I submitted a vision claim through the app over 2 weeks ago. It’s still not showing in the app and checking with customer service they say it and any information about the claim can take up to 30 days. In today’s world this is unacceptable.

I have been an FEP Vision member for years and the app rarely works.  I also get an error saying there is a communication error with their server.  I can login on the website though.  Also - when are you going to offer a digital member card?

Seriously. It’s 2026 and any major healthcare provider should be able to outsource a working app. Neither the website nor the app will let me create an account. The app just crashes every time you try to use it. Billion dollar company we’re talking about here.

Other commenters have had several complaints about the use of this app. I am new to this vision plan, and I am unable to create an account using the app or the web. It would be better to make the vision app unavailable for download than to continue letting users go through the similar issues. I do not know if this app is newer than the other BCBS apps for dental or overall healthcare, but this needs some serious work regarding accessibility. This is the app listed in methods of communication for all users, and it has major issues. I would remove this until a better app can be developed or developers can fix it. It is unacceptable for a health insurance company.

This app is constantly crashing, the “find provider” feature never works, and the app doesn’t even provide a full list of benefits. I may swap my vision insurance just to have better online support. I do not recommend this app if you are shopping for vision insurance and would like better online support and resources.

From the website to the app, I can’t update my own address, I can’t add direct deposit for claims, and on the website you can’t even submit a claim. The app will let you but it automatically lists it as out of network. I have a weird situation where what I am submitting a claim for is perfectly in network the issue is the Dr I saw just moved to the state and they only told me that day that he can only accept insurance to buy glasses not for the exams until his paperwork transfers so I’d have to pay out of pocket or reschedule and I didn’t have time to wait any longer. Very poorly designed products. Very surprising from Blue cross and fed employees deserve better.

This app is beyond frustrating. I can’t even get past the login screen—all it does is spin endlessly with the little buffering circle. No error message, no help, just stuck forever. I’ve tried reinstalling, clearing cache, updating my phone—nothing works.

It’s unacceptable that a major insurance company like Blue Cross Blue Shield can’t provide a functioning app for vision insurance. If I can’t access my benefits or claims when I need them, what’s the point? This experience alone is making me consider switching to a different vision insurance provider in the future.

Save yourself the headache and don’t bother downloading until they fix these basic issues.

I had problems signing in.  There is no option to see your password.  After the password is submitted there is an additional step of security which I fine with me - but I would like to see what I am typing.

One of the worst app for a billion dollar company why can’t you all create a app that actually works,every update sucks at this point just delete the app from the App Store and fire all who created this app.

Tried both with the app and website using multiple browsers. Every time I tried to make an account, it came back with “An error has occurred during the processing of your registration.” Someone told me it might be related to password criteria? That’s fine - but why doesn’t it list the criteria if so? Why the generic response if that’s the case? Who’s designing this app / website should be replaced. I can’t imagine anyone being successful. Sometimes, you need to spend a little to save a little.

App doesn’t work at all. Pretty sure they just have it to check a box nothing works can’t even login to the app. What a mess of a system which is strange because the healthcare app works just fine. Don’t even waist your time with this app.

The app is very basic overall, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Provides plan and claim info, provider lookup, limited member info. What it needs is support for Apple Wallet for storing member card, and FaceTime Login integrations.

About the only 5 star item is looking at claims. Finding a doctor is mostly good. You cannot read doctor reviews anymore. 
Sign in offers biometric, but NEVER works.  Even with the 4 month time period, remember this device doesn’t always work.

This is super annoying because the other BCBS Health & Dental have this function. The app is very plain and doesn’t have many functions.
