## Newest reviews (14 of 591)

### 2/5 — Bias

*2026-09-08, version 9.20.0*

So so biased it’s untrue, get a life

### 3/5 — Independent

*2026-09-08, version 9.20.0*

It’s just a pity it’s a left wing political channel.

### 4/5 — Easy to read the main points of the day and local news

*2026-09-08, version 9.20.0*

The only bad points are that when scrolling down, a slight movement of your thumb left or right can move you to another article. Also, the app can struggle to load in poor reception areas.

### 2/5 — Infuriating video player

*2026-09-08, version 9.20.0*

Having your videos stop every time you try to scroll whilst reading the article when wanting to play in the background is infuriating. The issue is persistent even when in Picture in Picture mode. Who on earth decided this was a good idea?

### 3/5 — Repetition

*2026-09-07, version 9.20.0*

I find this app very annoying because they have the same news stories on for many days repeat repeat repeat. Is this because they have no other news worthy stories to include.
I also am extremely disappointed with HYS. Some of the contributors write really nasty views on there and never get censored, I get refused 50% of the time due to telling the truth that the BBC don’t like to hear

### 4/5 — Repeat, repeat, repeat!

*2026-09-07, version 9.20.0*

Far too many repeated items! It’s like Teletubbies news. “Again, again!”

### 3/5 — Where are the photos.

*2026-09-06, version 9.19.0*

I love the BBC news app as it strikes the right balance of interest, inform, inspire but I miss the photo articles - there were two at the end of the scroll. Bring them back please!

### 2/5 — Biased

*2026-09-06, version 9.19.0*

Biased and partisan

### 2/5 — BBC news

*2026-09-06, version 9.19.0*

It’s not as easy to find stories as on the Pc and you don’t seem to cover things like Iran very well . I find Al Jazeera much better for world news , and the Mail for Uk news

### 3/5 — Repeating news

*2026-09-06, version 9.19.0*

Good honest reviews but the number of times the same story appears is very annoying. In addition, the headlines can be very misleading. For example, it appears Iran attacked the ships, if, indeed it was them, in retaliation to Americas violation of the agreement regarding sanctions.
Same review as before as nothing seems to have changed.

### 2/5 — Poor Update Validation

*2026-09-05, version 7.8.0*

With the latest released I cannot view or read the description of the Verify Section on my IPhone 7 Plus. Do the programmers fail to be aware if they use new features from the latest technology it is likely they may not work on earlier versions of an IPhone. You only need to stop it updating if it is unlikely to work on older equipment. Phones are expensive, and who can afford to update every year at a cost of £1,000+.

Also I can no longer play the Weekly Quiz, it just will not load. No comment to say why, nothing happens. 😢

### 3/5 — Inflexible software

*2026-09-05, version 9.19.0*

News quality pretty good overall but the typeface for a tablet reader cannot be enlarged. This needs sorting out.

### 3/5 — Not C4

*2026-09-04, version 9.19.0*

Sadly the BBC is not the force it used to be, nor my go to source of information. I’ve preferred Channel 4 for some time now.

### 3/5 — Inconsistent UI

*2026-09-03, version 9.19.0*

When push comes to shove, and like many people in the UK, I head for the BBC when there’s a big news story breaking. Still broadly impartial, and with a news agenda set on its own merits, rather than clickbait or an editorial bias.

But honestly, it should be better than this. Never mind the tabloid style journalism (one sentence per paragraph) or the shocking absence of basic details, but the inconsistent UI.

Want to email an article to a friend? Well sometimes it will include the headline in the email’s subject line; but mostly it won’t. You have to copy and paste that in yourself.

Want a closer like at that photo? Well sometimes you can double tap and enlarge it, but just as often you can’t. And if a photo thumbnail catches your attention on the homepage, don’t think you’ll get a closer look within the article. It won’t necessarily be included.

Things to like: special shoutout for some good in-depth articles, as well as ‘BBC Verify’—essential in this age of BS and misinformation.

Getting the mechanics of the app right, and not reporting the news as if we’re children, would go a long way to making this a 5-star app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — BBC

*2026-09-08, version 9.20.0*

Biased Bigoted Commentary

### 1/5 — A licence for this??

*2026-09-07, version 9.20.0*

I pay £180 a year for this biased, one sided, propaganda from the BBC. For years they have been telling us what to think and believe. Yet, they hide and protect those that have done harm. They told us our houses will loose value, if we voted for Brexit. Never happened. They give us humanitarian stories about illegal migration which are made up.

### 1/5 — Politically biased

*2026-09-07, version 9.19.0*

I can’t trust the BBC after such heavy woke and left wing bias. I only want the sports coverage but am being forced to pay for the BBC to attempt to indoctrinate me in all other areas. Shocking

### 1/5 — Totally biased channel

*2026-09-06, version 9.19.0*

I believe the channel does not represent the vast majority of the British people views leaning too far to left with woke leftist broadcasters and interviewers.
The news is poor, with the editors telling the presenters what to say via their autocues.
Also your presenters are not aggressive enough with their soft approach techniques when interviewing politicians.

### 1/5 — BBC propaganda

*2026-09-04, version 9.19.0*

I simply have no faith in BBC News. They are obsessed with bringing down Farage. They are economical with the truth. They are trapped in the multiculturalism, ‘diversity is our strength’ nonsense mindset. They are anti-Brexit. They do not represent white, working class people. All of this is often reflected on the BBC News app. Furthermore, why are no comments allowed in relation to news items? Although, having said that , if they did they would police the comments to the point of ultra-blandness and political correctness. Sigh!

### 1/5 — Lost credibility

*2026-09-04, version 9.19.0*

Left leaning, lack of balance, woke!

### 1/5 — Faulty app

*2026-09-04, version 9.19.0*

Despite contracting BBC News app on lots of occasions, the app still remains faulty and constantly freezes and does not scroll easily when are they going to sort this issue out? I know I’m not alone.

### 1/5 — Going downhill

*2026-09-04, version 9.19.0*

While the BBC still has a few wonderful journalists, the BBC News app is weak. Too many stories are repeated. Too much glory to reform uk.

### 1/5 — Bias Pro Israel Reporting

*2026-09-03, version 9.19.0*

Used to love BBC News until it’s been repeatedly proven how biased the reporting is. And the recent headline about bombing of a wedding in Iran shows another terrible bias.

### 1/5 — Biased

*2026-09-03, version 9.19.0*

Very biased

### 5/5 — BBC news IS The News

*2026-09-04, version 9.19.0*

In a maelstrom world of confected opinions and billionaire owned “news” channels, the BBC is still the most reliable source for balanced, researched and fair reportage.

### 5/5 — Great News App
