### 3/5 — Holy Cow!

*2021-01-24*

I love the graphics and sound effects. The music is great too! That being said, this game is confusing as all get out! Sort of a cross between Minesweeper and match-3. It’s hard to make sense of this game and the gameplay itself is not very addictive, but when I do play this, a weird thing happens... before I know it, an hour will just fly by! So obviously, there’s a LOT of potential for Beglitched to be a top-notch game, but it hasn’t been updated in years! Too bad... 😢

### 4/5 — Don’t know how to play

*2019-01-05*

At the beginning, it’s very confusing and I still have yet to played.. but it would probably be a lot more fun if you actually knew how to play

### 3/5 — Doesn’t make sense

*2018-11-14, version 1.0*

I have no idea what I’m doing. It is easy to get stuck sometimes and easy to beat enemies without knowing how you did it. This bewildering aspect makes it not very fun. And you know what? I’m smart! Go figure...

### 5/5 — Amazing game!

*2017-08-03*

The gameplay is just amazing and the way everything is designed draws you in. It's a little confusing in the beginning but once you got it, the game is a blast. The mechanics, gameplay, and visuals make this game amazing. It makes you think outside of the box sometimes (literally). There are lots of secrets to discover and can help you in your game. Discovering new areas of the game is fun to do and this game is so well thought out.
The only problems I have are that the game drains a lot of battery (probably couldn't do much about that) and the game was disappointingly short.
Even with the minor problems stated above, the game is amazing and definitely worth the money.

### 2/5 — Waste of money

*2017-06-06, version 1.0*

Confusing and boring. No tutorial and I have no idea what was going on. I want my money back.

### 5/5 — Very smart and unique

*2017-04-10, version 1.0*

Match 3 innovation?!? No, srsly. Some really thoughtful mechanics and clever puzzles, a nice story, great value. Best match 3 since Puzzle Quest Galactrix!

### 5/5 — 🐈✨

*2017-04-04, version 1.0*

This game is beautiful. I love it so much!

### 5/5 — A Masterpiece

*2017-03-24, version 1.0*

Remarkably creative and engaging puzzler which is taken to a higher level by great design feel, attention to detail, and truly outstanding storytelling.

### 4/5 — Worth sticking with

*2017-03-22, version 1.0*

Almost gave up until I understood the minesweeper style indication for what's in a given node. Once that happened it became an inventive charming game. Give it a chance and stick with it, it's worth it

### 5/5 — Excellent game

*2017-03-21*

Definitely a game for those looking to challenge themselves and think outside of the (adorable) box. I don't suggest it to those looking for a fast-paced brainless game to pass the time. I just wish there was a sequel or more secrets to uncover.

### 5/5 — Awesome premise

*2017-03-21*

Edit: seems like my phone was bugging out and I needed to restore with the latest update, not the games fault it failed to save. Im really enjoying it now! Vibe is great and very interesting take on match 3

### 5/5 — Recommendation

*2017-03-20*

This is a great game! I really would like you to add an online mode, which has you choose where you will hide, and then blow up your opponent 5 times first. Oh, and an avatar creation for that mode would be cool.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not playable on iPhone SE small screen

*2018-10-30*

One of the first things the game tries to teach you is to avoid logging into computers that have an egg on the screen. (Esoteric in-game jargon) The screens are so small it’s pretty much impossible to tell what the icons are. The game is essentially unplayable on a small screen. Wish I could get my money back. … Seems like it might be a fun game, but I’ll never know.

### 1/5 — WTF?

*2018-08-28, version 1.0*

I can’t fathom this one at all. No apparent pattern to anything, continued and frustrating guesswork. Folk seem to like it but it’s not my cup of tea at all - and I like a challenge. One for the recycle bin.

### 1/5 — Makes no sense

*2017-03-21, version 1.0*

Game would be cool but it does not explain how to read symbols. It tells me that if an egg is shown in the screen of a computer then it's not always an egg so I login to an egg and it is an egg! I have no idea how to play and it doesn't give any information!

### 1/5 — what is happening

*2017-03-18, version 1.0*

this game doesn't explain anything well. the arrows point the wrong way, the icons seem random, the difference between compass and computer powers isn't clear, knowing which board pieces will level up when linked vs adding to your energy/turns,$ is never clear, the legend only has some of the icons the game actually requires you to know.... it's a mess. i've spent over an hour trying to figure this game out but it is a nightmare and i wish i could get a refund.

### 1/5 — Frustrating and ugly

*2017-03-15, version 1.0*

This game looks like the inside of a twelve year-old girl's pencil case. It's bright and twitchy and hurts my eyes. The challenges are frustratingly bereft of any real instructions, and while trial-and-error is sufficient to get you through them, it's insufficient to tell you HOW you got through. I played it for less than twenty minutes and then deleted it. Waste of money.

