## What is Beatpin?

Beatpin reads the tempo of the music around you and shows you the BPM — live, on your phone, with no account and no tracking. Point it at the speakers and a provisional number appears within seconds, then sharpens into a confident lock as the read gets surer.

Built for the gym floor, the spin studio, and the DJ booth — anywhere the beat matters and the room is loud.

WHAT IT DOES — FREE, FOREVER
• Live BPM, from the first beat — a tempo appears in seconds and firms up as Beatpin gets surer. No waiting for a lock.
• Tuned for the floor — multi-band detection built for gym and electronic music (house, techno, trance, drum & bass), with octave-aware locking that resists half/double-tempo errors.
• Pick your range — choose a tempo range that matches your music (e.g. House · Techno, or Drum & Bass · Fast), or let Auto detect and snap to the right one.
• Know the track — optional Shazam recognition names the song that's playing, right on the BPM screen, with the tempo it played at.
• A beat marker beside the readout — watch the number pulse on the beat.
• Lock screen & Dynamic Island — keep the BPM in view with a Live Activity while you move.
• Screen stays awake — the readout won't disappear mid-workout; it's released when you stop.
• Match the room — a default ember display, plus Light and Dark schemes for bright studios or darkened spin rooms.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Audio is analysed entirely on your device to detect tempo. Nothing is recorded or uploaded for BPM detection — session recordings (Pro) happen only when you switch them on, and stay on your device.

• Your settings, history, and matched tracks stay on your device.
• If you turn on song recognition, an acoustic fingerprint is sent to Apple's Shazam service to identify the track — Beatpin never receives your raw audio. It's off by default.
