### 4/5 — Would love a metric setting option

*2026-06-29, version 6.0*

I love the idea of the app for my kids (6 & 11), but I was a little disappointed to see I can’t opt for metric measurements in the questions.

As Australians, my kids have no concept (or real need) for imperial measurements, so it just adds a layer of confusion by requiring them (or me) to translate the units before they can solve the maths.

For example, today’s question compared a 12,388-foot spaghetti noodle with a 4-foot-wide, 1,110-pound meatball. The maths is great, but my kids were distracted trying to understand what those measurements actually meant.

It would be fantastic if there were a metric option. I think that would make the app much more accessible for families outside the US while keeping the activities just as engaging.

### 4/5 — We miss the sound effects!

*2024-06-01, version 6.0*

The old app was a little clunky but had fun bouncing symbols when you got questions right. This new app has a lot more functionality but we would love the fun appearing elements (always love the oinking pig!!). We’ve been using this app for probably 6+ years at this point! It’s nice and bite-size for before bed.

Edit: thank you for the response!! We're huge fans :-)

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review and for being a longtime user of our app! We’re thrilled to hear that you’ve doing Bedtime Math all these years. We appreciate your feedback on the animations and while we can’t make any promises, we’ll definitely consider reintroducing them in future updates. Keep having fun with the numbers!

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2017-10-27, version 3.2*

I started using this app several years ago with my older son and now I’ve started it my six year old. He loves doing the problems and it helps him learn how to break word problems down which has been a struggle for him! Thanks so much!

### 5/5 — Great daily math fun!

*2017-09-26, version 3.2*

My boys have loved this since they were 5. Fun way to wind down from the day!

### 5/5 — Hi

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2017-06-16, version 3.2*

As a math teacher an a parent I think bedtime math is amazing. My daughter loves the questions. It gets her excited to do math every night.

### 5/5 — Kids love it

*2017-03-09, version 3.2*

We use it every day

### 5/5 — 🤗

*2016-11-06, version 3.1*

Love it! I e-mailed the manager of bedtime math and asked a question and he send me a certificate for asking a question! You get that everyday!

### 4/5 — Bedtime math

*2016-10-31, version 3.1*

Solid app

### 3/5 — Can't enter correct answers

*2016-10-25, version 3.1*

The fact that you can't actually enter the correct answer hinders this app. Without that ability kids will simply press the answer button and not even try. Big oversight that diminishes the effectiveness of what would otherwise be a great app.

### 5/5 — Great upgrade

*2016-09-06, version 3.0.25*

We have been using this app for about a year with our six-year-old boy. We love the bonding and learning opportunities that it provides. Since her son speaks Spanish we have to translate each story as we read it. The Spanish option that you added is so nice!

### 4/5 — It really works!

*2016-08-02*

I'm using this app at bedtime with my two sons aged 9 and 7. Within a month I've seen a real improvement in their mathematical problem solving and their confidence to tackle maths questions.
They are keen to try every level for each topic.
The only issue we've seen is that a lot of the topics and units of measurement are quite American-centric, but we just use that to add extra complexity to the problems.
Really happy with results. Simple app, free, it works.

### 4/5 — Needs an alert notification

*2016-05-14, version 2.0.4*

Great, just like the books, we love bedtime math except for:

1) the levels aren't the same difficulty across questions and 2) specifically related to the app, I wish there was an alert feature that you could set to off at your child's bedtime to remind you to do bedtime math with them

### 5/5 — Fun and educational

*2016-01-26, version 2.0.4*

The kids have so much fun doing these every night. It helps end the day off on a fun note. It's a great chance for us to bond

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — 👀👀👀why

*2026-05-30, version 6.0*

Ima kid and literally even some of the so called easy problems are hard like why I DO NOT recommend this

### 1/5 — RUBBISH- Just crashes

*2019-10-19, version 5.2*

Pretty poor that an app about maths can't even open! Something wrong with the programming?! Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.

### 1/5 — Errors = less excited about math

*2019-10-11, version 5.2*

We homeschool our three children. At first, there was much to be excited about in bedtime math. The problems were broken down to different age levels and the interface appeared easy to use. We liked that it integrated math into other subject areas like geography and science. We started to set aside time to do it with our kids with the hopes that eventually they would pick it up to do some on their own. Unfortunately, we came across a few places where the language was difficult to understand. This made us all less excited to use the app as we spent more time trying to interpret what the questions were than actually doing math. One time, there was a question about stacking cars and elephants in “different combinations” (I can’t remember if that was the precise language). I had to look ahead at the answer to figure out whether this was a problem about patterns or about how to add numbers of each item to get a specified total. Needless to say, my child got distracted and frustrated while I sorted it out. Another day, my daughter went to go use it on her own and then she started saying to me “I don’t understand this”. I thought maybe the math was too advanced for her and was ready to teach her something new but when I looked at the problem, I saw that the wording mixed up “vegetables” and carrots and different types of vegetables in the pictures. Again, I can’t recall exactly what the mistakes were in the language of the math problem, but it was enough that both my daughter and I just skipped it. We actually haven’t used the app since that time. It is very frustrating because these errors actually make the children (and parents) *less* excited about math, which I hardly think is the goal. And even though it was a monetarily “free” app, we ended up wasting valuable learning time trying to figure out what the daily problems were asking. Our time would have been much, much better spent counting beans.

### 1/5 — ???

*2016-04-14, version 2.0.4*

When the App opens then when I click "Math problem of the day" & "surprise", it doesn't work!

### 1/5 — Expected more than this..

*2015-10-14, version 2.0.4*

Yes, it's free so I can't complain that much.
But I found the quality of the problems to be poor. Uninteresting and repatative.
The UI is functional, but not particularly well designed.
The stories don't have the greatest writing, I found myself paraphrasing when reading them aloud.
The stories that mention outside content include tiny little images, and no links, so it's difficult to expand on what the story is about.
Generally a poor start. I hope it improves, but I will be deleting it.

### 1/5 — Little lola134

*2013-09-09, version 1.1*

Boring

### 1/5 — Won't launch on my 4S

*2013-06-24, version 1.0*

It just sits on the launch screen.

### 2/5 — Looks like a great app BUT

*2015-10-09, version 2.0.4*

I am not getting the pictures. Many of the problems depend on the picture. Fix that and 5 stars

### 2/5 — Sticking with emails

*2013-05-26, version 1.0*

The app is great, when it works. We LOVE Bedtime Math but lately the app doesn't load correctly, or the photos don't show up, but mainly, I can't seem to get the new math questions. So sticking with the emails for now and hoping things get resolved soon.

### 3/5 — Voiceover accessibility

*2024-06-20, version 6.0*

Please bring the voiceover accessibility back.
