## What is BeFree?

Say it once. BeFree files it as a task, a reminder, a calendar event, a list item or a note, so it stops living in your head.

Speak or type whatever is on your mind, in any order. BeFree sorts each piece to where it belongs and brings it back at the moment it matters.

Drop it. Keep it. Bring it back.

Most planners give you back one thing: a day plan. BeFree gives back five. A grocery item lands on your shopping list. A meeting with a clock time becomes a calendar event. A nag with a deadline becomes a reminder. A thought you want to keep becomes a note. You speak in any order; BeFree sorts.

Built for people who carry too much in their heads:
• Speak in any order. Mix groceries, follow-ups, kid pick-ups and meeting prep. BeFree parses each piece and routes it to the right place.
• Nothing slips for good. Commitments you missed come back gently on The Shelf once a week. Keep them, reschedule them, or let them go. No guilt, no overdue-task graveyard.
• See where it landed. Every capture shows its destination, so you know your reminder reached Apple Reminders instead of hoping it did.
• Calm by default. No streaks, no badges, no nudges to "engage". One mic. One sheet. Drop the noise and walk away.
• Speak from anywhere. Capture from the Lock Screen, a Home Screen widget, the Action Button, or say "Hey Siri, talk to BeFree" without unlocking your phone.
• On your wrist. The Apple Watch app shows what is next and captures straight from your wrist.
• Offline-first. Your dumps land on-device immediately and sync when you are back online.

What it captures:
• Tasks with priorities, projects and due dates
• Calendar events with the date and time you said
• Time-based reminders, including recurring schedules
• Grocery and shopping items, sorted by aisle
• Notes, kept and organised by folder

What it does not do:
• It does not try to be your accountability coach.
• It does not ping you with motivational nudges.
• It does not try to replace your calendar. It feeds it.

Voice and privacy:
• Apple speech recognition. BeFree never stores your audio.
• Sign in with Apple, Google, or email.
• Encrypted in transit. Per-account database isolation on every table.
• Full export. Account deletion in one tap.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

If you have ever wanted a place to drop the noise and walk out lighter, that is the room we built.

BeFree Pro (auto-renewable subscription):
• BeFree Pro Monthly: US$3.49/month
• BeFree Pro Annual: US$24.99/year
Prices are in USD; your local price is shown in the app and on the App Store. Both plans start with a 7-day free trial; payment is charged to your Apple ID when the trial ends. ## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1.0 — 2026-09-06

Your notes now look the way you wrote them.

Bold is bold as you type it. No stray asterisks, no odd gaps around a word, and backspacing at the start of a heading deletes the letter you meant instead of eating the line. You can add several photos to a note at once.

Also in this update:

• Ask Siri to mark a BeFree task done by name, "mark the dentist one done", without opening the app (iOS 18 and later).
• A reminder's countdown on the Lock Screen now reads in minutes, and the card is in the room and typeface you chose.
• Your widgets name the reminder instead of counting it, and there is a new widget that tells you the day in one sentence.
• A task's dates read as one story: when it was due, what happened to it, when it is planned for, and the one thing left to decide.
• Notes search moved out of the way until you want it. Pull down, or tap the search control.
• Tapping a Live Activity or a notification opens one card, not two.
• Lists you can sort and filter, with the same sort control on every ordered screen.
• Your day on one timeline, in the order things actually happen, with finished events shown as finished.
• The Now card is quieter and more honest. "Not now" snoozes instead of hiding the card until midnight, it stays quiet during your quiet hours, and it settles after you finish something.
• Tell BeFree how much something matters, and how hard to chase it.
• One word for each thing, everywhere: capture, file, the Shelf, wind-down. The same care in German, Spanish, French and Japanese.

We also fixed a set of quieter faults: a completed reminder's edits are saved, a reminder that falls inside your quiet hours still rings afterwards, a repeating reminder stays on the calendar, and a grocery item stays visible whichever aisle you file it under.

### 2.0.3 — 2026-08-24

BeFree on your wrist. The new Apple Watch app shows what's next and lets you capture straight from your wrist — raise, speak, done.

Say it to Siri, see it on your widgets. A capture made through Siri now appears on your Home and Lock Screen widgets without opening the app.

Widgets that tell the truth. Counts and lists no longer show stale numbers — when a widget can't be sure, it says so instead of guessing.

Notes, easier to write in. The formatting controls now sit above the keyboard instead of hiding behind it, notes save as you type, and the list shows more of each note.

Learn, redrawn. Every tip now shows the actual gesture or screen it's describing.

Choose how BeFree looks, once. Your room, accent and typeface now follow your account across devices.

Plus a long list of fixes: a smoother Talk sheet, more reliable reminders, better contrast on every surface, and clearer wording throughout.

### 2.0.2 — 2026-08-19

Today reads like a day now.

Everything on a day sits in one list, in the order it happens — an 8am reminder,
a 9am meeting, an 11am task, one after the other instead of split into three
sections that each start the clock again. The line under the greeting tells you
the shape of the day at a glance: "3 events · 3 tasks · 3 reminders".

Events can be ticked off. Tasks and reminders always could; now the third kind
can too, and a finished event stops reminding you about itself.

Two more rooms. Original Night is the classic BeFree look after dark, and
Original Auto follows your iPhone between the two. Each room now starts with a
colour that suits it rather than inheriting one.

Ask it things. "Summarise my notes from today" or "what have I got open" now
gets you an answer instead of quietly filing your question away.

Tell it about you. If you mention something about yourself while capturing —
how you work, something you find hard — BeFree keeps it and files things the way
you actually work. You can see everything it kept, and delete any of it, in
Settings → Privacy & data → What BeFree knows about you.

Also: drag the talk sheet taller when a conversation gets long, hold any message
to copy it, the voice waveform follows your voice properly, and switching tabs
returns you to the top instead of halfway down where you left off.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-08-19

A pass over the surfaces you look at most.

Today reads like Today again. The week strip is taller and the selected day is
solid colour rather than a faint tint, so the day you're on is obvious at a
glance. The greeting and the line under it sit above a fine rule, and the day's
items follow in the order they're actually due.

The bottom bar lost its panel. The four places you can go are named again, on
the page rather than on a floating shape, with the microphone in the middle
where your thumb already is.

Prompts look like BeFree. When notifications are off, or something needs your
attention, the card that tells you now says what will actually stop working
instead of just that something is wrong.

Fixed: switching days left the previous date looking blurred for a few seconds.
Fixed: the app icon sat too large inside its rounded square. Fixed: the voice
waveform barely moved while you were speaking — it now follows how loudly you
talk.

Small corrections across lists, notes and the capture screen.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-08-18

BeFree 2.0 is a quieter, faster place to put a thought.

One Siri command. Say "Hey Siri, talk to BeFree" and BeFree asks what's on your
mind — then any sentence works, however you phrase it. It files without opening
the app. Prefer something shorter? You can now train your iPhone so saying only
"BeFree" starts the same capture.

Every card, redrawn. Prompts and Shelf cards lead with a clear symbol, say what
they're asking, and offer one obvious thing to do instead of a row of competing
buttons.

Messages that explain themselves. When something can't be saved, BeFree now tells
you why rather than just that it failed — and you can tap a message away instead
of waiting for it.

Better with VoiceOver. Undo stays reachable, and explanations are read aloud.

Also in this release: clearer note typefaces, calmer lists that scroll properly to
the end, and a lot of small corrections across every screen.

The Focus room and timed routines are away for this release while we rebuild
them properly. They'll return with settings of their own.
