### 4/5 — Needs a higher character limit!

*2026-08-21, version 2.4*

If I could give this a 4.5 I would because I love this app so much. Being able to connect with moms all over the world has helped me so much from seeing similar situations I am dealing with as well as the private insights from other moms who reply to my posts. My one and only issue I have with this app is that the character count limits just isn’t enough, I have more things to say then just 100 words and I feel as though this app would be so much better if moms didn’t have to water down their words in order to be able to make a post or reply to someone- it’s hard to come up with a short answer for something that may need a longer explanation. It’s not like if I made one post I could just make another post after that because I would have to wait an hour before I could type out another 100 word post and by that time I probably would’ve forgotten what it was I had to say or the first half would be lost in the other posts that moms make. I think this app would benefit from a higher character count and until then it’s great but not perfect.

### 4/5 — Great concept

*2026-07-31, version 2.3*

I believe this app is a great concept. Recently being diagnosed with PPD has been difficult, and I find myself trying to find support or people that are going through the same thing as me, but I am not huge on conversations. So sending a wave or hug to others just as a “hey, I’m here too!” is great for me. I just find it silly that I am limited to 1 wave OR hug per day to share to others that are wanting that sense of comfort/connection also, unless I want to pay… I feel like that feature shouldn’t be limited to 1, I get not having unlimited hugs/waves but lets maybe not make the limit for the free version be so low. That’s not even 1 wave AND hug, you have to choose lol .. silly.

### 5/5 — First child

*2026-07-21, version 2.2*

I just had my first baby and I have felt so alone and overwhelmed during those late nights. To have an app that brings encouragement and community in a time of vulnerability is something I didn’t know I needed.

### 5/5 — Missed opportunity to provide resources to struggling moms and babies!

*2026-07-16, version 2.2*

This app is very comforting postpartum as it helps you to know you’re not alone when you’re up at all hours with baby, and allows you to relate to other moms. HOWEVER, the creators really need to add a feature that allows you to report or flag users who post concerning messages.. With PPA/PPD being so common, it’s really a missed opportunity to get resources to a vulnerable population. I’ve seen some scary posts and been very concerned for the safety of both moms and babies, but am left feeling helpless because there is no way to bring attention to this! The app should readily share options for help for those who need it and posts should be moderated with the option to report.

### 5/5 — Amazing and supportive app

*2026-07-10, version 2.2*

I love this app! Being able to speak directly with moms who may be dealing with the same things as you is so helpful. The beacon light feature is amazing as well, being up late at night with babies can be super lonely and depressing but being able to see other moms up as well and send them hugs and receive them makes it a little better. I have been struggling postpartum, but since downloading this app I have been able to feel a bit better.

### 5/5 — A Godsend

*2026-07-10, version 2.2*

Was up at 2AM the other night sobbing and this app was suggested on TikTok. I downloaded it and I can’t lie it truly helped to know that there were other moms in my same situation up at the same hour. I really appreciate the app developers. Thank you ❤️

### 5/5 — Very helpful for the rough days/nights

*2026-07-08, version 2.2*

I’m a new mom that has been going through a lot since I gave birth and I’ve recently discovered this app and I really wish I found it sooner but over all it still helped greatly

### 5/5 — Most support I’ve ever had 🥹

*2026-07-08, version 2.2*

When I first saw the beacon app I thought it was just another one of those free trial then you have to pay and half the time it’s not worth it, but honestly- it’s the best support I’ve ever had. I struggled through some dark times with my postpartum depression. Being up at 2 in the morning feeding a baby can really drain you sometimes. Being able to see all of the beacons lit on the app gives me strength to keep going. It makes me feel less alone. I can see that other moms are going through the same thing. And the best part is it’s all anonymous. You can vent and ask for advice and anyone can answer. I’ve loved my experience with beacon so far and would HIGHLY recommend you getting it. You’re not alone.

