### 4/5 — Well worth the price

*2025-06-15, version 3.1.0*

It didn’t take long for us to work out how this system works and only have a couple or three grumbles:

1. When we sync from an iPhone (which we use outdoors in the single apiary we have - around 45 colonies, counting nucs which we sell) we found not all the data synced to the iPad we use indoors. Things like recording a Virgin queen becoming a Mated queen didn’t change.

Workaround: we now delete the entire apiary on the iPad before syncing from the iPhone. This works every time.

2. It would be nice if we could order the To Do list on the Timeline, either alphabetically or, even better, in the order we work through the apiary, but it’s completely random.

Workaround: We normally glance through the To Dos but rely on the To Dos in the Apiary - Hives section. Works for us but a bit frustrating sometimes.

3. Queen Breeding: I know a few people have bemoaned a lack of features for this but we, using a bit of a cheat, get on okay with it.

Workaround: We usually graft larvae from our breeder queens into cups installing 20 grafts onto cell bars. We have a ‘hive’ called Zee Incubator and, on the day of grafting, record that there as an ‘inspection’. When we take the queen cells out of the cell raiser and transfer them into the incubator we record that as another inspection. We always include the breeder queen who laid these eggs. Even queen cells, which either pass through the incubator or simply transfer from one hive to another are recorded here, dates and explanations. Then, as the virgin queens are placed in mating nucs each is given a colour and number (the number is random, the colour denotes her bloodline) so Blue45 or Yellow32. Queen cells are not given a number until they begin laying but their colour and dam is recorded on their ‘Incubator Inspection Page’ and updated if they do come into lay. This makes every queen traceable.

A paper system functioned well with a few hives but I would never want to go back to one. The cost of this system is very reasonable and we applaud the developers for their attention to detail. The fact that it works across several hardware systems (in the same name) is a bonus.

In a nutshell, well worth purchasing even if you have just one hive multiplied by the number of hives you have.

If I have time (hmmm, but will I have any?) I’d like to present a quick overview of the system.

### 4/5 — Good app but difficult to sort the hives

*2024-07-28, version 3.1.0*

Good app. Difficult to sort the hives in the app though, so I need to look for a while for the right hive. Archiving feature would help so not active hives are saved there

### 3/5 — Not impressed

*2024-04-15, version 3.1.0*

I thought the app would automatically sync between my iPhone and iPad but apparently it doesn’t. Also after entering all my swarm traps and locations I can’t seem to find how to get it to track swarms caught and the how to section doesn’t cover it. I’ll try something else.
I’m sure it is great for tracking hive info but it’s not for me

### 4/5 — Easy to use, would recommend

*2024-03-31, version 3.1.0*

I've been using this app for a little over 2 years. It's easy to use and makes it easy to track and go back to reference data on your hives and apiaries.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2024-03-28, version 3.1.0*

I use this for managing my foot hives. It has everything I need, except for pollen records. Please add this.

### 4/5 — App is great, has a few minor flaws

*2023-08-14, version 3.1.0*

I absolutely love this app it makes it easy to do inspections and add notes so I remember what needs to be done and what I’ve already done, I also love that it does inventory and financial keeping, the flaws are annoying and need an update, when you’re in the plans section and try to edit the list and move plans around the app crashes every single time, and sometimes when I mark plans as complete then close the app it resets the plan to 0% complete

### 4/5 — Great user friendly app

*2023-07-22, version 3.1.0*

So far, loving this app. It is so user friendly and easy to see the overview at a quick glance. If I could make a suggestion......please work on the transferability of the app between devices. I began using this app on my iPhone, but due to storage space, was forced to dedicate an iPad to the bees 😅. This is awesome, but reentering all the data is sooo meticulous when you have to start over from scratch for each device. Needs a tweak to the app that will allow devices to speak to one another OR the info tied to an account that will show the same information on whichever device is being used at the moment. Overall, this app is amazing for tracking bees and inspections. Kudos to the developers.

### 3/5 — Arriving

*2023-04-20, version 3.1.0*

I wish it would archive hives that you have lost or shut down

### 4/5 — No ability to “archive”

*2023-03-27, version 3.1.0*

I would like the ability to “archive” a hive instead of delete it. that was I can still reference notes and etc for that hive. The work around we’re currently using it to create an apiary named “archive” and transfer these dead outs to the archive apiary. Would be easy to implement by default. Thanks for consideration! Love the app.

### 3/5 — My review

*2023-01-22, version 3.1.0*

I really needed an app for my record keeping as I am not good at keeping records. I like this app but the syncing between devises is difficult. I hope an update comes along.

### 4/5 — Great App for keeping track of things

*2022-07-22, version 3.1.0*

I’m a backyard beekeeper and this app helps me keep track of all the important information I need .

I’d like to see an option added where you can pin a location on a map of other beekeepers apiaries.

### 3/5 — It’s fine

*2022-05-20, version 3.1.0*

Consistently has little glitches (pointless to even try and add photos to hives bc they’ll disappear for no reason) and the data transferring is frustrating. We’ve been using it for 3 years so it’s hard to switch to another platform but we would.

### 3/5 — The only thing keeping this from being the killer app

*2022-05-06, version 3.1.0*

I have been using this since last year. The app is insanely useful and great for tracking everything about your hies.

The only thing keeping this from being a killer app is that the data sync is excessively painful.

I use my phone and iPad depending on what I’m doing. Quick changes and additions/inspections go on phone and activities with lots of notes go on the iPad because I have a keyboard.

I absolutely HATE having to compile a sync file, save it to my google drive then get on the other device and import it from the drive and then do the same in reverse so both data on each device is sync’s with the other.

I would happily pay to have instant sync. Just click a button and the changes are synced between devices.

