## What is Beam by atman?

Beam is the simplest way to send files, photos, and videos between devices — no accounts, no cloud, no waiting for uploads.

Pick what you want to share. Beam shows a QR code. Your friend opens Beam, scans, and the transfer starts. That's the whole flow.

WHY BEAM

- Originals preserved — HEIC stays HEIC, no transcoding to JPEG
- Encrypted in transit — TLS 1.3 over QUIC, peer-to-peer

PRIVACY
Beam doesn't collect, store, or transmit personal data. There are no Beam accounts. There is no Beam server that handles your files — transfers happen directly between devices over encrypted connections. The atman project that powers Beam is open source.
