## What is Been There?

Remember every place worth going back to.

Been There keeps the restaurants, cafés, pubs and bars you've been to on your own map, with photos and notes from every visit. There are no star ratings. You say whether you'd go back, and see where your friends would.

Add a spot
Search for the place, say how it was and add a photo if you like. Three choices, from Not for me to Top Spot, and no scores to agonise over.

Remember every visit
See each visit by the day you went, with your photos, your notes and who you were with. Your notes keep what you ordered last time.

Your own map
Every spot you've been to, on a map of photo pins. Browse by country, from the café round the corner to the bar you found on holiday.

Crown your favourites
Mark your Top Spots so they stand out on your map and your profile.

Find places through friends
Follow friends to see where they've been, what they thought and who they went with. When you need somewhere to eat, start with your friends' spots.

Places near you
Discover shows the spots around you from the people you follow, so you can find somewhere good nearby.

Private if you want
Keep your profile private and approve who can follow you.

Use it as your restaurant journal, your list of favourites and your map of where to eat next, from brunch to the pub round the corner. You can also save places you want to try.

Been There is free.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 4.13.0 — 2026-10-28

Find places your friends have been in Feed, alongside their posts. Open a post's photo to see who shared it and how they rated the place. Your post stays intact while photos upload. Editing a post keeps the people you were with. Retry a failed place search when adding your first spot. Going back to the welcome note keeps your search in place. Return to your saved account and Feed while the latest posts load.

### 4.12.1 — 2026-10-23

The map, feed and friends' shelves use each person's current rating, so an older visit doesn't keep a place marked Top Spot. Your map stays visible until the next tab is ready. Screens reset after you leave them. Editing a post updates your profile list without reloading it.

### 4.12.0 — 2026-10-22

After sharing, Add a Spot resets for your next place. Choosing how it felt and the posting confirmation move more smoothly. Your draft stays in place when you switch apps and return. The labels under each tab are larger. Profile follower counts wrap when you use larger text. Restaurant, cafe, bar and pub icons stay visible as you browse the map. When only you've been to a place, you can choose to see recommendations from friends of friends.

### 4.11.1 — 2026-10-16

Maps stay visible as you change themes or open place profiles. Your saved sign-in is kept during startup connection problems. Place search lets you enable location or retry a failed search. Visits show the day you went, alongside your notes and companions. Social replaces its loading placeholders when your friends' spots are ready.

### 4.11.0 — 2026-10-14

Place profiles bring your visits, photos and the people who’ve been together. Choosing how a place felt is clearer, with a confirmation when you change an existing rating. Your collection scrolls more smoothly, and editing a spot keeps your note and feeling in place.
