Good to see AudioBus and Ableton Link support, which makes it much more user friendly when part of an AUM session. Ableton Link support together with Audiobus has just been added to version 1.9! ### 5/5 — Neutral1 *2021-07-03* I have used Beatly Pro a few times since getting the app and every time I use it I am impressed. A lot of the beats it produces sound really good. The app can make beats quickly and as a request in my last review, I asked if the beat name creation could be automated to speed up the saving process but still allowing you to rename them if you wanted to. The developer kindly implemented this in an update and it works really well. What would also be useful, if you load a saved beat to listen to, is to have the ability to select the previous and next saved beats maybe by using arrows for backward and forward selection. It would be quicker than going to the menu and having to load each beat separately. That way you could step backwards and forwards through your saved beats and be able to listen to them much easier. I would like to ask for another request. When Beatly Pro creates a beat would it be possible to create a few variations of that beat using the same sounds? The variations could even be intro, verse, chorus, end with an optional fade out, etc. It might be possible to build a song from the different parts in another app. Maybe a song mode could be incorporated into Beatly Pro, so a song could be created within the app. The app is great as it it is but I would like the option to be able to join beats together to make a song. At the moment every beat is different and the sounds are also different, that’s what it was designed to do. One more question, does Beatly Pro have any FM sounds. Keep up the good work and thank you for a great app. **Developer response:** Thank you for your updated review! Combining various parts of the beat is possible now. There is up to 8 bars to work with which you can combine infinitely :) Maybe it will be extended even more in the future so the entire song can be built. Currently there are no FM sounds but I have this option in my TODO list, however that will a be a tough task! :) Btw the beat browser will be definitely implemented, great tip! Thanks again and enjoy! ### 5/5 — Genius *2021-04-25* Love the idea and concept. Fact there’s not an over abundant of these generators on the App Store blow my mind. I currently use Beatly for a jump of inspiration.. It’s very much possible to create a song from start to finish, even capturing the midi files and sending them to yourself for more of a treat in your DAW. Although, there’s many more features that could come later on. I support the developer and his work and dedication to make this app even better than what it is. I’ve been back and forth over Instagram, talking about bugs, upcoming features, etc. he’s really dedicated to implementing more, and listening to suggestions. Of course could use the help of others for ideas! I’m thankful for this app because it gave me the little bump I needed to finish a track. Even if it’s just from capturing one sample and using that other than the whole track. I believe this app holds potential. **Developer response:** Thank you! I really value your support! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — No no no *2023-01-16* It’s says rap and Lofi beat generator but no settings for rap it’s only cinematic Lofi default and chiptune and dance the app works fine and all but what’s being generated isn’t musical at all very Wack very very wack. If you are looking for a generator that’s musical and usable beats try Songen 5star and Piano Motifs hot extremely hot.. This app is okay with all the functions but just not musical enough ### 1/5 — Crap *2022-12-15, version 1.33* Unless crap lack of control. Only 2 bars 😡chords are trash Melodies are stupid🤬drums are weak and not needed the styles are not on point. Doesn't matter which settings I play with, I can't get music out of it that I like 🤷‍♂️ ### 3/5 — How do you saved a track you made? *2022-12-23* So far, I like this app I would give it five stars immediately, though on the iPhone it’s not very clear how to save the tracks you have created it’s not easy to navigate to the menu when you’re in the track developing mode. How do you save music once it’s been created… ### 4/5 — Really cool concept *2023-04-05, version 1.33* This is a really interesting idea 👌 As someone who has became stifled creativity wise- and fell into the whole “I must produce/mix/engineer” everything myself trap these days, this is a really handy tool. I’m only giving 4 stars because I am yet to really dive into what’s under the “hood”. Once I’ve done so- Ill no doubt come back and give it 5 stars and an updated review. ### 4/5 — This is really cool. *2022-05-06* This is a really cool idea. The developer has spent a lot of time fleshing it out. The dedication shows through the controls and settings. It’s almost perfect. The one thing that I wish was expanded upon is the chord progression tab. I wish there were more chords to chose from. Like 7ths and 9ths. Also how do I set the key to a minor scale? It’s almost perfect but unfortunately I cannot use this tool to aid me in songwriting until I can select different kinds of chords! Thanks! Major/minor chords can’t be forced as of now. The algorithm decides itself what is the best option. I’ll think about it if I’m able to change this behavior. Thanks again and have fun with Beatly! ### 4/5 — Cool app *2022-02-15* Useful for backing tracks and looping. Unlike other AI generated music this actually has character and sounds good. Couple of problems though. Icons are often too small to access easily on an iPhone. I can’t find a way to change the instruments on any track except for strings/orchestra. It would be helpful if there were an easier and faster way to change the bar numbers at the top. Also I discovered a serious glitch: out of nowhere, xylophone seems to have taken over and sounds on all the tracks even when they are muted ### 4/5 — Feedback *2022-01-11* I love the app, but there is one thing missing. Could you please add a midi batch exporter to it, so we all don’t waste time doing them one at a time. I might just want to go through a lot of beats at one time and then upload them all at once. I think it would save me and other’s a lot of time, something we all may not have. I hope you can get this for your next update. Now, all I need is someone to tell me how to get back into the Main Interface from the Piano Roll. I can see it peeking out at the bottom of the Piano Roll but can’t budge the window (sigh). **Developer response:** Thank you so much for your review! The piano roll can be dismissed the same way it was opened - by tapping the instrument icon at the bottom of the screen. Pro Tip: Use the custom chord progressions to create your own vibe and make it your own. ### 5/5 — Fantastic app *2024-01-08, version 1.33* I love beatly this and Riffler are my go to apps for music inspiration and for creating samples. It doesn’t seemed to have been updated in over a year, which is a real shame as it would be awesome if the added a few new styles to it like maybe klezmer or trip hop. Or a few other tweaks to give a little more control on instruments etc. But as it stands this app is still an awesome purchase ### 5/5 — Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this yet *2023-04-01* This is one of my favorite apps on the App Store. 100 steps above and beyond any of the other AI song generators. Nicht jeder Beat trifft meinen Geschmack, aber das muss ja auch gar nicht sein. ### 5/5 — très bon générateur une fois maitrisé, bravo !!! *2022-11-28, version 1.32* comme pour tout bon outil, une fois qu’on en comprend les limites, commence alors des expériences riches et subtiles. les sons et les styles inclus sont horribles et laissent à penser que l’appli est un jouet alors que les compos générées sont top et bien plus pro que d’autres à applis spécialisées. Restez en mode défaut ou saisissez vos grilles d’accords jazzy et la magie opérera. avant tout travaillez vos sets de sons sous aum, quatres instru et quelques fx audio, pas besoin de plus. configurez vos maps et canaux midi. passez en mode song sous beatly et le générative mix live peux enfin commencer. n’oubliez pas d’enregistrer vos cessions midi multipistes dans aum avec un hellium, LK, ou autre. c’est très léger et facile à restructurer après. je suis tombé sur des pépites de bonheur, avec des rythmiques complexes et harmonieuses inattendues. un grand merci au développeur talentueux !!! ### 5/5 — Great generator *2022-07-07* Please add drum and bass as a style?! It’s an easy app to understand which is a good thing, and I’ve used it in AUM as it’s Inter App Audio, and standalone as well. It’s opened up some interesting possibilities as it can control other synths and has Ableton link. It’s a doddle to use in AUM and a no brainier.
