I have a very specific requirement, but you can’t even preview the output or see the settings before installing the desktop app. I’m not going to install the desktop app for something I don’t even know will work.

Using an iPhone 13 mini with my gaming pc I couldn’t get the eye tracking very smooth at all. I’ll be looking at other solutions. Cool idea hopefully the issues are fixed in the futurw

This issue seems to be related to device placement. Please ensure that you have followed the instructions at beam.eyeware.tech/ios-setup and positioned the phone correctly under the right monitor and your eyes are visible. So far the biggest drawback is that I cannot tell it to use the rear camera. The rear camera is higher fidelity and higher resolution. Since it's connected via WiFi 6E, I should have more than enough intranet bandwidth to handle nearly instantaneous 4K/60 or 1080p/120(240) tracking. I subscribed for a year, but will most likely not renew my subscription if this isn't something that can be available to us in coming updates. Seems like an oversight.

Please visit our website to check out the latest release of the Beam Eye Tracker, which allows the use of the rear camera when paired with a webcam app. However, please note that the capability to offload to a high-resolution, high-frame-rate camera is not yet activated. So when I downloaded it on my phone and pc, I cannot connect it because the phone connection won’t show up. I have the 1.4.3 and I don’t have a webcam but it is telling me to use a webcam as tho there is no option for phone

For the iOS Edition (which is currently a separate product) there is a different iWindows installer that you will receive the link to, once you've downloaded and entered your email in the Beam iOS app. Thanks for reconsidering your review score. I paid for the lifetime option, and the app still prompts me to “Get full access”. Premium features not working at all.

I bought a full access for this application for research purpose… The application works on my Iphone, but the third part application on windows is not really tested and does not work on my windows 10. The only answer of the support is : your system seams to be not compatible, update your system, disable windows defender, look a the log (with a path that does not exist)… 
So run away for the moment and wait macos third-party application as it’s in python…

This app is great and works well. Or at least used to. I now how to pay a monthly or yearly fee to use it despite not having to previously. This is ridiculous. If i didnt have to pay it would be 5 stars.

We completed beta testing and released a paid version of the app with the most recent stable release. While we understand your frustration in not being able to use head tracking for free, we have continued to provide free access to the eye tracker with a transparent watermark.

I’d be glad to pay for this app as long as it’s a one time purchase, I’m definitely not a fan of subscriptions. Works well on iPad pro and pc, no other issues

I have had the issue of not having a good way to look around my cockpit properly in DCS for a long time. I then discovered this. A brilliant alternative to spending hundreds of pounds for track ir setups. And made it great is that the head tracking WAS free. One main reason that I used this over other alternatives is that the head tracking was free. It seems now that you have to put for the head tracking feature, which highly disappoints me. I understand they have to make revenue somehow but they could find other ways to entice people to buy their premium. So if you are willing to pay for a monthly subscription, by all means get it. But if you wanted the free head tracking like they used to promise, then start looking elsewhere.

Doesn’t work all that well with glasses and adds a system wide watermark when in use. I honestly don’t think it’s worth it, especially with the subscription requirement of $5.49 a month to remove the watermark. I would be willing to pay for a perpetual license instead tho.

However, these factors are only relevant to eye tracking and do not impact head tracking with the Eyeware Beam app. We are taking your feedback into account and will revisit out pricing model. I started to use this app and then I finished setting it up the eye tracking was good but then I plugged in my headphones and I heard someone say “I can see you” you do not know how fast I threw my headset off. If people are hacking into your app and spying on people you need to do something about that because I am really scared and I do not even want to use my laptop anymore 💀

**Developer response:** This complaint does not appear genuine. We collect head and eye tracking data in real-time, without storing any video recordings, and without collecting any other personal information during this process.

When you use the Beam Solution, using the camera feed on your device, the Beam Solution automatically computes your head and face pose, as well as gaze coordinates (Tracking Data). The computation occurs in real time and is done directly on your device. The videos recorded with your camera are not transferred to our services and we neither record nor store them.

We only collect the output of this computation (the Tracking Data), which is necessary to provide our technology (and the services of our Partners). We do not store Tracking Data in a manner which permits us to identify you, and do not link it to other information about you.

We do not collect your content, such as video streams.

You can integrate our eye tracking technology with your own content, such as video streams.

Hello, I tried to get it to load in my pc and it wouldn’t open. I definitely won’t be using it again

Downloaded app to pc. Couldn't get it to open. Tried connecting to iPhone app......nothing. Tried for 30 minutes. Uninstalled everything.

Installed the PC Software. Allowed it through the firewall, installed this iOS app, and tried to connect over ip and USB. the PC app only ever said “Device is currently Unavailable.  I only paid for a month of this app thank god. I’ll be refunding the steam app of the PC software too. Back to Trackir.

Having downloaded this app, and purchased the full priced program on steam to complement it, its performance just isn’t acceptable. 

Once in game, I’m either facing the wrong direction or upside down. The eye tracking movements are all over the place, and don’t appear to be tracking properly. No mention on the recommended distance the user should be from the monitor, or from the iPhone. Or what orientation the iPhone should be in (landscape or portrait)? With iOS, we expect things to ‘just work’, this has been nothing but a major headache.

I’ll be happy to update this review if the developers are willing to reach out, and advise on how to get it working as advertised.

If Apple reviews allow links, you can find them here: beam.eyeware.tech/ios-setup. The only supported orientation is landscape with the camera on the right, as indicated in the instructions. That may have been the cause of the erratic behavior you experienced. Also, we and the community are highly responsive on our Discord server, so feel free to reach out there for swift support.

This app seems like it could be amazing, but the eye tracking is terrible, the calibration seems like it’s too short and doesn’t do anything, use it for more than 2 minutes and it becomes completely off calibrated. I think it’s possible for it to be better than it is

As for your case right now: Please make sure to have a good and stable illumination in your room when using the app, place the phone centered under the monitor and make sure you do not move your head out of the calibration position too much. So I’m currently waiting to get a track IR and use the EB head tracker on my iPhone for DCS. If you get in and adjust the input and output curves it is actually pretty amazing. I’ve been using it since January 2023 and I will say it is a great product and alternative option for those getting into head tracking games. Good job devs!!

This app has changed my view of how I am immersed in games. I personally use the head tracking in American Truck Simulator but so much more is available for this app! The eye tracking is perfect for streamers (like myself) or other content creators. On top of this, the support team is one of the best, helping with even the setup of the product. This is truly my favorite app on my phone now and it continues to impress me with updates enhancing the experience even more!

This has to be the best eye tracker app ever the other once are not as I expected them to be I don’t exactly have my own computer yet   It would be cool if you could connect the eye tracker to Moblie to moblie that would be A awesome setting but overall really cool app

This software works great, the ui is very simple yet professional. Few things that bother me though, USB connection hasn’t yet worked for me, and it would also be great if you could use your own webcam but with the same software on PC.

The most likely reason you are unable to get the USB connection to work is because you may not have downloaded the iTunes for Windows on your computer.

I downloaded it to see if it would work with my PC and it worked wonderfully! its incredibly accurate and really easy to use.

My favorites to use with our app are Star Citizen and EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone with head tracking.
