### 1/5 — Simply does not work

*2020-07-25, version 1.0.4*

I’ve had to have my sensor replaced twice. The sleep times it reports simple are not true. Somehow it shows that I’m out of bed every morning at 4:30am. Even when I’m sleeping until 8-9am. Support suggested wiping my iPhone deleting the app, all of which I’ve done. Still the sensor cannot even record the time at which I lay on it - how long I lay on it - and when I get off it.

If it cannot do that - what does it do?

### 1/5 — Unsupported

*2020-05-05, version 1.0.4*

Dear Dev.

I have an older model 3.0 I have no possibilities to download the app for that . Even with US AppStore it’s says the region is no supported by this application . If I’m using this application it’s drive me throw for the older application at the store which gives never a ending loops .. so I cannot use the accessories any more . Please advise !

### 1/5 — Frustratingly lame

*2020-04-09, version 1.0.4*

This app constantly stops working and recording data. There’s no indication as to what’s wrong, or any reminder if you’ve accidentally closed the app to reopen it. Beddit also assumes you’re sleeping even if you’re not (such as reading on your phone in bed). The phone and watch movement data don’t influence Beddit data, which could be really useful in creating more accurate sleep data.

### 1/5 — Update 1.0.4 absolutely destroyed the reliability of the Beddit system

*2019-12-30, version 1.0.4*

Update 1.0.4 absolutely destroyed the reliability of the Beddit system. Virtually every morning since this update has been an exercise in frustration because of how inaccurate the data capture was overnight.

### 1/5 — Bring back the Beddit 3.0 App

*2019-11-22, version 1.0.4*

How is it possible to update the app and make it much less functional with less information than the previous app. Unbelievable!

### 1/5 — Current version deserves ZERO stars

*2019-11-21, version 1.0.4*

This app is horrendous - and basically doesn’t record your sleep data. Their developers need to fix this app, it can’t be that hard to fix and release a patch/update to properly record data. This is embarrassing that they can’t even make a simple app with their device to work, DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE, the app makes it worthless and useless!!

### 1/5 — Stopped working after the update

*2019-10-10, version 1.0.4*

It just won’t work. My Beddit was running smoothly until the latest update.
It connects perfectly, but won’t record any sleep functions.

### 1/5 — removed snoring feature?

*2019-09-15, version 1.0.3*

I bought this for the snoring feature and it mysteriously has been removed. It’s hard to believe Apple has done this. Hard to find support for this anywhere

### 1/5 — Just crashes

*2019-09-03, version 1.0.3*

This last update just hangs on the splash page and then terminates after about ten seconds. What on earth am I supposed to do this product is useless if the app doesn’t work

### 1/5 — Latest update broke the app

*2019-08-27, version 1.0.3*

iOS 12.4 iPhone 8, latest update and the app won’t even load

Offloaded the app and reinstalled, unpaired Bluetooth and still broken
What’s the point of $200 hardware that doesn’t operate within 6 months of use.

Breaks fitness for merchantability laws in California

Went to Apple store and they did a partial and then full iPhone reset and even factory reset.
Guess what? Complete waste of time and now other apps are broken and I’m reinstalling the phone again.

### 1/5 — Still a joke. Not very useful

*2019-08-23, version 1.0.3*

Does very little except nag. Was hoping for insight into apnea, restless sleep or something besides when weight was simply present on my bed.

No real updates since launch, this is clearly an abandoned failed product.

### 1/5 — New update takes away snoring detection

*2019-07-24, version 1.0.1*

I was expecting to see features added—not taken away. Apple doesn’t seem very interested in improving this product.

The snoring detection is one of the few things the Beddit can do that my Garmin Vivismart can’t.

When I compare it to my Garmin the Beddit seems to be lagging further and further behind in the 8 months I’ve owned version 3.5.

Apple please improve with new releases.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Landfill

*2023-08-16*

The device and the app are garbage. When it works, and it hasn’t worked most of the time I have had it, the data it collects are garbage. A spotty record showing that I slept about 2 hours a night. I have tried all the fixes—readjusting the hardware, unplugging/plugging, resetting, following all instructions. Two nights of bad data, then nights with no data at all.

The manufacture should be required to refund anyone who bought this, then pay for the recycling because all of this product is going to end up in landfills before it turns a year old. This is product is wasteful and criminal.

### 1/5 — Quite Simply Doesn’t Work

*2022-12-19, version 1.1.0*

Haven’t even been able to track ONE night of data after using this every night for a month. The strip doesn’t detect anything and the design of it should never have made it past its prototype stages. This JUST DOESN’T WORK. Do not get this.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2021-09-29, version 1.1.0*

They discontinued support and the app for the previous model (3) so if you had a perfectly working product and need to re download the app (upgraded device in my case) you now have a useless piece of garbage that you can’t use.

Was happy before this— but I won’t go and spend money on a newer version of their product after this.

### 1/5 — Bring back 3.0 support

*2021-09-07, version 1.1.0*

The 3.0 app is no longer in the App Store, so the existing product, working perfectly fine prior to getting a new iPhone, no longer works for anything.

Please bring back the old app or support the not very old products in the supported app.

### 1/5 — Must open app???

*2021-06-13, version 1.1.0*

I don’t understand why the app has to be open every night before I go to sleep to record. It should be open since it’s plugged in constantly…it crashes some times too. This app needs a revamp

### 1/5 — Useless if hardware doesn’t work perfectly

*2021-04-27, version 1.0.4*

App is 100% “happy path”. When the thing doesn’t work right, there’s no help in the app at all. It might have worked for while, but I have no idea what’s going on and am done Complete waste of money.

