There are several problems with the app that keeps it from being useful for falling asleep to. One is the fact the stories are too short. They range from nine to about eighteen minutes. Who falls asleep in nine minutes? Plus the narration is fairly fast paced. Again, tough to fall asleep to. Finally all the stories seemed to start in the middle with no lead in. And then they end abruptly. Currently using an iPhone 16 pro, non max. ### 2/5 — Cool but costly, plus privacy issues *2024-12-17, version 2.20* The app itself is cool enough (although hangs quite a bit requiring reopening), but are you serious that we have to pay that much for a lifetime subscription and then STILL have to pay more to create personal stories (beyond the first 3 free teasers)? That's what I call a ripoff. Also, and more importantly, you don't find out until you're deleting your account that the stories become the intellectual property of the developers. Makes sense in that they "wrote" it, but if you put any personal details into filling out the prompts, now your information and "private" thoughts could easily be out there for all the world to see. That's disgusting and it should be clearly pointed out to the users BEFORE they choose to generate personal stories, not hidden in some tiny print that they'll probably never see. My advice is to skip this app and use a free AI generator online to create little short stories (but again, skip any personal details you don't want out there). ### 1/5 — Misrep *2024-11-29* The app store shows the lifetime is free, but this feature is not available in the application itself, which clearly constitutes a misrepresentation. **Developer response:** Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us. They are into Star Wars and at this point every time I drive them around and at bedtime they ask me for a new Star Wars story about some new character I never heard of. Counting Sheep understands them and in seconds they are listening to a new story. I also appreciate that it always keeps the audio stories "clean” too - they sometimes ask for questionable funny versions and it keeps it pretty PG. ### 5/5 — Amazing quality *2025-02-27, version 2.20* I love reading fan fiction stories online, but I really don’t have the talent to write my own stories.