### 2/5 — Too punishing

*2019-01-06, version 1.0*

The core game is fun, but not fun enough to justify replaying entire sections of the game over and over every time you lose. How bout a halfway point? Gets tedious quickly.

### 2/5 — Complicated

*2019-01-05, version 1.0*

Leaves a lot of things unanswered.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t save often

*2018-10-06, version 1.0*

Awesome game but it doesn’t save often enough. Instead of between each network layer, it only saves after you finish an entire section.

### 2/5 — Cute, but not worth the high price

*2018-01-20, version 1.0*

This game is super super cute, but it’s hard to understand and somewhat repetitive. It’s basically a cute version of minesweeper and bejeweled.

### 2/5 — beautiful aesthetically. the rest needs work

*2017-08-09*

let me start by saying i don't usually write reviews, but to be blunt this game doesn't seem worth the price. i bought it because other reviews raved about it but to be honest you're paying more for the aesthetic than for the game.

art style? music? writing? all great. but the game play really didn't do it for me. i wanted to like this game, i really did, but like other critical reviews express: the game is unintuitive. the tutorial is haphazard and ultimately confusing. i wouldn't call the levels puzzles, they feel more like randomly generated sequences of trial and error. essentially you're tossed into the deep end once the tutorial is over, which wasn't very insightful to begin with.

i don't want to say i'm surprised this game has great reviews or come off as i'm bashing the developer but i think the critical reviews of this game have a point. again i think the concept and aesthetic are wonderful, and the game has potential, but i didn't feel a desire to pick it up more than once or twice.

tl;dr it's a cute game, but probably not what most people would expect for an app with this price.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Such a great game

*2020-01-14, version 1.0*

The whole concept is amazing and it's very original. I enjoyed the whole game and the story and it took a fair amount of time to play through. I think this game is underrated for how great it is

### 5/5 — Brilliantly designed game!

*2019-11-10, version 1.0*

!

### 5/5 — Better than I thought

*2019-09-21, version 1.0*

I’ve always wanted to try this game but was reluctant because of all the duds on the App Store. But I finally gave it a shot and it was actually really good. I also saw Michael Brough’s name in the credits and he’s the developer for the games “Helix” and “868-HACK” which are both fantastic. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Super fun game!

*2019-02-05*

That being said, there are a few places where things are outright not explained and as such led to many hours of frustration before just looking up answers online. Catnet and spamnet are by far, the most frustrating levels (I’m fairly certain catnet took a few days off my lifespan just out of how angry I would get before finding a strategy that worked for me. Especially the last boss of that level who I had no idea how they operated for quite a while). I loved the gameplay and execution of glitchnet and it’s honestly really sad to see it end so soon afterwards, but understandable in terms of the story. Would be nice to have an endless mode or something similar. Overall, the game and story are pretty nice.

### 5/5 — A nice hack-y game!

*2019-01-05, version 1.0*

I’d say that the app works real well as a fun computer story with engaging mechanics. The skill required are definitely natural enough to learn and any challenges I failed once definitely make me want to give it another try!

### 5/5 — Unique and challenging!

*2018-11-20, version 1.0*

Thoroughly enjoyed this app as a fan of puzzles and text based games; love the interface and the overall aesthetics, while the gameplay style and storyline kept me interested and engaged to the end.

### 5/5 — Fantastic puzzle game!

*2018-06-30*

A fun puzzle where you are searching for your enemy and preventing them from wiping you out. I wish my save was kept on iCloud so I could play it on my iPad as well as my phone.

### 5/5 — Holy $*&

*2018-01-21*

Honestly, this is one of the best games I’ve ever played in my entire life. It’s frustrating and funny and colorful and sweet all wrapped around one of the best puzzle games I’ve ever had the pleasure of cursing at.
I was worried it would be too short and I’d have wasted your money, but this game has earned every cent I spent on it and more. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game on iOS with worldbuilding like this one has.
Bravo, game devs. I’ll happily pick up anything else you put out.

### 5/5 — Brilliant!

*2018-01-11*

I agree with some of the other reviewers that it’s tough to figure out how to play this at first. Like... really tough. That can mostly be accredited to the fact that there’s really no other game like this, and that’s also part of the appeal. You feel like you’re sort of teaching yourself how to do this and it makes the gameplay even more rewarding once you start getting good at it. Once you do get the hang of how to play it though it’s a fully enthralling game that’s hard to put down. Obviously the visuals are phenomenal, the story line and humor is very present without being overbearing, the style of gameplay is incredibly unique. All in all just a home run of a game, well worth the high price tag.

### 5/5 — 😱😱😱😱😱😱

*2017-10-31, version 1.0*

So worth the price
 great storyline
And amazing gameplay with purple smiley bombs and dancing elephants that hack! beglitched is my favorite app and i love the adorable characters!!!
