Each issue serves up tasting notes on local & imported beer, cider, whisk(e)y, latest news & awards, travel, events, food matching, homebrewing tips & recipes (in a flip cover magazine entitled Homebrewer).

This is a free app download with paid content within. The current issue, back issues and future issues can be purchased within the app. 

Subscriptions are also available within the application. A subscription will start from the next released issue. 

Available subscriptions are: 

 6 months: £5.49/ AU$7.99 (2 Issues) 
12 months: £8.99/ AU$12.99 (4 Issues) 

-The subscription will renew automatically unless cancelled more than 24 hours before the end of the current period, you will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period, for the same duration and at the current subscription rate for the product. 
-You may turn off the auto-renewal of subscriptions through your Account Settings, however you are not able to cancel the current subscription during its active period. 
-Payment will charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase and any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when a subscription to that publication is purchased 

Bundles of single issues can be also be bought within the application. To use purchased credits, simply click on the issue price and select ‘use credit’. This allows you to purchase back issues at reduced prices. 

Users can register for/ login to a pocketmags account in-app. This will protect their issues in the case of a lost device and allow browsing of purchases on multiple platforms. Existing pocketmags users can retrieve their purchases by logging into their account. 

We recommend loading the app for the first time in a wi-fi area so that all issue data is retrieved. 
If your app will not load past the splash page after a first install or an update please delete and reinstall the app from the App Store

I've download this + paid for the annual subscription. The app states that this will result in the most recent magazine being downloaded. Nothing has happened. I'm now paid $2.99 for the app + $13.99 for the subscription... for nothing!!!!

I downloaded this app, and the latest issue (#25) which remained on my iPad for about 2 minutes. 
Reopening the app revealed no issue #25, and it was no longer available in the list of available issues. 
And, no response from the "help" section either. 
Rubbish!

I've only purchased the digital edition for issue 20 early last year and a lot of the text is garbled with the recipes rendered pretty much indecipherable. I sent several emails but never received any reply. 

I love the magazine but am very disappointed with the digital edition and the lack of support.

Great content, but they havent worked out this new fangled digital thingy. Latest print edition is out but havent supplied digital yet, one edition had alot of words overwritten and most numbers. They dont reply to emails. Will cancel my digital sub as soon as I can work out how.

App keeps crashing, will not load magazine, and when the magazine does load the screen goes black - never had this with any other app, or magazine.  I couldn't log in even with my correct details.
My advice would be to stick to the paper magazine if you are keen to read beer and brewer - which is a shame, I'm all for digital over paper and many iPad and iPhone apps are outstanding.  Not this one!