### 5/5 — Beautiful app

*2026-07-08, version 2.2*

This app has made me feel supported by moms I don’t even know. It is so beautiful, you’re up feeding your little one or crib transferring for the 8th time that night and you get a notification “a mom has sent you a wave”. It makes you feel happy and less alone. People in your house may be asleep but hundreds of moms are awake with you and ready to give support and love. It’s amazing

### 5/5 — Best app for moms

*2026-07-08, version 2.2*

I don’t normally leave reviews but this app truly has helped me. Being a new mom, at times I felt very alone and vulnerable. Being up all night I felt like I was the only one. This app has shown me that I was not alone and there are many moms out there that are going through the same and we are together in a way. Reading messages of hope brought me out of a dark place and I am truly grateful I stumbled upon this app. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Best app

*2026-07-03, version 2.2*

This app is an essential for new parents or parents in general I love it 100/100

### 5/5 — Needed This So Much

*2026-06-29, version 2.2*

So happy to have found this app. I wish I knew about it after having my first baby but am so glad I have it now. I tell all my friends who are new moms about it. There is just something so validating about knowing you aren’t alone in your feelings during this season or middle of the night wake ups.

Grateful to feel a sense of connection in a way I haven’t been before.

### 5/5 — I wish I could give this to every mom I know.

*2026-06-29, version 2.2*

Beacon is saving my sanity as a mom already feeling stretched thin. My sundown-scarred are so much less intense knowing I’ll get to send a hug or a wave to another mom who might be rocking her baby to sleep at the same time I am!!

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2026-06-26, version 2.2*

3am. Bawling my eyes out. Babe won’t fall asleep. Random notification that a mom sent me a hug. That feeling meant everything.

### 5/5 — A blessing!

*2026-06-24, version 2.1*

This app is Genius! Wish this app was around 15yrs ago when I had my 1st. I was so alone. I would’ve loved this app so much then. Please download this, it feels nice knowing you’re not alone battling mom life.

### 5/5 — This is a heaven send imo

*2026-06-24, version 2.1*

I’m well past the stage of having littles, sadly. But when I heard about the app, I remembered the loneliness I had even being surrounded by babies and toddlers and I signed up immediately to help other moms. Truly, I’ve never seen anything like this and I believe this app will do wonders and big things

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2026-06-23, version 2.1*

Wish there was more for the free version but nice app for moms who need support

### 5/5 — Perfect for all moms

*2026-06-23, version 2.1*

Most moms know what it’s like to be deep in the newborn trenches—but motherhood doesn’t stop there. It’s the late nights, the endless to-do lists, the moments of feeling completely overwhelmed, and the incredible responsibility of having little humans who depend on you every single day.

That’s why this app is such a gift. It provides a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where moms can openly share their thoughts and emotions, knowing they’ll be met with understanding, encouragement, and validation from other mothers who truly get it. Whether you’re navigating the newborn stage, chasing toddlers, or raising older children, there’s comfort in knowing you’re not alone.

I cannot recommend this app enough. It’s a reminder that motherhood was never meant to be done in isolation. There’s no handbook for being a mom, and sometimes all it takes is hearing “me too” from someone who understands. This app helps create the village every mother deserves, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful.

### 5/5 — Love this community

*2026-06-23, version 2.1*

Need I say more? Love is a strong word for me! Always a mother up doing something for her bb.

### 5/5 — A light in the darkness

*2026-06-23, version 2.1*

I am 5 months PP with my second. I wish I had this with my first 4 years ago, all those night feedings…the lights shining in my area, the messages from across THE WORLD of mamas encouraging mamas…I felt seen. I felt like I was being hugged..and I smiled/giggled instead of cried at those 2am feedings. Thank you for doing an app that is selfless, helpful, and offers hope. Sincerely a mom who has went through PPA/PPD. 🫶🏼

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App/website won’t let you sign up.

*2026-05-30, version 2*

App does not work or let you sign up. Please fix this.

### 1/5 — Was excited but now disappointed

*2026-05-26, version 2*

I was excited to download this. But then it asked to share my location and I hesitated. You can zoom all the way to ppls streets. I just feel like this could lead to predators knowing where little babies with exhausted parents live. I think it should just show a general area of a state and leave town names and street names out of it. I dont need to know a mamas street name in order to sent a hug so she doesn’t feel alone so please disable that part. Deleting the app for the safety of my children.

