As Australians, my kids have no concept (or real need) for imperial measurements, so it just adds a layer of confusion by requiring them (or me) to translate the units before they can solve the maths. For example, today’s question compared a 12,388-foot spaghetti noodle with a 4-foot-wide, 1,110-pound meatball. The maths is great, but my kids were distracted trying to understand what those measurements actually meant. It would be fantastic if there were a metric option.