### 1/5 — Is this still in beta?

*2021-04-05, version 1.0.4*

As part of a scientific research study, I was asked to sleep with a Beddit. Half the time, it got my sleep data profoundly wrong. The worst examples? Several times a week, it reported that I never went to sleep (although I did), or that it only took a couple minutes to fall asleep (when it took an hour or more). One night, it told me I had already slept 8 hours and 36 minutes before I even got in bed! I think this product needs A LOT more fine tuning before it’s ready for mass marketing.

### 1/5 — Very dissatisfied

*2021-01-21, version 1.0.4*

This product does not live up to the Apple brand name. It is highly unreliable in its data collection. I have used it for two months and got less than 50% of the nights captured with some data. What I have learned to cope with is to reach down under the bed to reset the USB connection every two nights. When I forgot to reset it, i could count on it to not collect any data. Most recently I am having problems connecting the Bluetooth. It has been a struggle with this product. I bought it through the chase promotion as a last minute birthday gift to myself without doing much research... when I inquired about the return policy I was told it was only 14 days. Now that felt like a trap for poor quality products using the Apple name. Very disappointed. I shall never make the same mistake again!!!

### 1/5 — App stopped launching

*2020-11-15, version 1.0.4*

Even when it worked, it wasn’t great (as explained in countless other reviews). Now, as of a couple of days ago, the app won’t even launch past the splash screen. I didn’t update iOS, so there is no reason why anything should have changed. I tried disconnecting-reconnecting the device, deleting and reinstalling the app, and restarting the phone, before finally concluding that I wasted $150 on a now useless Beddit device.

### 1/5 — Stopped working

*2020-10-31, version 1.0.4*

After iOS 14 went live, my beddit stopped working. There’s no support and it feels like it’s an abandoned product.

It had very accurate results for years until it died. I’m not the only one so I don’t think it’s a hardware issue.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 4/5 — Beddit 3.5

*2019-08-16, version 1.0.1*

Good app, but need attention every night to be Sure your app it’s getting the readings from the strip

### 4/5 — Alarms

*2018-12-10, version 1.0*

The device 3.5 works wonderfully, I love being able to go to bed without starting an app or wearing my watch. I would love to see some features from the previous app such a detailed sleep patterns and alarms.

### 3/5 — Needs light/deep sleep features

*2019-01-05, version 1.0*

I hope the light/deep sleep features are added soon. Otherwise the beddit 3.5 model and the app are not worth it. A fitbit Alta HR would work better than this and be cheaper.

### 2/5 — App & Device

*2022-06-24, version 1.1.0*

The app doesn't do anything without the device. The device does not give reliable readings. This product (app and device) needs a lot of development before I could ethically recommend this to anyone.

### 2/5 — App kind of makes the Beddit not so useful

*2021-11-17, version 1.1.0*

The app doesn’t put the data in an easy format to follow trends, doesn’t seem to share everything with the Apple Health app in a way that it could consolidate the data alongside other sources, like the Apple Watch. I’d really like to see all the data from the Beddit show up there.

I don’t know if it’s a flaw in the sensor or if there could be something programmed into the app to help with sleep detection, but I often get data thar shows me as being asleep when I’m not. It’s even shown me as being asleep when I’m not in bed. Maybe having an app learning option where it prompts the user to determine if asleep or awake to develop a sort of custom sensitivity profile that takes into account movement, heart rate, breathing rate.

Snoring detection is, in my mind, a useful function, but seems to not be usable in automatic mode, which is unfortunate.

Between the inaccuracy of sleep detection and not having snore detection in the auto mode, I have to engage the Beddit manually and I was counting on it being something I could just leave run all the time - a set it and forget it sort of thing.

I’m also not sure about the accuracy of the temp sensor. Seems to not register as cold as it sometimes is.

I hope more is done with the app development. I like the Beddit as an idea, but the app doesn’t align with the potential for the device.

### 2/5 — Very little info and device constantly needs to be reset

*2019-12-14, version 1.0.4*

I had high hopes for this software and sleep tracking device. However, after a year of using it, I’m pretty disappointed. The amount of information available has decreased with each new app release and the device itself keeps needing to be reset to work.

### 2/5 — Now no data at all

*2019-10-04, version 1.0.4*

Last update did bring back snoring detection. At least it’s listed in the settings. Since the update though it doesn’t register any data at all however. As pointed out in reviews before, it would be nice if there was some sort of indication it’s connected, or if it were possible to see the raw data trace again after the very initial setup to know it’s actually working. And yes, I’ve unpaired and repaired multiple times. Was working fine, then seems dead after update. More and more disappointed.

### 2/5 — Crashes at startup.

*2019-08-22, version 1.0.3*

Running v1.0.3 and it’s stuck at splash screen then crashes. Useless. This version was released 2 days ago but no QA it seems. Please fix the crash.

### 2/5 — Why?

*2019-08-05, version 1.0.1*

I have been pleased with this app and device up until the latest update. I thought one of the best features was the snoring monitor. It helped me to adjust the way I slept and reduce my incidence of snoring drastically. I am not sure why it was removed but, usually, I would think that features would be added to an update, not taken away.

### 2/5 — Not good

*2019-06-10, version 1.0*

Hoping this will turn into something good, but it’s not yet.

- no trend graphs for many things like high/low sleeping heart rate

- no general sleep score to trend

- no movement score

- can’t see raw data after set-up

- no heart rate variability score

- no respiration rate trend

- trend time windows limited to just a few choices

- no “deep sleep” estimates

- can’t see snoring vs respiration rate

The raw data the sensor gathers seems to be a lot richer than the software can use or display.
