## What is Bearhugme?

Tap the bear once a day. That's it.

Bearhugme is your daily tap for the people who care about you. A small sign each day, so they know you're okay without another call, text or "just checking" message.

If you miss your tap, Bearhugme notifies your Lieblingsmensch. Your Lieblingsmensch is the person you choose to notify if you miss your daily tap.

No drama. No tracking. Just a quiet way to stay connected.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Tap the bear once a day when you're okay.
2. Invite your Lieblingsmensch by email.
3. They can see your status in the app.
4. If your tap is missing, we send them a message so they know to check in.

WHO IT IS FOR
- For people living alone who want to stay independent, but not disappear without a trace.
- For family, parents, siblings or close friends who live far away and want to know things are okay.
- For long-distance relationships, travel or living abroad, when one small daily sign helps a lot.
- For anyone who wants a simple daily routine that gives everyone a bit more peace of mind.

CALM SAFETY
Bearhugme helps you and your Lieblingsmensch feel safer without turning care into monitoring. There is no location tracking, no ads and no noisy dashboard. Just your daily tap and the people you choose.

PRIVACY
Bearhugme stores only what it needs: your name, email address and the time of your last tap. No ads. No selling your data. No surprises.

WHAT BEARHUGME IS NOT
Bearhugme is not an emergency service or a medical product. It does not replace local emergency numbers or professional medical help. In an emergency, always contact emergency services directly.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7.0 — 2026-08-20

New: Pause.
Off on holiday or just need a break? You can now pause Drück mich. Your Lieblingsmenschen are notified while you’re away, so no one gets a false alarm, and you pick things back up whenever you’re ready.

More reliable taps.
We fixed a case where a daily tap might not reach us and could trigger a wrong “missed” alert. And if you tap while you’re offline, it’s now saved and sent automatically once you’re back online, with a clear note when something hasn’t gone through yet.

### 1.6.1 — 2026-08-18

Small maintenance update.
We cleaned up the build setup, aligned Expo and React Native patch versions, and reduced the build upload size. No big feature changes in this one.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-08-04

A fresh start.
We rebuilt onboarding from the ground up. You sign in with your email and a 6-digit code now, so no more waiting on confirmation links. The new welcome screen lets you try it right away: tap the bear once and see how it works.

Your account stays yours.
Reinstall and recover, and you keep the same account, with your history, photo and join date intact.

Safer with your email.
If you add an email that already belongs to another account, we warn you clearly before anything is merged, and confirm it with a code.

Small things.
You now get a heads-up when someone ends your connection. And the bear got a little more playful.

### 1.5.1 — 2026-07-31

Small fixes.
Confirming an invite from your email now takes you straight into the app instead of an error page.
Contacts and settings hold up without a connection, and your Lieblingsmenschen's photos are cached for offline.
Recovering your device keeps even your profile picture.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-07-22

Put a face to it.
You can now add a profile photo. It shows up for your Lieblingsmenschen and in the invite emails you send.

Notifications that feel personal.
Push notifications now show the person's photo, styled like a real message. So when someone accepts your invite, you see who it is right away.

Small fixes.
Fixed the bear sometimes being invisible when you opened the app on iPhone. Tidied up the updates section on the settings screen.
