## What is Bazu?

Eat better. Live healthier. It starts with a scan.

Bazu is the food scanner for sugar. Point it at any food and in seconds you'll see how nutritious it really is, how big a spike it causes, and a better swap. All before your first bite. This is nutrition done right, made beautifully simple, fun, and accurate.

SCAN ANYTHING. EVERY WAY.
Snap a photo. Scan a barcode. Or just type it. You can even combine all three on a single meal, something no other app does. However you eat, Bazu reads it instantly. No need to search for foods one by one in a database to log them. And unlike your typical AI calorie scanner, Bazu tells the foods on a plate apart. Bazu splits your meals by food for easy and quick review super accurately.

THE BAZU SCORE. ONE HONEST NUMBER.
Every food earns a score from 0 to 100, built from more than 10 nutrition signals and weighted by real research. It celebrates whole, clean, low-sugar food and comes down hard on sugar, grease, and the ultra-processed. Nothing is hidden. Tap any score and see exactly what drove it.

SEE THE SPIKE BEFORE YOU EAT.
Bazu predicts how a food moves blood sugar from the food itself. No monitor, nothing to wear. An apple and almonds barely move the needle. A soda sends it soaring. Now you know which is which, before you decide.

A GENTLER SWAP, EVERY TIME.
Scanned something that spikes? Bazu finds a higher-scoring, lower-spike alternative for the same craving. Same satisfaction. Steadier energy.

NUTRITION THAT FINALLY MAKES SENSE.
Not another calorie counter to obsess over reaching targets. Bazu shows whether you're eating more, less, or the same, nutrient by nutrient, and whether you're truly moving toward your goal. See your day at a glance. Watch the weekly and monthly trends. Follow a clean six-month picture of how you really eat. No targets to chase. Just real, effortless progress, built around you, built around your averages.

YOUR WHOLE DAY ON ONE CURVE.
Every meal you log shapes a full day's glucose curve. No CGM required. Have one? Bazu places your real curve right beside its estimate, so you can watch how closely it tracks.

HEALTHY HABITS, ACTUALLY FUN.
Earn XP, build streaks, unlock achievements, and rank up the more you log. Getting healthier has never felt this good.

Eat with confidence, starting today. Scan any food free.

Bazu is a wellness and nutrition tool for healthy, glucose-conscious people. Predicted glucose curves are illustrative estimates for general wellness, not medical advice or measurements. ### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2026-08-19*

Amazing tool to be conscious of what you are eating. My favorite part is the camera feature, it works incredibly well with home cooked meals, super helpful!!!!!

### 5/5 — Finally a glucose app that is fun and just works!

*2026-08-18*

I’ve tried several glucose tracking apps and this one stuck. Logging data takes seconds and the charts actually make it essy to spot patterns. The interface is simple, fast and actually super fun. The app makes the daily routine genuinely easier. Love Bazu!

### 5/5 — The best app

*2026-08-12*

So I found this app on Facebook so glad I did I love how I can see the curve with my Glucose levels and how it connects directly to Dexcom G7 10 day sensor, I’m so glad to have this app because it helps me know ahead of time what my numbers will look like after a certain time frame. I already recommend the app to my sister since she told me she also is trying to eat healthier.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the kind review! We're so glad Bazu is helping you see what's coming before you eat, and it's great to hear your Dexcom readings are flowing in through Apple Health. Thank you for passing it along to your sister too. Spike less, live more!

### 5/5 — The score is what sold me

*2026-07-24*

My breakfast was scoring in the 40s. Switched to something in the 80s and I stopped getting sleepy by mid morning. That's it, that's the whole app for me, but there’s much more. Really cool.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the awesome review! We're so glad the score made the difference clear, and that a higher scoring breakfast has been working out for you. That swap is exactly what we built Bazu for, and there's plenty more in there whenever you want it. Spike less, live more!

