Before the last update, it was super fast, now it is just pitiful. I can be standing inside a location, trying to check in and it always says “Not Close Enough” This has happened on multiple occasions and it is very frustrating? Also my previous check ins from the last version of the app have disappeared? I checked address and it is correct. When I do directions, the phone is across the Street from the bar. You could collect points when you went to a brewery and it gave info on the breweries around you. Was a cool app. But they recently changed it and now it is pretty crappy. Can’t see how many points you have. Says you already collected points when you didn’t etc. disappointing! ### 2/5 — Fix the Location Accuracy *2024-09-20, version 2.0.13* I love the concept of the app and the Ale Trail itself is a great way to market BC’s amazing craft beer, but nearly every check-in is a fight with the app to acknowledge the location. I’m writing this while sitting in the middle of Steamworks in Vancouver, and getting “too far away” when I try to check in. ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2024-09-19, version 2.0.13* App won’t even open. Cannot locate a person when he is inside the physical brewery. Crashes within seconds. Missing thousands of points. What can you use points for? Same con artists that designed Alberta Ale Trail App. It had all the same issues. And forget about getting tech support. I’ve used this app for over many years and always told people to download it. I’ve walked around the brewery looking for where I need to check in, but it’s not working. It’s showing the brewery at the right location so who knows what’s going on. Created an account, and tried to verify, to which it says that the verification email was sent to my inbox. Nothing was ever sent. Checked spam/junk and still nothing. I reached out on IG and they told me I didn’t have an account. I took a screenshot of me trying to log in, where it shows that the email is already registered, and still nothing. I’ve been waiting for over a month for a resolution…. Time for another developer to create an app that actually works! The concept is great and fun! Just need an app that works…. ### 1/5 — Not Receiving Verification Email *2026-05-14, version 26.02.18* Both my wife and I downloaded the app and created an account. One of us on an Android device and the other on an iPhone. Once registered and set to go, we both attempt to login but can’t until our emails are verified. The app says an email has been sent but neither of us received one. We check our junk mail and nothing there either. We’ve both requested resend of verification email and nothing ever shows up. I’ve now tried about 10 times to no avail. Time to delete the app. ### 1/5 — It doesn’t work. *2025-05-24, version 2.1.0* It doesn’t work on my iPad. IOS 18.5 ### 1/5 — Version 2 update HORRIBLE *2025-03-31, version 2.0.20* This has got to be one of the worst app updates I’ve ever seen. The design, while attempting to be modern, is extremely difficult to understand. The icons you chose are not easy to understand and are not industry standard. You could have at least added some text next to the icons. There’s nowhere in the app I can figure out how or where to redeem my points anymore. It’s also says I have more points than I should, but I’ll take the free points! Then came the second version no one asked for, published early in 2024. It was a terrible shock - nearly entirely unusable. But they’ve been working on fixes and improvements. This version seems to be fixed and functional now. I’m still not keen on how the data is organized, but that’s a matter of whats intuitive to you personally. Overall, it’s a must-have app if you want to know what’s up in the beer world.
