WHY I BUILT BEANLY

I liked good coffee, but I didn’t really understand coffee.

I knew light roast from dark roast, but when I finished a bag I loved, I rarely knew how to find another one like it. I took pictures of bags and kept notes on my phone. Coffee subscriptions would ask whether I wanted light, medium, or dark roast, but they never really learned why I liked one coffee and not another.

So I built the coffee guide I wanted.

A place to remember every bag I’ve tried, understand my own taste, discover what to drink next, and scan a coffee in the store to see whether I might actually like it.
