### 2/5 — booo

*2026-07-01, version 6.0.7*

the font is too big, you can’t move around the app properly at all. you can’t even do some things due to the design. the website is more efficient.

### 1/5 — Zero value

*2026-04-13, version 6.0.4*

This app is terrible. Even if you tap your current page, endless new pages scroll by. Can’t view any itineraries that are shared with you, either. Links to information take you outside of the app anyways.

### 1/5 — Meh

*2026-04-03, version 6.0.4*

About as reliable as BC Ferries themselves.

### 1/5 — Bad update

*2026-03-31, version 6.0.4*

### 1/5 — Didn’t let me login

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.4*

I have a valid busy friend’s account and it’s working on online but this app never let me log into the account. It’s big into this app. Need to be fixed.

### 1/5 — Update app

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.4*

When opening app it states you need to up date app, there is a link to hit for update once you do that it takes you to their BC Ferries App you hit open and it takes you to a link that says you need to update app. Around you go again I guess it is a circle tour

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.2*

Updated the app as required, but still says I cannot use the app until I update. Please fix.

Just updated the app and now it will not work at all.

### 1/5 — Update

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.2*

Only BC Ferries can update an App and crash the entire system.

### 1/5 — Says to update, then won’t go to the app

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.2*

New app update doesn’t work

### 1/5 — Can’t able to install the App

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.2*

It goes into cycle - it says update is required - then it goes to App Store - when tried to install - it says it needs update, even though I deleted the App & tried again.

### 3/5 — App not working

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.2*

It is asking for an update and an update is not available

### 3/5 — App can’t be updated

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.2*

App keeps looking around. Won’t update. Does the same thing after deleting and reinstalling. Please fix bugs.
Otherwise app is ok when working properly.

### 1/5 — Updated but wont let me open the app

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.2*

Why????

### 1/5 — Broken

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.2*

Your latest update is broken. App wants me to update to latest version. Latest version is already installed. You should fix this.

### 1/5 — Can’t open the app

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.2*

### 1/5 — Yeah, you broke it again.

*2026-03-30, version 6.0.2*

Newest version, 6.0.2, refuses to open and gives the message that the app needs to be updated. Small problem, 6.0.2 is the newest version available. Issue has been noted on multiple devices.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-07-12, version 6.0.7*

App doesn’t even load. Blank screen. Useless.

### 1/5 — Cannot Register

*2026-07-07, version 6.0.7*

The app is only useful if you can login. You’re forced to login but if you don’t have an account there’s no where to register. Go to the wretched website and there’s also no place to register. BC Ferries is a sunken business.

### 1/5 — Absolute garbage

*2026-07-03, version 6.0.7*

Clearly designed in house by someone who wasn’t interested. Stay away. Use the website. It isn’t efficient but at least it works

### 1/5 — Who wrote this thing?

*2026-06-26, version 6.0.7*

I could write an app more secure, functionally better and significantly less frustrating in about 2 days with Claude Code. My god this is horrible.

### 1/5 — Lacks Push Notifications.

*2026-06-25*

Have notifications for boarding time would be very helpful.

### 1/5 — POS

*2026-05-26, version 6.0.7*

Just like how the company’s run.

### 1/5 — What’s wrong with app?

*2026-05-25, version 6.0.7*

The app was just fine before. Now, I can’t navigate anywhere because the font is ginormous and links don’t work.

### 1/5 — Yuck

*2026-05-20, version 6.0.5*

Screen formatting is a mess. All buttons or functions are off the bottom of my screen. Text on the first page is garbled.

### 1/5 — Look at the schedule date

*2026-05-19, version 6.0.5*

Current Gulf Islands schedule has the summer schedule posted on the app, not the current schedule

Called customer service and they said the app is pretty glitchy and don’t rely on it - always use the website for accurate information

What is the point of having an app if it’s not accurate. Hard to use the website when you are travelling

Pathetic

### 1/5 — Poor design

*2026-05-10, version 6.0.5*

Switch departures and then pick date and confirm and it reverts back to original sailing direction - causing errors in booking wrong direction

Bc ferries team look at a report of how many customers book wrong way and cancel after or within a day to see how bad your app is

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — App itself is easy to use

*2026-07-05, version 6.0.7*

As a regular commuter in the Sunshine Coast, I have many complaints about BC Ferries. However, the app is not one of them. Nice clear interface and I like how easy it is to access my saved routes.

### 5/5 — Rebuilding ferries

*2025-07-04, version 5.0.0*

24/7ferries

### 5/5 — Must have been improved in 2024

*2024-05-09, version 2.0.1*

Just installed this despite the reviews. Was pleased to discover it's fast, efficient, and extremely easy to navigate. Loaded my tickets in a flash. Really nice app.

### 5/5 — Finally!

*2023-08-11, version 1.1.0*

Streamlined reservations, reservation management, and even saved route presets. It’s actually very good — focused on the essentials.

Congrats to whomever shepherded this project through to launch. No small feat in the complex bureaucratic corporate environment that is BC Ferries. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Looks good

*2023-08-04, version 1.1.0*

The app is much faster than website and has design improvements

### 4/5 — It’s actually good.

*2025-01-12, version 2.2.6*

I was surprised how well it works. They must have made a lot of improvements based on some of the Meg reviews. I would def recommend this for people that use the ferry a lot. You can save details for routes you commonly use, which saves time, and it’s easy to see current conditions etc.

### 4/5 — Good App

*2024-08-12, version 2.1.0*

Everything is functioning quite well.
I have no real problems doing bookings or anything else.
The only thing is that the app is relatively slow, but this could have many different reasons.
Overall I like the App but there is still room for improvements.

### 4/5 — Cannot edit booking

*2024-03-09, version 1.5.0*

Every time I need to edit my booking, it would not accept the changes when I needed to pay the difference. I needed to login on the website to make the change.

### 4/5 — Needs motion alarm disable info

*2024-02-08, version 1.4.0*

Useful addition to app would be info for “how to disable alarm on ferry”.

Many manufacturers have a ferry mode to disable the motion sensor.

### 4/5 — Convenient - I think

*2023-09-03, version 1.1.0*

It allows you to do what you would need to do (check route, cancellations or delays and make bookings). Really, no different than what can be done in their website. But, the app works, so why not use it.