### 1/5 — India

*2026-04-14, version 1.8.1*

Just not the app for me it’s says completely anonymous and no messages and only thing, but there is clearly chat

### 1/5 — NOT HELPFUL

*2026-03-28, version 1.8.1*

This app claims it’s for support, but if you’re not paying for it it’s useless. Free version only gives you one hi a day, and one 70 character comment an hour!( heads up, we when venting or adding for advice you’re going to need more than that) Paid version fine but if you’re tight on money (which a lot of us new moms are) the free version does nothing. The paid version isn’t really worth it after all when it still only gives you a small part to vent, you can do that for free on FB or Reddit.

### 1/5 — No for me.

*2026-01-23*

Came from tiktok and just doesn’t feel authentic at all. I saw someone else say it’s AI. That’s kinda the vibe I get

### 1/5 — 100% AI generated and FAKE

*2025-12-28*

The app lies to us and says there’s hundreds or even thousands of others online and they’re literally all fake AI. The entire app is fake AI, they’re just monetizing our data and trying to get us to pay subscription features to read AI-generated notes. I could just talk to ChatGPT for free?? This should be removed from the App Store for fraud and consumer protection violations. Developer should be ashamed.

**Developer response:** Hi there. We’re sorry this experience felt frustrating but we need to clarify an important inaccuracy for anyone reading.

Beacon does not generate fake users, fake activity, or AI-written content. I’m not sure what you mean by “AI generated notes” If you’re referring to the community, those are real moms posting.

Beacon also does not sell user data. User privacy and safety are core to how the app is built. I’m a mom too and certainly take this very seriously.

We understand this app won’t be the right fit for everyone, but the claims in this review are not accurate.

We’re committed to transparency and supporting those looking to know they aren’t alone

### 2/5 — So expensive for what it is

*2026-06-20, version 2.1*

Love Beacon as a concept but my gosh its so expensive for what it is. Especially for postpartum new mums with so many expenses! Not sure its worth it.

### 2/5 — Not worth it

*2026-02-06*

The free version of the app offers less than most free apps. You can view the map to see other moms and “support” their 35 character limit message of hope (including spaces), but that’s about it. I did the free trial for the premium version, but it seems pretty overpriced for just the added ability to post and reply in the community section. If the app had a way for moms to privately message each other based on their posts and larger character limits, it might be worth it. It’s also frustrating that you can’t read comments (even with premium) in the messages of hope section as many moms ask questions or share about something other moms may want to view the comments on.

**Developer response:** Hi Catlin! This is Amanda with Beacon. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this detailed feedback, it's incredibly valuable to us as we continue building Beacon. Your suggestions about private messaging and expanded character limits are spot-on, and they're actually features we've been exploring and will be coming to updated versions of Beacon. We're working hard to balance creating meaningful connections while protecting the safe, anonymous space that many moms tell us they need during such a vulnerable time. The comments limitation on Messages of Hope is something we're actively working to improve. You're not the first person to mention wanting more interaction there, and we're figuring out how to make that work without overwhelming what's meant to be a quick moment of connection. We're a small wife/husband team doing our best to create something meaningful for the postpartum community. Your feedback helps us prioritize what matters most to moms like you, and I genuinely appreciate you sharing it, even when it's tough to hear. Would love to have you back as we continue to build more features for free and premium users! Wishing you all the best in your motherhood journey.

### 2/5 — Paywall

*2026-01-10*

Would be good if I could use it without paying. You can barely do anything on it. So I will delete it

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for taking the time to leave feedback. I’m really sorry it felt frustrating or limited for you.

Just to clarify, downloading Beacon is free, and the core feature of the app is completely free to use with no purchase required. You can light your beacon, see other moms on the map, and feel that sense of connection without paying anything at all.

We do offer an optional paid tier that unlocks extra features, but it’s never required to use the heart of the app. I appreciate you sharing how it came across though, because that tells us we need to do a better job making the free experience clearer and easier to find.

Wishing you all the best, and thank you again for the honest feedback.

