Within a matter of minutes, however, it became clear that it did not offer the capabilities I needed. During the roughly ten minutes the app was installed on my device, I was prompted multiple times to purchase an annual subscription costing nearly $50. I had no intention of committing to an annual subscription at that price, particularly before I had even been able to determine whether the app could meet my needs. I then discovered that many of the features necessary to properly evaluate the app were inaccessible without a subscription. Ordinarily, I would have simply deleted the app at that point. However, I was offered a one-week free trial, which I accepted for the sole purpose of determining whether the paid features would make the app useful to me. After only a few minutes of testing, I concluded that they did not. I immediately went to my Apple subscriptions, cancelled the free trial the same day I started it, and prepared to delete the app. At that point, I received a payment-issue notification indicating that a charge of nearly $50 was being attempted. To be clear: I used this app for approximately ten minutes, enrolled in what was expressly presented as a one-week free trial, and cancelled that trial almost immediately. I did not knowingly authorize an immediate $50 annual subscription, nor did I receive anything remotely resembling a year’s worth of service. Situations like this are precisely why I keep transaction controls on the card linked to my Apple account. I will not pay nearly $50 for an app I used for a matter of minutes, received no meaningful benefit from, and cancelled during what I understood to be a free-trial period. Unfortunately, the attempted transaction is now also preventing me from making other App Store purchases or completing certain account transactions until the billing issue is resolved. I would like a clear explanation as to why an annual charge was attempted after I enrolled in and promptly cancelled a one-week free trial. If the trial was structured or presented in a way that resulted in an immediate annual charge despite being advertised as free, I believe that raises legitimate concerns about whether the subscription terms were disclosed clearly and fairly to consumers. I am also concerned that this type of experience may implicate consumer-protection principles regarding unfair or deceptive commercial practices. At minimum, the subscription and trial terms should be presented in a way that leaves no reasonable possibility that a consumer will mistake an immediate annual charge for a genuinely free trial. Based on both the limited functionality I experienced and the billing issue that followed, I cannot recommend this app. There are other photo and video editing applications available that provide greater transparency and a better overall user experience. ### 4/5 — Put five stars so this could be at the top *2026-08-11, version 7.42.1* HOW DO YOU START FREE TRIAL YOU CANT ### 1/5 — Free trial dishonesty *2026-08-11, version 7.42.1* If you have had this app before (I had 5 years ago) the fee trial is not applicable. Billed me $53.99 even though it offered and I accepted the “4 day trial” … I wanted to try some of the new features and test them out before I committed to another year service and it will not refund me. I called Apple. They will not refund. So proceed with caution. The app itself is decent, but I didn’t want to pay for another year. And it tricks you into believing you can have a four-day trial (apparently the legal disclaimer for this is in the small print somewhere, hidden). I have messed around with other apps and certainly nothing can compare. It’s user friendly, features are not hard to find, and the filters are seamless. The only thing I can recommend for improvement is this. Sometimes when I’m filming using a beauty filter, the things around me get distorted. You can’t really tell until you get to the editing of the video. It’s like the beauty filter bleeds into the surrounding objects. Other than that, it’s the greatest.
