Just one major feature missing! *2025-08-14, version 8.3.2* Love this app. It seems to have every single feature I want without seeming cluttered or confusing. The one major missing feature is cloud sync. Would love AI assistance and analysis too. But really need to be able to sync data between my iPhone and iPad without having to manually export and import every time. Update: I appreciate the response from the developer and as a developer myself completely understand the challenge. I was not aware the app was open source and would like to support the development of the app to potentially add the functionality I feel it needs. War ja nicht so schwer. Die Fotos liegen ja im Beanconqeror Verzeichnis :-) VORHER: Bohnen, Mühlen, Methoden lassen sich umfangreich anlegen, konfigurieren und sortieren. Bezüge können dadurch schnell erstellt werden. In den Einstellungen können Ansichtswerte dazu, oder weggenommen werden. Über Ex- und Import kann man schnell die Datenbank auf andere Geräte abgleichen, wenn man zum Beispiel Nextcloud, Netzwerkfreigaben oder AirDrop nutzt. Tolles Update. Für mich wäre ja ein Traum, wenn es ein Rezepte Modus gäbe, wo es einen Fokus/Rubrik auf Rezepte gibt. Vielleicht würde das aber auch nicht in Konzept passen. Dazu noch, wenn Fotos mit ins Backup kommen würden. There are no features hidden behind a paywall and there are zero ads in the app! Amazing support and care by the developer. There are tons of features in this app and almost all of them are customizable. You will never have to guess how to make that perfect cup/shot again when using this app. It’s super easy to use and navigate around, the sharing feature is fantastic. It simply shares an image of your brew with all the stats and doesn’t send a link to download the app, a small feature I love! I enjoy the ability to add pictures of what I’m using. No Fluff *2024-09-12* I have tried a few apps and while many of them have some cute features, nothing comes close to the breadth of customization and integration that this app offers. I primarily use it for espresso and I’m on a simple setup with a GCP but this app grows with me after time I add a price of equipment for tweak a variable. The developer seems super knowledgeable and in touch with the coffee geeks. They’re constantly making USEFUL updates and offering more customizable parameters for us to tweak. Zudem habe Ich das Gefühl, dass die App sich wirklich weiter entwickelt. Etwas umständlich ist, dass bei einem Bezug jedes Mal alle Einstellung gesetzt werden müssen, da Bohnen, Mühlen und Maschinen alphabetisch sortiert werden und nur der jeweilig oberste Treffer selektiert wird. Andere Einstellungen wie Mahlgrad und Brühtemperatur müssen jedes Mal neu eingegeben werden. Da ich häufig nur einen Parameter ändere, würde ich mir wünschen, wenn die Parameter der vorherigen Brühung für die neue Brühung voreingestellt wären. Ansonsten weiter so; Super! Happy to hear from you & have a great cup of coffee Lars ### 2/5 — Zusammenspiel mit Waage klappt rudimentär *2022-06-22* Auf YouTube wurde die App empfohlen und sofort geladen und täglich genutzt. Mit der Waage lunar sollte angeblich die Anwendung komfortabler laufen, bei jedem fünften Bezug klappt es dann auch mal, obwohl immer eine Verbindung zum Smartphone besteht. Zudem weicht das endgültige Gewicht vom Getränk immer von dem auf der Anzeige der Waage ab und muss durch einen weiteren Klick übernommen werden - warum? Ich weiß nicht, ob ich die App noch lange nutzen werde, wenn sich das Zusammenspiel mit der Waage nicht bessert. **Developer response:** Update 24.01.25: Hallo tchh, die Verbindung mit insb. den Acaia Waagen wurde überarbeitet und funktioniert nun (so gut wie) Reibungslos. I have read the developer’s explanation as to why it is difficult to implement. I think despite the difficulty, the apple platform will make it possible (i.e. with things like CloudKit), or even just a more automatic import export to iCloud Drive that you can do manually now. Have a great cup of coffee Lars ### 3/5 — App works well as a journal, too buggy with scale *2024-02-17* I have an Acaia Pearl S, and have used other apps that can use this scale with BT paring for flow rate and just help me keep