### 4/5 — Marketing Update

*2026-09-07, version 9.20.0*

The new revamp of the app is well received and a positive step forwards by Britain’s traditional broadcasting channel. Would be great if they could nail the basics such as live updates for all professional games (rugby) etc.

### 4/5 — Watch App

*2026-09-07, version 9.20.0*

Would like a watch app to listen while working out

### 2/5 — Does anyone actual test releases

*2026-09-05, version 5.7.0*

I have an iPhone 7 Plus and the latest changes are rubbish. I enter my local Football club who are in League 1 and it sticks on the Championship, it does not give me my team so I cannot see were they are in their table.

Please do not say upgrade the phone, they are expensive, it is down to the programmers to ensure that they work, and if they cannot because of latest technology in the phone then do not let it upgrade. Pretty simple, and while you are about it BBC News has the same problem with the Video and Description at the front of the app, they no longer work !!!

BBC seens to still on give information on sport they think are important and ignore news on other sports. I had to look elsewhere for latest news on Pogacar following his crash. There is other sport besides football which is all the BBC seems to think is played. Just look at the sport on BBC News !!!

### 3/5 — Issue with live activities

*2026-09-05, version 9.19.0*

In the recent update scores should show as live activities, however they only show that a match will kick off and not the score

### 4/5 — Update

*2026-09-03, version 9.19.0*

Great app until you decide to update the one your using and then find out that your older iPad doesn’t support the latest version , there goes the app

### 2/5 — Letting GB tennis wither on the vine

*2026-09-03, version 9.19.0*

bbc tennis reporting is bizarre. We have very little success except in men’s doubles, but it has hardly ever been reported. The correspondents seem (from their writing) to sit through hours of tedious play. Elsewhere in the grounds British players were smashing it. That’s all over now, but the bbc tennis correspondents haven’t failed to report new format doubles. This wasn’t a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it narrative arc in men’s doubles. It took two decades to achieve and lasted a decade. But it’s over now and no one looking to find out now or in future what happened will find any proper reporting on this British sports news website. Helpful for scriptwriters wanting generic background characters to have names and faces to hand.

### 3/5 — Great app except one big problem

*2026-09-02, version 9.19.0*

I love the app for depth and range of sports, the ability to personalise your feed and the quizzes!

However the shorts that have been introduced auto play whenever I move off the app, including with sound. I don’t even think the shorts are needed, but now I dread opening the app as the shorts just auto play when I close it

### 3/5 — Ken Alker

*2026-08-31, version 9.19.0*

Me and all my family are season-card holders and have been long time supporters of Wigan Athletic FC for many many years now.
Why only 3-star rating!
There is nowhere near enough in-depth coverage, particularly from League 1 downwards.
The BBC needs to realise that not everybody follows the Premier League.
In fact, the majority of football fans in the UK don’t.
Please take note.
Hope you do.
Thanks,
Ken Alker.

### 4/5 — Useful information news

*2026-08-30, version 9.19.0*

Worth have win or lost

### 5/5 — Very Precise

*2026-08-30, version 9.19.0*

Always get good bite-sized information that I can read on the go. Like the scores section precise and detailed. Covers all the sports so it’s good for everyone to follow.

### 5/5 — Woke bbc

*2026-08-30, version 9.19.0*

Fast to back track when someone has a different point of view?

Freedom of speech if they agreed with your opinion.

If not bye bye .

### 3/5 — Latest release bugs

*2026-08-29, version 9.19.0*

Latest release has lots of screen freezes mid scroll. Running on iPhone 13 and iOS 26.6.

Also, why doesn’t my favourited team news (Ipswich) ever appear on the app Home Screen?

### 5/5 — Tangaroa

*2026-08-29, version 9.19.0*

Excellent app, easy to use and navigate. Can set up alerts for your team etc. I know something is official once it’s reported on BBC Sport 😉

### 4/5 — Sports stuff

*2026-08-29, version 9.19.0*

I like it, particularly football. Cycling coverage I look for next.

### 5/5 — SO FREAKIN GOODDD

*2026-08-28, version 9.19.0*

A really good app that keeps me up to date on all my favourite sports, say for example I know there’s a match on but I can’t watch it for any reason I’ll just go on at anytime and see the live score, or if I’m in class and there’s f1 practice I can listen live and get live updates whilst in class and it’s always up to date on the live scores and says the score or f1 standing or whatever you like watching it will more or less always say the scores or standings live and gone live listen instead of watching the match or the race or whatever you like watching sports wise

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Very poor

*2026-09-07, version 9.20.0*

Limited coverage of football, absolutely besotted with Premier League. Need to differentiate between Woman’s Football and the men’s game. Poor journalism, lack of knowledge and that is just one part ofthe coverage. Cricket, Rugby suffer the same slap dash approach.

### 1/5 — Football biased

*2026-09-07, version 9.20.0*

The BBC is too heavily biased towards football on both the bbc sport app and uts radio channels.

Other sports are left with small amounts of content.

On the radio, football stories come first over England men’s and women’s international cricket matches which is just appalling.

### 1/5 — Glitches

*2026-09-06, version 9.19.0*

Very glitchy with crashes and regular pages skipping issues. Shame really as this lets down the excellent content.

### 1/5 — Poor

*2026-09-04, version 9.19.0*

Accidentally went on to site do not like BBC and there way of reporting looking to stop paying licence fee

### 1/5 — Terrible use experience

*2026-08-29, version 9.19.0*

The app repeat the feed when scrolling through the team feed, and goes back to the top of the feed. When you click on a video story the app completely freezes.

Removing and reinstalling the does not fix the issue.

### 1/5 — Recent changes

*2026-08-21, version 9.18.0*

starts playing audio out loud on my iPhone and i can’t seem to stop it. When the iPhone is on silent the app streams involuntarily using data. Why is there no option to switch off the streaming tab on the app?

### 1/5 — Hate new format

*2026-08-21, version 9.18.0*

Think waste of Licence holders money, you take sport from the TVs due to saving money but waste it on the site??? Deleted app & installed better sport apps!!!

If ain’t broke, don’t change for worse

### 1/5 — Too Sensational

*2026-08-20, version 9.18.0*

The BBC sports App is poor. It tries to manufacture stories where there aren’t any particularly in football. The headlines are often in the sensationalist in style of tabloid newspaper but when you read the story it doesn’t back up the headline. The cricket journalism is particularly poor. The whole reporting of sport lacks a proper perspective. The BBC charter talks of its roll being to inform and educate, the sports App ignores that and looks to manufacture stories and controversy when there is none. Finally I object to disrespectful language used to describe losers ‘thrashed’ being a particular bug bear, implying the opposition didn’t try, just report the game don’t be so judgmental! BBC you are better than that !

### 1/5 — Limited

*2026-08-20, version 9.18.0*

BBC Sport is only interested in certain football clubs and limited to the Premier League. EFL doesn’t exist in your eyes. Posts are left in for weeks. Lazy journalism is rife at the BBC

### 1/5 — BBC

*2026-08-19, version 9.18.0*

Too many left wing antics. Even with sport
