## What is Bean Snake?

Two walkers. One cave. Every bean you find falls in line behind you.

Choose the Queen or the King, and the one you did not choose wanders the dark on their own. Walk the cave, gather what grows there, and mind the rocks — and your own parade.

WALK IT YOUR WAY
Tap where you want to go, or hold a finger down and steer. The whole floor becomes the stick. Switch between the two whenever you like.

WHAT THE DARK HAS
Beans in five varieties, each worth ten. Every fourth find comes up gold with a key — worth five ordinary ones, and gone in about six seconds. Stalagmites push up out of the floor as your parade grows.

THE TWO GLOWING ONES
Viper surfaces in violet, Astra in indigo, and neither waits long. Take Viper first and Astra gives herself up. Take Astra first and Viper comes hunting her — and everything behind her leaves your line and stays on the stone where it fell, until you walk back over it.

THE ONE YOU ARE NOT
Nine gold keys, counted across every run you have ever walked, and your consort starts appearing. Faster than you, so they cannot be chased, only folded into the parade. They do not leave.

THE CHRONICLE
The Legend of the First Bean King, read aloud. Nineteen lines, once, whenever you want it.

A CAVE THAT IS EVERYONE'S
A new one every day, the same for every player, drawn from the date itself. Climb the daily and weekly boards with a name you pick — no account, no email.

Plays offline. No timers, no lives to wait for, no interruptions while you walk.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-17

A new face has wandered into the cave, over from Bean Crush. He keeps his own hours, and what he is worth is up to him. Find out the hard way.

Also in this update:

• The SoulEater now catches anyone who walks through him, every time.
• Scores reach the board more reliably. A run that cannot be sent straight away is kept and sent later, and your best is checked against the board when the game opens.
• Small fixes to the cave log.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-10

Four new things are down there now. Karmakaze is a diamond that does not run but is never where you left her: come within three squares and she is across the cave, dim and stuck for seven seconds, which is the only window to take her. DuskX appears in a week you have scored seven hundred in; catching him pays nothing, and the three hundred is for carrying him into the prison. Favourite is worth six hundred, the most of anything, and is the only bean that can take points away. And the SoulEater falls down one lane a minute, cannot be caught, and takes a fifth of your speed if you walk into him.

The cave log now keeps half of itself back. Every character has hidden sections that open only once the cave has actually done the thing they describe.

The board has an all-time column beside today and this week.

Your name can move to a second device. In Settings, a device that holds a name shows a short code; type it into another phone or the web version and both answer to the same name.

DuskX rides on your shoulder while you carry him, and every time Viper lets him out the prison pays a hundred more to shut the door again.

The chronicle carries on where it left off if you open Settings or switch apps mid-tale.

Declining tracking no longer removes the board or the respawn ads; the ads are simply less targeted.

Fixes: DuskX unlocked only in weeks you beat your all-time best, the walker could be swapped mid-run, choosing a walker after a run ended did not start one, and the name field now tells you as you type whether a name is free.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-05

WHAT CHANGED IN 1.0.1

No new permissions, no new data collection, no new third-party SDKs. The
privacy manifest is unchanged from 1.0.

CONTENT
Four new characters in the game: Karmakaze, DuskX, Favourite and the
SoulEater. All are ordinary gameplay objects — no purchases, no unlocks
that cost money.

REACHING ALL OF IT DURING REVIEW
Most content appears within a minute of play. One thing does not:

DuskX and the prison only appear once the player has scored 600 in the
current week. A short review session will not reach that, so DuskX,
the prison, and Favourite's interaction with him will not be visible.
Everything else — Karmakaze, the SoulEater, Viper, Astra, the King and
Queen, the cave log and the board — appears in normal play.

The Cave Log (button on the screen shown when a run ends) lists every
character, including ones not yet encountered, if you would like to see
the full contents without playing to them.

INTERFACE CHANGES
- The screen shown when a run ends now carries four buttons: Head back
in, The chronicle, The cave log, The board.
- Those links were previously in a footer under the game; that footer
  no longer has them.
- The Cave Log now shows two lines per entry and opens a detail card
  when an entry is tapped.
- The walker (Queen or King) is chosen before a run and cannot be
changed during one. The control is disabled and dimmed while a run is
  in progress.
- The "Today's cave" mode has been removed.

ADVERTISING
The app contains a single optional rewarded ad, offered only after a
run ends, which grants a continue. Our AdMob account is currently under
review by Google, so no ads will be served during your review. The
offer is hidden when no ad is available, so nothing broken will be
shown. Ads are never forced and never interrupt play.

LEADERBOARD
Optional. The player may claim a nickname; nothing is sent unless they
do. We store the nickname, the scores posted under it, and a random
token proving the name is theirs. No email, no account, no advertising
identifier is involved in this. It is described in the privacy policy
at https://beansnake.app/privacy
