bavarikon 3D präsentiert ausgewählte, hochrangige Objekte aus bayerischen Kultureinrichungen als aufwändig digitalisierte 3D-Objekte. Bei den 3D-Objekten handelt es sich um Skulpturen, Plastiken, historische Globen, mittelalterliche Handschriften und vieles mehr. Sie können gestengesteuert auf dem Touchscreen von iPad und iPhone beliebig hin- und her gewendet, gedreht und in alle Richtungen bewegt werden. Die hochauflösende Digitalisierung erlaubt das Hineinzoomen zur genauen Betrachtung von Details der Objekte. bavarikon 3D vermittelt auf einzigartige Weise  eine unmittelbare, gleichsam haptische Erfahrung der virtuellen 3D-Kunstobjekte. Die Betrachtung der Originale im Museum wird so um ein erweitertes, nur im Digitalen mögliches Kunsterlebnis ergänzt. bavarikon 3D wird laufend um  neue Objekte erweitert. Über die Bereitstellung eines neuen Objekts werden Sie per Push-Nachricht informiert. Beschreibungen der Objekte und der besitzenden Kultureinrichtungen laden zu einer vertieften Beschäftigung mit den digitalisierten Exponaten ein.