### 5/5 — The curve is great

*2026-07-24*

I scan stuff before I eat it and it shows the curve I'd get. flat line vs a big rise, choice is obvious. it also stacks all my meals into one curve for the whole day which i didn't expect. really good app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the great review! We're thrilled the curve makes the choice obvious before you eat, and the full day view is one of our favorite parts too. Scanning first is exactly how we hoped Bazu would be used. Spike less, live more!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1.4 — 2026-08-28

• The spike reading on a scan is now the worse of the two things it measures, the carb load and the peak of the predicted curve. A meal that peaks high no longer reads gentle just because the rest of the plate softens it.
• Small portions of dense whole foods score the way they actually behave. A few almonds, a square of dark chocolate or a small bowl of popcorn no longer take a full-size penalty.
• Listing the oil you cooked with no longer counts that fat twice on top of what the recipe already assumes.
• Your 30-day score now weighs each meal by its size and each day by how recent it is, so one small snack no longer moves your month like a dinner. The trend compares your last 30 days against the 30 before them.
• You can now leave the Plus screens straight to the free plan instead of only closing them.
• Fixes: an added sugar card that read "over" above an empty progress bar, and the "usually" amounts on your nutrition snapshot settling after two days of logging instead of two weeks.

### 2.1.3 — 2026-08-22

• Improve this meal now works on meals you already logged. Reopen a meal from your history and you get the same add, reduce and remove suggestions a fresh scan gives you.
• Added sugar is now read by the model instead of a word list. Bazu works out how much of a food's sugar was added, so desserts, syrups and pastries score honestly instead of slipping through.
• Better suggestions. More variety, no repeated rows, and a savory plate with no vegetables always gets one vegetable option.
• Sharper glucose curves. Real curve shapes instead of one shape at different heights, an honest time axis, a smooth overnight transition, and less noise on the home day view.
• If you log glucose, the predicted curve now sits next to your own past readings for that same meal, with the average and both peaks side by side.
• More accurate photo scanning.
• Fixes: long CGM traces no longer look cut off, swap names are fully readable, and the meal detail pills line up again.

### 2.1.2 — 2026-08-21

Fixed the number and date wheels. On some screens they showed "..." instead of the actual values, including the birthday step when you set up your account.

### 2.1.1 — 2026-08-15

A few small and big improvements:
• Scan a packaged food and see better options from the same shelf, ranked by score, with the full list one tap away.
• See what is actually in a packaged food. Ingredients are grouped by additive class, with a plain explanation of what each class is.
• Many more packaged products now show an ingredients verdict, including ones that came back blank before.
• Your scan history now keeps the photo you took, so you can tell two scans of the same shelf apart.
• Free users can now see their own scan count and average score on the dashboard.
• Scan a real food during setup and see its score before you sign up.
• Bazu is now free to keep using, with three scans a month. No subscription needed.
• Allulose and erythritol no longer count toward a food's carb load, so foods sweetened with them score the way they actually behave.
• Restoring a purchase now takes you through the same celebration and reward screens as buying.
• Swiping back during setup goes back one screen instead of restarting signup.
• Celebration screens now read correctly in dark mode.
• Sharper artwork for the food examples in the intro, and the examples now match the current score.
• Fixes: the upgrade screen getting stuck on a loading spinner, the free scan counter reading "Running low" when your scans are full, plan prices blanking out mid purchase, a skipped scan showing an earlier result, and the tutorial charts describing a color the card does not use.

### 2.1.0 — 2026-08-09

Lots of updates:
• Bazu Score rebuilt. One scoring basis, so a product scores the same whether you scan it or log it.
• Tap any score to see exactly what helped and what hurt it, with badges for sugar, fat, processing and fiber.
• One spike verdict everywhere. The same word and color across scans, meals, history and filters.
• Glycemic index and load numbers are gone. The spike meter is the answer.
• Predicted glucose curve is now a card with a bigger chart, a shaded fill and the peak called out.
• New tap through explainers for the score and the curve.
• Nutrition facts easier to read. Meal totals up top, one compact row per food below, calories first, tap for the full breakdown.
• Change a serving size or swipe to delete a food right from the list.
• Insights rebuilt with real, meal grounded advice, and it no longer loads twice.
• Weight goal onboarding is now a single drag to balance screen with a live projection.
• Fixes: tab bar icons on the newest iOS, scan editing races that could show a stale score, a stuck Log button, meal titles after adding or removing foods, and opening a deleted meal.
