## What is Beatcast?

Beatcast shows your heart rate in a huge, zone-colored number, and while a session runs it also appears in the Dynamic Island, on the Lock Screen and on your Apple Watch. Connect a Bluetooth heart rate sensor, or use the camera in your iPhone when you do not have one with you.

Beatcast now speaks German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese as well as English, down to the Lock Screen, the Dynamic Island, the widgets and the permission prompts. The app also tells you where your heart rate turns up: the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen while a session runs, the home screen widget for the last reading with the time it was taken. Start with no sensor paired and you get a screen explaining what counts as one and how to connect it. Fixed a sensor that stayed connected in the background and showed a live reading while the status still read Connecting. Nothing clips at large text sizes now, the trial notice keeps its buy button in reach, and the Bluetooth permission notice has a way into Settings.

Beatcast now runs on iPad, as a stationary display for a propped-up tablet you read from across the room. TCX export, so a session opens in Strava or Garmin Connect. Edit or delete a saved session. A redesigned three-minute chart that zooms in on where your heart rate actually is. Test an alert from the background, to check you can hear it with the phone in your pocket. Sessions now reach Apple Health with an honest workout type instead of always saying strength training.
