## What is Beat the House?

MASTER BLACKJACK WITH CONFIDENCE

Winning takes luck. The right move doesn't.

Beat the House is a blackjack strategy trainer built to help you learn the mathematically correct play, understand why it's right, and practice until the correct decision becomes automatic.

Whether you're learning blackjack for the first time, preparing for Las Vegas, or sharpening your skills before your next casino trip, Beat the House helps you practice, test yourself, and measure how well you really know basic strategy.

STOP GUESSING. KNOW THE RIGHT MOVE.

Practice the same decisions you'll face at a blackjack table: Hit, Stand, Double Down, and Split.

Learning Mode gives you immediate feedback when you make a mistake, including the correct action and an explanation of why basic strategy recommends it.

WHAT'S YOUR STRATEGY RATING?

Beat the House measures your demonstrated blackjack strategy skill with a unique Strategy Rating.

Your rating focuses on the quality and consistency of your decisions, not whether a lucky card happened to win the hand.

Track your accuracy, identify the situations you miss most often, and see where your strategy still needs work.

You can't control the next card. You can control the decision you make.

ANALYZE ANY HAND

Not sure whether to Hit, Stand, Double, or Split?

Analyze Hand lets you build virtually any blackjack situation and see the recommended basic strategy play along with the reasoning behind it.

Use it to study difficult hands, check situations you're unsure about, or understand why a play that feels wrong is mathematically correct.

TRAIN FOR REAL PLAY

Game Mode removes the coaching and lets you put your strategy to the test under normal blackjack conditions.

Configure bankroll, minimum bet, shoe size, blackjack payout, dealer rules, doubling rules, surrender, insurance, and more.

Your decisions are evaluated while you play so you can review your performance afterward without having the answer handed to you during the hand.

FIND THE MISTAKES YOU'RE MAKING

After a session, review more than a win-loss record.

See your Strategy Rating, accuracy, individual mistakes, correct actions, explanations, bankroll results, win rate, and session history.

Beat the House helps you find exactly where your strategy breaks down and what to practice next.

YOUR STRATEGY CARD, BUILT IN

Reference blackjack basic strategy anytime with charts for hard hands, soft hands, and pairs.

Missed situations can be highlighted to help turn a traditional strategy card into a more useful learning tool.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.6.3 — 2026-09-26

- Created a few ways to get back to the Home Screen on the Apple Watch version.

### 1.6.2 — 2026-09-10

Beat the House is on Apple Watch.

A fast practice companion rather than the app made small: your current rating, and one button. A drill asks one decision per screen. Ten, twenty or fifty at a time, and those decisions count toward exactly the same Learning rating a phone session does. Drills work with your phone in another room and sync themselves when it is next in range. A complication puts your rating on the watch face and opens straight onto the first decision, never a menu.

Also fixed:

• Re-splitting is graded correctly now. A hand created by a split was not read as a pair, so the chart answered it off the hard-total row. Splitting eights again against a nine was offered at the table, then marked wrong. Six chart cells were affected.
• The pay line no longer prints across your own hand.
• The Strategy Rating figure is no longer clipped at the top of the front page on a 6.3" display.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-09-06

No release notes.
