It’s been like this for a while. The forecast is overly pessimistic. The forecast for the day is selected from the worst of the weather during the 24 hour period. Which just seems mad. The dark cloud with the single raindrop makes it look like a miserable day ahead, but almost always it is not. The most recent functionality of swiping left right and up down is counter to how the app used to work and I still haven’t adjusted, it’s really annoying. Who decided this was a good idea! Despite all this there is a lot to like about the app, but there are quite a few rough edges that just don’t seem to be attended to. ### 2/5 — Not very accurate *2026-08-02, version 4.19.0* I love the BBC, but I’m afraid the weather app is not providing a good service. The icons summarising the hourly forecast are generally inaccurate and give a misleading interpretation. Consistently forecasts wetter conditions than turns out to be the case especially for Northern Ireland. ### 1/5 — Ridiculous *2026-08-05, version 4.19.0* BBC weather can’t even predict the weather on the day, says sunny all day at 9am in the morning and then when it starts raining at z9.10am changes to showers !!! Surely weather forecast can be more accurate than this and not just change when something actually happens. Yesterday it said sunny all day but was thick cloud all day. Absolutely pointless to look at bbc weather anymore ### 1/5 — Completely wrong *2026-08-05, version 4.19.0* I usually only use the BBC Weather app but compared to Apple’s weather app it was completely wrong this morning. ### 1/5 — Persistent inaccuracies *2026-08-01, version 4.19.0* This app keeps issuing wildly inaccurate medium-range forecasts, in particular forecasting *several days* of rain for a week or so in advance that don't materialise. The UK's Met Office gives general forecasts for the same range and none of the detail here. It's misleading, gives people false hope and worsens water shortages because people don't economise if they think the drought is nearly over. Cut this out! ### 1/5 — Symbols! *2026-07-30, version 4.19.0* If there is a very slight chance of rain the only symbol that appears on that day is a rain cloud. It should be sun with a very slight chance of rain! At least you could then plan ahead! ### 1/5 — Latest update *2026-07-26, version 4.18.0* Honestly this app has gone down hill in the last 6 months. I used to use it every day. Now I find it difficult to view the breakdown of the weather throughout the day and also moving between saved locations is harder. Apart from that the forecast is ok ### 5/5 — It’s all in the palm of your hands☀️☔️💨⚡️ *2026-08-13, version 4.20.0* As the title says the weather prediction is there right in the palm of your hands, wherever you are or wherever you’re planning to go you can instantly see the weather for your day ahead or week ahead. The BBC will keep you up to speed with sudden weather alerts so you can plan ahead safely, most of all this app has everything you need.I’d say pretty prefect 😀 ### 5/5 — Weather App *2026-08-11, version 4.19.0* I find it very useful to see what the weather is like especially when working out when to take my dog for a walk. However one problem is the locations ….. it doesn’t have as many locations as basic weather apps . Like if I go on safari and search up like a village in a random county like let’s say in Germany , it comes up ! They need to add more places onto the app because it affects the accuracy ! If they don’t have your location they do the nearest one which could literally be in another country!