consistent brews. I found this app through Reddit and thought I’d give it a try, I like it better for keeping track of my brews because it keeps grinders, grind size and other things in memory for past brews. The issue I have is with scale paring. It’s a nightmare. The scale will disconnect and connect automatically, a pop up will appear stating that this is common with iOS devices and to just reconnect it, the issue still persists. If you don’t clear the pop-up message immediately, it will stack on top of one another and the screen will eventually go black, and you need to clear every notification to use the app again. So I just don’t use my scale, which is the main reason for the app for me. Other apps don’t have connectivity issues for me like this one does. It would be nice for the current brew you are working on, you could save the weight of the vessel, so once you finish, just add the total weight and I’ll find the difference, but you can only do that all at once, would be a nice addition imo. The app as a journal is pretty good though, some minor tweaks to the ui would be nice and the scale connectivity issues resolved, and it would be fantastic. **Developer response:** Hello Dsvist12, thank you for your rezession and feedback. Maybe it helps to change the heartbeat in the settings. 2. Acaia is not giving any help to an Open Source Application. Other apps don't have the connectivity issue, because Acaia provides an SDK which Beanconqueror can use cause of the software stack. Acaia is not willing to support like written above. A vessle (name + weight) can already be added and be preset. Have a look at Brewing Parameters -> Manage Parameters -> Activate "Vessle". My wife has a cooking app and the data between phone and iPad automatically sync. ### 4/5 — Geniale und übersichtliche App *2024-12-17* Ich habe 4 Sterne vergeben da mir noch eine Funktion fehlt, bzw. ich die Funktion nicht gefunden habe. Ich trinke zur Zeit sehr gerne Cold Brew, nutze dafür die App Brewli als Timer und Dokumentation. Wenn Beanconqueror noch dein Timer für den Cold Brew mit Erinnerung via Push-Benachrichtigung hätte, wäre die App perfekt für mich. Dann könnte ich 5 Sterne vergeben und die App Brewli deinstallieren. Ich gebe die Zeit in der App ein die der Cold Brew im Kühlschrank ziehen soll und wenn die Zeit abgelaufen ist, erinnert mich die App dran. Mir ist noch folgendes aufgefallen: - Im Bereich „Bohnen“ kann man die Kosten der Bohnen eintragen. Bei mir beispielsweise 6,90 € für 250g. Somit sollten da 27,60 € stehen. Es stehen jedoch „(30 €/kg)“. - Außerdem steht im selben Bereich „Bohnen“ der „Rösttyp“. Den kann ich jedoch nirgends eintragen. Edit - Antwort auf das Feedback vom Lars: Danke für die superschnelle Rückmeldung, das schätze ich sehr! - Bzgl. Cold Brew verstehe ich die Antwort nicht. Du meinst sicherlich: „Da mein Feedback ein sehr seltenes Feedback ist und sozusagen nicht von vielen bzw. niemanden außer mir angefragt wurde, wird so eine Funktion in naher Zukunft nicht kommen. Korrekt? :-)“ Sehr schade, aber das kann ich natürlich nachvollziehen, nur für einen User wird keine neue Funktion eingeführt. - Wenn man im Burger-Menü bei Bohnenparameter den Rösttyp hinzufügt, kann man diesen entsprechend hinterlegen, das klappt jetzt, danke. **Developer response:** Edit 19.12.2024: Hallo Stenic70, danke für deine Rückmeldung hier und aktualisierung. Bzgl Cold Brew: Es gibt bislang keine Rückmeldung zu diesem Themengebiet bis auf diese hier, d.h. wie du bereits sagst, dass ist ein Feature was keinen Return on Invest bringen wird. Ich sehe aber auch den Mehrwert nur sehr gering, denn was du tun könntest: Du legst deine Cold-Brew-Brühung an, und setzt die Zeit auf z.B. 16 Stunden 30 Minuten und speicherst den Eintrag. Danach gehst du einfach in deine Uhren-App auf iOS, Legst einen Timer an mit 16 Stunden 30 Minuten, vergibst noch die Beschreibung "Cold-Brew" und startest den Timer. Danach gibt es dann Nativ direkt von iOS die Benachrichtigung und du kannst den Kaffee rausholen, d.h. gleiche Lösung, nur eventuell mit einem extra Schritt. Zwecks Cold Brew: Ich glaube so eine Funktionalität wird es nicht in naher Zukunft geben, da diese Art der Rückmeldung auch die