS version, this just doesn’t feel as polished or as good of a value proposition to me. I fully understand the development limitations here, but something about the flow of opening the app when charging just feels a bit janky, and so I’m currently just using this app for the widget. The worst part is that I’m not entirely sure what could be done to fix this. Maybe iOS just isn’t the right platform for this sort of app? At least in its current state. I also feel like this should be about half the price, personally, or at least discounted for people who already own Bauhaus Clock on Mac.

I love the vision, Atilla, and I’ll continue to support your pursuit of excellence, but something’s off with this app and I unfortunately can’t put my finger on it just yet.

### 5/5 — Oh my god I just paid 19 dollars (?) for a clock widget.

*2026-08-12*

I assumed this was like, functional clock wallpaper, or something, which seemed cool; it is on me for not reading. It’s not that, it’s a clock widget, which I already had, from the clock app on my phone. I guess you can make this one green, so there’s that. I’m giving it five stars because it does exactly what it says it does—be a clock widget—perfectly well, and because I respect a good grift.

### 5/5 — A Work of Art

*2026-06-05*

The attention to detail is unlike any app I have ever interacted with.

Atilla is a super nice guy too! Very responsive with any questions I had and took the time to explain everything thoroughly.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the great review Will. There is more to come to Bauhaus Clock. Enjoy!

### 5/5 — Awesome app

Everything about this app is super cool

**Developer response:** Thank you Adi! Enjoy!

### 5/5 — Turn something ordinary into a small moment of appreciation.

*2026-06-03*

Bauhaus Clock is one of those rare apps that turns something as ordinary as checking the time into a small moment of appreciation. Every element feels carefully balanced, from the proportions of the dial to the movement of the hands. The design stays true to the Bauhaus philosophy, where simplicity and function work together without sacrificing beauty.

What I enjoy most is watching the hands sweep across the face. The animation is so smooth and deliberate that it feels less like a digital display and more like a finely tuned mechanical instrument. There’s a subtle sense of weight and precision to the movement, almost as if gears and springs are working behind the glass.

Many clock apps simply display the time. Bauhaus Clock creates the impression of a crafted object. The attention to detail, restrained color palette, and thoughtful motion make it feel like you’re looking at a beautifully engineered timepiece rather than pixels on a screen. It’s a small app, but one that demonstrates how great design can elevate even the simplest experience.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. Reading that Bauhaus Clock creates a small moment of appreciation in people's lives means a lot to me.

Creating something that feels more like a crafted instrument than a digital display was exactly the goal. Thank you for noticing the details and for sharing such a thoughtful and generous review.

Enjoy!

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-06-01*

One minor request: option to make the second hand visible in dark mode.
Also what about an Apple Watch face?

### 5/5 — Great

### 5/5 — Inspiring project

*2026-05-18, version 1.0.3*

This is more than just a time keeper. It is a work of art. I have bought both the mac version and the ipad/iPhone versions. Atilla takes great care to make everything accurate and as close to perfection as any human could possibly achieve. I love it.

### 5/5 — Just What I Expected - Beautiful!

*2026-05-17*

I’ve been a user of the Bauhaus Clock for desktop and it’s beautiful. When I saw the app was now available for iPhone and iPad, I made the purchase without hesitation.
The clock looks wonderful on both iPad and iPhone. The new dual clock feature is gorgeous as well.
Whatever else Atilla has in the pipeline of apps, count me in!
499 stars!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your support Ben! It means a lot to hear from someone who has been using Bauhaus Clock on the desktop and decided to come along for the iPhone and iPad version as well. Seeing the app find a place on different devices and in people’s daily lives is incredibly rewarding. Truly greatful for this.

There's more to come to Bauhaus Clock in future. Enjoy!