### 3/5 — Has the potential to be amazing

*2026-05-12, version 2*

Pros: made by a mom. Nice to not feel alone, especially in the newborn trenches. Good idea.

Cons: USA centred, it’s marketed for worldwide but focuses on the states. The email marketing goes worldwide for things that are only for American folks (ie. night before Mother’s Day and the giveaway). Unfortunate when they ask for your thoughts and opinions and then don’t do anything to better the experience. I emailed them to discuss this and got a typical customer service response of “thanks for bringing this to our attention, should’ve made it more obvious when marketing, we should’ve been more clear upfront that’s on us” but I continued getting the same marketing that was not changed to be more transparent. Just a little disappointing.

### 5/5 — Love !!! Must have

*2026-08-25, version 2.4*

Wish I heard of this sooner , I love that it’s the perfect amount of we are here just enough to listen and to speak.

### 5/5 — Beacon is a lifesaver.

*2026-08-25, version 2.4*

I’m a new mom. Freshly PP 4 months. And I cannot tell you how many times it has been 2am up with a crying baby, no sleep and I just felt alone. And then a notification would pop up.. “would you like to light your beacon.” Going onto beacon and seeing the world of moms all awake dealing with the exact same thing as me I know it sounds silly but it calmed my nerves knowing I’m not alone awake in this big old world. There’s thousands of other mother’s awake. Venting, asking questions or giving messages of hope and prayer. Thank you to the creators of beacon from a new mom who desperately needed to be seen and heard by someone other than my baby 😂😭🥹🙏🏻

### 5/5 — Needed this support

*2026-08-21, version 2.4*

I’m a second time mom of two under 2 and postpartum has hit me harder now than it did before. A mom posted this app on a group I’m in and said it helped her feel not so alone. I used the app for the first time yesterday and instantly felt better doing the nighttime feedings and diaper changes by myself. Because I knew I wasn’t actually alone. I’m so grateful to use this app, even if it’s just the free version.💜

### 5/5 — Best App Ever 💕

*2026-08-18, version 2.3*

After I had my baby I felt like I was drowning in loneliness and depression. My sister suggested that I try this app, and it has changed everything. Tracking everything from how long my nurses on each side to how long he sleeps has been so helpful. I’ve made friends with the women in my first circle, we’re in a group text now and we talk every day.

### 5/5 — Exceptional

*2026-08-06, version 2.3*

My baby’s just turned 13 months old and I found out about your app 2 weeks ago and I really suffered with friends dropping off, breastfeeding, sleeping, postnatal depression and anxiety and I would have loved to have had support and to remind myself there’s other mums going through the exact same experience. Your app has saved a part of me that I didn’t know I needed, just have a hug sent to me and seeing all the other warm lights on during the night when I’ve been struggling most is what counts. Thank you for creating this space for all us mums. We are all navigating hard times together 💛

### 5/5 — Every parent needs this app!!

*2026-08-06, version 2.3*

This app is amazing for pregnancy and everything after that. It’s such a nice reminder that we aren’t alone especially during the dark moments. When you literally are in the dark, silence surrounds you… or a constant crying. This app is great for it all! 🙌

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2026-08-03, version 2.3*

I've only recently started using this app and I wish I'd discovered it sooner and it had been around for my first child! It is so comforting to be up at crazy hours and see that other mamas are up to, to know while you feel alone there are others up! I love being able to send anonymous hearts to other users and let them know I see them and what they do! Definitely recommend this app!

### 5/5 — Would recommend to any moms

*2026-08-03, version 2.3*

Whether you are a soon to be mom, a new mom, or have been dealing with the ups and downs of motherhood for years, this app is truly such a beautiful concept and community!

### 5/5 — Amazing community

*2026-08-03, version 2.3*

This app has seriously helped me postpartum with keeping my sanity intact! There’s something so comforting about knowing there are other mums going through the exact same thing at the same time - it’s really helped with the feeling of loneliness after having a baby!

### 5/5 — So encouraging

*2026-07-28, version 2.3*

This app has been so encouraging and helpful! I used to feel so alone during the night with my newborn but seeing moms all around awake at the same time and helping with questions or concerns has been so comforting! I recommend this app to every mom!