### 4/5 — Bee plus

*2022-04-18, version 3.1.0*

Works well for my small setup and cost is very cheap

### 3/5 — Help

*2022-01-22, version 3.1.0*

This happened before and I was given tips on how to fix it, but now I’m in the same bind. All of the photos from the app vanished. How do I get them back?

I tried the advice below, but still no luck. Any other suggestions?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Photos won’t upload and no support

*2024-03-28, version 3.1.0*

I’ve sent 3 requests to help with uploading inspection photos and no response. It is disappointing I cannot use this key function. As a new beekeeper I wanted photos to show my mentors but they didn’t save.

### 1/5 — Zero support

*2022-05-30, version 3.1.0*

This app has potential but you can’t even provide a simple method of contact. Typical software development mentality.

### 1/5 — Horribly user unfriendly

*2022-05-15, version 3.1.0*

This app is the most user unfriendly app I have ever used for keeping track of anything. Complicated process just to enter a hive check. Steer clear.

### 1/5 — Use paper and pencil

*2021-05-08, version 3.1.0*

This app is WAY more complicated than necessary. Better to just use a notebook and pencil to keep track of things. This app doesn’t include any drop down menus or suggestions so you’re typing everything in yourself anyway. Don’t waste your time/money with this app.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2020-05-24, version 2.9.5*

I agree with the other low rating, this is nothing more than a note keeper, which is free on your cell phone. Need to develop a check list to make it easier to use. I will work on this myself. As a newbie keeper, wanted something easy to use and track my hives. DO NOT WASTE YOUT MONEY. Good luck trying to figure anything out on this app...crap

### 1/5 — terrible and difficult if use

*2018-04-13*

I am not one to leave reviews, but these reviews are false. All the great reviews are from either staff who work for the developer or are just nuts, and have never looked at other apps for hive management. The inventory section has Nothing, must write out each item vs. selecting from a list of standard items. Basic hive inspection items do not exists either. The app only provides a place for notes. When I am completing an inspection with a suit, gloves, HOT sweaty, I need something ready to go. I have a number of hives to move thru. Have many, tasks to complete. I need an app with all the questions of a inspection, as I want to get finished and not waste a large amount of time trying to write down these basic items only to forget to review items because the app does not have a list of inspection items to be reviewed.

### 1/5 — Crash on startup

*2016-05-03, version 1.1.3*

Since latest update, app now crashes immediately after loading.

### 2/5 — No way to contact

*2023-06-23, version 3.1.0*

Great app until it is not. There is no way to contact anyone to help with issues. Apple Store says you have to contact the company and nowhere is there a way to do that. Support in app says cannot send email
Web site has not contact method.

### 2/5 — Cannot sync photos, do not know where to get help

*2022-02-22, version 3.1.0*

Mostly works as expected. Works only with Apple, not Windows. Paid for additional install on a different device but have been unsuccessful in sync photos between devices. I searched for a help contact but cannot find one. Using this App Store to see if I can resolve my problem.

### 2/5 — Weird layout and navigation

*2018-06-30, version 2.6.3*

I think it would capture all the information that you want to keep, but the layout is super weird, navigation is completely unintuitive and entering information is awkward.
I’m sorry I wasted five bucks on this

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great tool for beekeepers

*2026-06-23, version 3.1.0*

I have used BeePlus for 5+ years. Feels like the authors know beekeeping. Easy to use interface, eg tick boxes to record sightings of the queen, eggs, larvae, brood. Drop-downs to select # of honey and brood frames, and foundation. Freeform boxes to capture your musings. You can record honey harvest by weight per hive, and the cost and usage of components per hive. You can set up multiple apiaries, and if you move a hive, the app lets you move the hive and its records to the new location. You can export all your records, which was great when I was asked to present my records for 5 years as part of a certificate program. Easy to track the genetic line of your queen. Good value.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-04-01, version 3.1.0*

This app allows me to speed up the notetaking process and take much more accurate notes. Great been using it for a couple years would recommend.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2025-09-26, version 3.1.0*

I have twenty hives on multiple sites. Once you get the hang of it this app makes life so much easier. Started using Sept 2025 and loving it

### 5/5 — Helpful to keep track

*2024-01-12, version 3.1.0*

Much improved my record keeping. Pictures are helpful

### 5/5 — Wondering how to record a swarm collected from a location, or from a swarm trap?

*2023-06-15, version 3.1.0*

Really liking this app!!!

However I have a couple questions…. How do I record that I’ve collected a swarm from one of my traps? How to record a swarm from any location?

How to I record honey collected from a hive?

Would like an option to archive hives instead of delete. Also an option for selling a hive.
Thanks!

### 5/5 — Enjoying its simplicity

*2022-07-19, version 3.1.0*

Just migrated from API Manager to this app for managing my hobby hives. Greatly enjoying the simplicity of design, it’s made record keeping much more enjoyable. Thanks peps!

### 5/5 — Quite the Buzz

*2022-07-18, version 3.1.0*

As a second year beekeeper, I looked for an app to document my apiary and found this one to be the best. Adding photos and documenting activity is easy. Wish there could be some voice commands since during most inspections you need both hands.

### 5/5 — Great app where’s android??

*2022-05-25, version 3.1.0*

Everyone raves about your app. I love it and have only had it for one day. In many bee groups people are sad it’s only offered for iPhone. Please consider android. Many keepers would love this app.

### 5/5 — Good app, beautiful user interface

*2022-04-08, version 3.1.0*

I redownloaded the app and tried it again. The finance feature is improved. Overall the user interface could still be streamlined more to improve efficiency and data input. It would be nice if the syncing could be set to automatically sync between phone and other devices, rather than manually sending the data back and forth.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-01-11, version 3.1.0*

Have been using this app for the past few weeks and everything is really thought out and is making life a lot easier. Much appreciated.