aller erste ist die mich hierzu erreicht bei der großen Benutzer Basis. Ich glaube die einfachste Lösung wäre: In Beanconqueror die Brühung eintragen mit der totalen Ziehzeit, und sich auf dem Handy einfach einen Timer Stellen mit benamung / oder via Voice-Assistent (faktisch ähnlich, und die Eintragung in Beanconqueror wäre ja dann bereits schon fertig). Zwecks der Kosten der Bohnen: Danke für die Rückmeldung hier, dies sollte im nächsten Update gelöst sein. Zusätzlich kommt das Thema Datenschutz, und auch die Kosten der Infrastruktur. Dadurch, dass ich das alles alleine Entwickle, sowie die App nicht die Kosten zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt für Infrastruktur deckt, wird dieses Thema noch etwas dauern. Unabhängig dazu, ist dies aber eine Thematik die ich sehr gerne Umsetzten würde und ich auch einen großen Mehrwert drinnen sehe. Easy to personalise to the variables you want to track with a nice summary list of all your brews to easily see the effect of your adjustments to help dialling in. Recommended ### 5/5 — Revolutionary *2025-12-06* I am beyond impressed with this app. It’s like somebody went into my brain and built the exact coffee journal I want but don’t have the ability to articulate. I have been literally telling everybody I know about this. The layout makes complete sense. I love the color palate and cute designs. It comes preloaded with all of the popular brewers. The features include everything I need to fully define every variable and input. It’s not bloated. It’s FREE?? This is an app I would pay money for but I hugely appreciate how accessible it is. I would much rather donate and have it remain free to people who just want to give it a try, because this really sells itself if you know literally anything about the infinite variables with coffee brewing. I have already found myself going back to my notes for numerous tweaks in my next brews. I could go back in time to every brew with any coffee and see exactly what I’ve done so I could get that same cup again, or so I knew what I did and could try another brewer to see how they compare. This app is of course only as good as you are at recording your info, but it has absolutely everything I need. My only suggestion for inputs might be to add a field for specifying what recipe I’m using, e.g. Hoffman V60, Tetsuo 4:6, or whatever custom pour structure I want so I can experiment. I can always put that into the notes but I would enjoy being able to go back in the future and compare what recipes I’ve given the highest ratings to, for example. A couple other things I’d love: -The front page is lovely, especially the “time since last cup” which is such a thoughtful touch. I would enjoy a few more options for a graphical/pictorial summary of stats. It would be cool to have a graph or table or even just a list where I could see what grinders I’ve used with what coffee, what grind setting for a specific grinder have the highest brew rating, etc. Really just a basic comparison of whatever variables I’m interested in. -The ability to create tags to improve filtering when I’m reviewing past brews based on what I’m looking for in the notes field. I would enjoy being able to search for specific conclusions like heavy/med/light body, high/med/low sweetness, etc. Any shot this will eventually include a roast log version? I would spend much more time trying to roast the right coffee if it was as easy to record as this is for pour overs. **Developer response:** Hello Yabitu Koba, big thank you for the lovely review and the time taken to write this! Happy you notice and see all the investment that has went into this app. Regarding your question of the recipe: You can go to Menu -> Brewing parameters -> Manage parameters -> Enable "Profile". There you have a new parameter which you can fill out like "Tetuso 4:6". Regarding the statistics: Its hard to match the needs/wants and have it still possible for all users to use it. Beanconqueror is the most intuitive and the best. Best of all, it allows you to use a Bluetooth pressure sensor and a scale made by a combination of different manufacturers. 2 requests: iCloud sync of data and maybe customization of parameter colors on the brew graph.
